its great, but after s3 e1 its a mess
pleb
Season 3 is the best season
Season 3 is certified TV kino you fucking pleb, I loved this show so much too, I binged it within a couple of days
Re watching now, realize season 1 kinda sucked compared to the other two
why?
because you want something shallow and digestible, that replaces character development with sci-fi mystery and twists, and mistakes sad music for emotional depth
I generally liked season 3, my only issue was that Nora and Kevin get back together after the show seemed to be pounding into your head over and over that they had a toxic relationship. I just can't see it suddenly working just because it's been a few decades, they always looked miserable together.
>that replaces character development with sci-fi mystery and twists
Are you a retard? What a stupid parallel. And that you claim that there is no character development only proves that you didn't see the show
if you watch is past the 1st season you're a proven pleb.
t. pleb
it's not really fullblown mess until the end, still some great episodes.
(You)
you're the pleb here m8. The first season already expressed and developed everything it had. The other seasons are just milking an already expressed idea.
But I'm glad you're fighting for your pleb opinions.
t. pleb
awesome memes pleb, you sure defended your show well!
t. butthurt pleb
>loves pleb shows
>loves pleb actors
>uses pleb memes
Kevin asking a koala bear for directions was the best thing the show ever did.
t. doss pleb
Isn't that sort of the point of the show? People tell themselves all these lies in order to survive, including old lonely people making themselves believe one 2 year fling they had 20 years ago was their true love. If they both believe and it makes them happy, who are we to say they're wrong?
You're not alone, user. Sup Forums liked The Leftovers for all the wrong reasons. S3 was shit.
S1 >>> S2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> S3
Can you be more wrong
Of all the shows Sup Forums likes this is the only irredeemably shit one. Clumsy character exposition full of contrived pointless drama, flat out writers' retardation and behavioral incoherence. The only reason I could see someone non-autistic weathering through this garbage is nostalgia and looking for that titillating bag-full-of-questions mystery atmosphere that Lost delivered.
Stop watching after season 1. everything after that is pure garbage
lindehack trash
I hate the fact that they explain what happened to all the disappearances and where they all went in season 3. Season 2 is just a load of bollocks, you can tell the creators had no clue on where to go with the story. Also the gap between season 2 & 3 is just retarded, characters who hated each other are suddenly best friends. cant believe how such a kino show went to shit so quickly
The fanbase seems to be easily impressed by forced melodrama and actors making dramatic faces.
100% this
I always feel these threads are severely lacking in tard-wojack images "kino" in greentext.
HOME
Glad its not just me. Been watching this show. Season 1 was great. Everything after was mostly downhill. Season 2 had some decent moments in the second half. With all the critical praise seasons 2 and 3 got from critics I was expecting better.
the fans of this show are incredibly dumb. the entire show is just random mysteries being thrown in characters laps and reacting to them. it's just a bunch of contrived forced bullshit that idiots think is profound.
Sort of like Twin Peaks then
I loved the first episode though, it was a great finale type episode that should have ended the series and let the mystery be
It is art.
Good for you, the show is amazing and just gets better, s2 is the peak but it never gets bad and ended before it became another Lost.
The fact that people even watched season 2 yet alone season 3 is proof this board is full of underage faggots.
Was the ability for Kevin to die and come back to life ever answered? I can't remember if they explained it in season 3
I can't explain how good this show was for me, everything was just right and good.
It dragged a bit with the whole Miracle storyline and the niggers and preacher and his vegetable wife, but the main plot with Kevin and his wife/children/father/gf .
Amazing.
Also the fucking soundtrack.
No, there was never any explanations for the paranormal/sci-fi events, but there didn't need to be.
The ending with Kevin and Nora was perfect, better than Sopranos at least.
get lynched faggot
This show was no where near as exhausting to watch as the new Twin Peaks.
There was no point to literally half the *plots* in this dreadful piece of shit sweety
So I just finished this show Sup Forums. I don't know how to feel. What exactly did the ending mean?
>says the 15 year old
>WHY IS SHOW CONFUSING, NOTHING IS EXPLAINED THIS SHOW SUCKS
neck yourself faggot
It's decent, but it's not really anything special. There are some neat scenes here and there, and Kevin's alternate reality episodes are always great for a laugh, but all in all it's not anywhere near as good as it thinks it is.
I'm someone who liked LOST because I recognized early on that the mystery isn't gunna get solved and it's better to just watch for the characters, which is something Leftovers also does. That being said, the characters in the Leftovers are just not that compelling, and are incredibly frustrating. I get that they're all broken in one way or another, but an inordinate amount of precious screen time is wasted on characters that get written out anyway and Kevin and Nora never really seem all that real. They're far more cartoonish than they should be for the leads.
The finale is also really not good. Damon decides to have Kevin and Nora act completely retarded simply in order to throw another mystery at the viewer (Is Nora in a parallel universe? What's going on??) that gets explained away as Kevin doing something that makes no sense and Nora being a paranoid amnesiac. What's supposed to be heartwarming and cathartic just ends up being entirely bland and forgettable because once again the two leads behave in ways that no real person - even a crazy/broken one - would act.
Watch it for the dark laughs, don't read into the mystery at all, don't get too attached to the side characters, and really force yourself to give a shit about the leads because the show won't make you care on its own.
I give it a light 6/10
Embrace the absurd.
you're not supposed to feel something in particular, you're just supposed to "feel"
S3 Finale
>I went in a machine which put me in the alternate world then found the scientist that built the machine there to make him build another to send me back
The show was great through season 1 but gradually got more disappointing until it sunk to its low point as it sputtered to an end.
Btw, there are dozens of references to this philosophy throughout the show. From the obvious shot of “The Stranger”to countless lines spoken throughout the show. Pure kino.
This show takes a few episodes to really get into, and it isn't for everyone, it teases you that there will be some big revelation, but I think real fans knew after a while that it didn't really matter if we ever got an explanation or not, but if it appeals to you then it is so good.
This was the first show in a while when it was airing that I got excited for every new episode.
This. I loved westworld and shit but the leftovers had me begging every end of episode. Also

It's not confusing honey, it's hype based and slow paced to the point of idiocricy tier memes. This show if to Sup Forums as sonic is to /vg/
Nora never went through.
There was no machine, no one knew what caused the departures, Kevin was schizophrenic like his father.
that 3 second clip of coon in the middle of this wrecks me every time
...
Mainly because I think it's obvious it won't make them happy. Maybe that was the point of the show, but it didn't seem like it.
What I took away from the ending was that they both chased something they thought would give them closure instead of just living the good life they had together, or something like that.
this and fringe are my favourite american tv shows.
They both start and end being very different shows
Hey Sup Forums, did I ever tell you that I love you?
Because I really do, you guys and grills are all beautiful, every one of you :)
This was the only scene I liked about the final episode. Kevin stalking Nora, Nora asking how he found her, Kevin saying he saw her ride by on a bicycle and Nora knowing that's bullshit.
Then they dance together. Kevin and Nora finally back together, each with tears in their eyes, both wanting to be with each other. That was an absolutely great scene.
I thought they were going to go somewhere with themy trying to add new chapters to the bible with the Kevin stories. But then they literally just throw that plot into a trash can.
Nora is pure woman. No piece of art has ever communicated this more effectively.
One of my favorite shows ever. Loved almost everything about it except Nora's story in the finale. I thought it totally went against the main themes of the show, that nothing happens for a reason, there's no explanation to anything, people just tell themselves stories, etc. Even if her story was made up it wasn't obvious enough and the fact that the writers said to the audience "hey maybe they all DID go to an alternate universe" always bothered me
She lied.
