Finally got around to seeing it, is it actually kino or no?

Finally got around to seeing it, is it actually kino or no?

Yes it's kino

It's kino and a fantastic movie in its own right but not as good as the original.

What did you prefer in the original?

why does dennis always steal shot compositions

Fuck off Ridley

It's an extremely well executed film no doubt

Plot, acting, cinematography?

...

all it has going for it le worldbuilding which is from the original anyways, k's arc is alright i guess the rest is eh

Yes, everything. And production design, and costume design, and sound mixing, sound editing, blocking, editing, everything is executed extremely well.

Fun fact that bald guy is Icelandic. We're all very proud of him :^)

Yeah, but bringing back Deckard was unnecessary. His part should have been a brand new character.

not him, but I liked the story better. I'm also a big fan of PKD and the original book, so there's that.

Is my answer good or bad?

this, the character was brought back just for business reasons but w/e

No, it imitates just the right amount of superficial arthouse production aspects to convince wannabe patrician fedoralords, that they're witnessing a serious artwork, while still remaining a simple shallow scifi flick that doesn't burden them with any actual mental workload. Add the lack of popularity and "muh waifu" and you basically have a movie tailor-made for your average 'tfw to smart' Sup Forumseenager whose film-related activities are comprised solely of 'ironically' watching capeshit and 'ironically' shitposting about it, while still sincerely thinking himself a "kinoisseur".

Basically everything—visuals, philosophy, script and dialogue, sound design, the ethereal, dreamlike atmosphere. Not saying 2049 is a bad film by any means, though. In both movies, everything is pretty well integrated and justified in terms of the overall package, forming a consistent whole. Just different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Both films are great on their own merits, the new one isn't trying to "outdo" the original, it is a completely standalone film.
But in some departments the new one is most definitely better, for example the romantic subplot of K and his virtual waifu is ten times more genuinely emotionally investing and moving than the absolutely flat romance with non existent chemistry we got from Deckard and Rachel in the original. And K is a much better and more explored protagonist than the one note Deckard in the original.
This is pretty much a non disputable fact.

And I would argue that the sound design is also much more impressive in BR2049.

>This is pretty much a non disputable fact.
It isn't but I'm glad you enjoyed the sequel so much, user.

>But in some departments the new one is most definitely better, for example the romantic subplot of K and his virtual waifu is ten times more genuinely emotionally investing and moving than the absolutely flat romance with non existent chemistry we got from Deckard and Rachel in the original.
It's the other way around.

A truly fine piece of kino.

No one ever talks about the romantic subplot of the original, the only thing that's talked about is the visuals and the Vangelis score.

5% Kino 95% waste of time

I hate the OP thumbnail because it always reminds me of sunshine and for that split second I get happy that somebody posted it

idk bro but i want to hold ryans hand

This basically. The film has great visual/audio aesthetics, but is shit otherwise. Awful pacing, lots of plotwise unnecessary and redundant material for the sake of looking "artsy" and "atmospheric" and/or spoonfeeding the audience, bad acting, often contrived plot, ham-fisted babby's first philosophical questions. The director doesn't really have anything original or at least interesting to say, but is absolutely masterful at creating the illusion that something really profound is being revealed, which is really annoying if you're not a brainlet, but quite fascinating for all the excitable developmentally disabled individuals that sincerely believe nobody has ever before asked the questions of "What is being human? What is being special? Are my thoughts authentic? What is the meaning of life?" and all the other angsty existential basics that normal humans wrestle with and outgrow in their late teens. A gorgeous feast for the eyes and ears, it ranges from middling to dreadful as far as "the message" goes. Overall a 6/10.

...and the soundtrack
>BBBBRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPRRRRRRRRRRRRBBBBBBBB

Why is that bad? Do you think every soundtrack has to be subtle and in the background, no matter the narrative of the film?

>BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP

It's kino.

VOOM
VOOOM

reddit told me it's good so here I am

I like how she was slightly embarassed by the fact that the doors didn't open at first.

fucking kek
I've watched the film 6 times and i never even noticed that once

i want to lick her butthole

Balde Runner 2049 will forever be known as the last great film. Screen cap this.

humans are talking mutt

I read the book before watching BR, and honestly I preferred the book. Might have something to do with the difference in world style that I imagined when reading, but I find myself with a better opinion of 2049 because of that.

Until another fake epic comes out that gets the imdb movielet crowd all hot and bothered correct?

Yes, and it's better than original.

i want to eat her shit
