Context?

But Lisa still get away with being the perfect person.
She hasn't get an episode where she is shown as the garbage she is since the futbol one.

I get that part of the humor of the cartoon is that it is self-aware, but come the fuck on.

youtu.be/v5ZYse6Vqtc

The future episodes all suck anyway.

Clip?

I hope you are talking or thinking about lisa, because if its not than i feel sorry for your soul! god this episode was a creepy lisa god worshiping and torture porn.

I'D RATHER WATCH SHOUJO TSUBAKI!!!

A THOUSAND TIMES! then sitting trough this fucking episode again, and that GF episode too!

I MEANT IT!

>Muh "contrarian" everything sucks anyway opinion

Way to be a sheep

No one likes Lisa Simpson.

What about Milhouse?

At Milhouse's birthday party, Bart snaps at Lisa because she always unintentionally one-ups him. Lisa snaps back at him for always blaming her for everything bad in his life.

Lisa would have more ground to stand on if the episode wasn't about Bart always getting pushed to the side whenever Lisa accomplishes something.

He doesn't count as a person.

Lisa was actually good in the old series because she learned humility, same with Marge.

Now they're both "Im the political mouthpiece so I'm always right everyone else is an idiot."

But Bart is a fuckup and Lisa actually tries. It's not fair for Bart to blame her for his shitty life. He had no place to call her out.

>Ugh why are you jealous that I overshadowed you in everything you ever attempted?!
>Why can't you just be happy being good at art...you know the one talent that doesn't pay well unless you become the next Picasso

Fuck Lisa in this, and I guess the character she's suppose to represent from that movie Boyhood.

>I'm annoyed that you're smart and successful!
How are you supposed to respond to that? Just let someone be angry at you forever?

I like those "redesigns."

youtu.be/M_AaPwiqjpQ
If only Meg had the audacity to leave the family, this moment would've been among the best moments if not the best moment of post-cancellation FG.

The hatred for lisa was misplaced, it was his parents that failed him.

But also fuck lisa for being a shitty sister anyway, she could have told him he was an artist waaaaay sooner

>Expecting your sibling to boost your ego in order to do something worthwhile in your life
That's stupid as hell. Bart has only himself and possibly his parents to blame for how he turned out. Lisa isn't responsible for his failures.

I'm not saying that Lisa isn't supremely annoying most of the time but I was equally annoyed by Bart being pathetic and blaming her for his own shit.

What I hated most about this episode was that being an artist never played into Bart's character. Maybe if Lisa was jealous at him for being a natural musician when she eventually gives up on her saxophone because we've had those episodes but artist?

That would be a valid point, IF there weren't a dozen of episodes where Bart has a nice gig going for him only to sacrifice it for Lisa.

except he's not wrong

They go back and forth on doing that. Everything resets in the Simpsons anyways.

And again, he can't blame her for decisions she made. She isn't responsible for his success.

>Expecting your sibling to boost your ego in order to do something worthwhile in your life

That is not what i said. Also >Boost your ego

The guy had low self esteem all his life, not everyone have good parents to know self value, all around bart worshiped lisa and gave bart a sense of he being an idiot he was punished for being himself, the only one who noticed he was an artist was lisa (since she is unable to make anything artistic)

*can't blame her for the decisions he made.

I don't know what made you think this was funnyccusing or witty in any way.

In this episode it was Bart tries hard and comes up short, while Lisa doesn't try at all and gets lots of praise because things came easy to her.

She is responsible for destroying his potential career in music because of her fucking tiger.

>Episode is called Barthood
>It's about Lisa being better than Bart at everything
Why do the writers hate Bart so much?

But Lenny is perfect in every way.

they are shit ideologs

>Mr Flander, with al due respect, Bart didn't do anything

Uh, yeah he did.

What did he do? Stand up for his mother?

I'd say Barts reaction was inline how most people would react if someone flipped out at their mother for no good reason.

>Why do the writers hate Bart so much?

Because theyre creatively bankrupt and want to do nothing more to put Lisa and Marge on a moral pedestal.

Theyve turned Bart into a destructive loser and Homer into a retarded moron with no sense of consequences

It's okay user, Lisa is terrible, but inside voices please.

what? what is shoujo tsubaki any................
>googles it
................................................................
................................................................
................................................................

None yet.

Peggy got called out on King of the Hill.

>Bart joins the X games
>Finally good at something and he enjoys it
>Lisa ruins it and causes him injury
>Bart ends up customising vehicles or some shit as a job
>The happy message at the end is that Lisa inspired him to express himself via art
God that pissed me off. Almost as much as the episode were Bart became a drummer and Lisa ruined that because she was jealous of him having musical talent.

I never expected something like that from Gumball out of all things, the best part is that they forget about it 5 seconds later. I wish there was a clip on youtube.

but does he count as a meme?

What do you think about the Hall Monitor episode?

Milhouse is not a meme.
"Milhouse is not a meme" is a meme.

Nobody likes Milhouse

You hate the entire main cast?

I have yet to meet a person in real life who genuinely likes Lisa Simpson and I live in arguably the most liberal state in the union.

Well that episode came out before the writers started with the paragon lisa shit, stuff like her actually admitting her mistake and asking why bart took the blame go far.

>Lisa ruins it and causes him injury

More like Bart got triggered at the sight of Lisa and fucked up his own stunt and got hurt when he didn't listen to her warning to move, both of which could've been avoided if Bart didn't let her success get to him.

But is ""millhouse it's not a meme" it's a meme"" a meme?

No. But Moleman saying Buu-urns might be.

My ex-girlfriend straight up says she identifies with Lisa. She turned out to be a pretty terrible person.

It's not the point that he fails it's the point that she takes it for herself and makes Bart look more of a failure and robs him of the at least being the one who tried.

>giving a family member encouragement is 'ego boosting'

What the fuck

Sounds about right.

The first one was great, every other one follow the bullshit nu-simpsons bart is a failure at everything bullshit.

Maybe you should actually watch the episode
>She tries he doesn't
Episode is about him wanting to try things, but he always gets one upped so hard that he gets scared of trying again. He tries to be a professional skateboarder, Lisa one ups him and steals the credit. He tries to be something else instead, Lisa takes all the credit.

Its very relatable; when everything you try at instantly gets stolen from you, you want to damn stop trying, because you know they're just going to take this from you as well. The entire episode is about Bart wanting to try but knowing that anything he wants to do in life Lisa will instantly take from him as well, and he's sick of it, sick of not having a damn thing that can be his own without losing that as well. He tries to pick hobbies that she could never get involved in or that she could never take from him, and she still one upped him without trying.

His entire life was an inferiority complex, just like Olga from Hey Arnold. Parents didn't give a shit because of the non-fuck up child, his birthday is taken because Lisa did something, his hobby is taken because Lisa, his best friend is taken because Lisa. She can walk into his life and take everything easily, so he stopped trying, so that he didn't have to be hurt when he lost it anymore. Trying to be dispassionate from life like you don't care, when really it still upsets you how damn easy it is that its that easy to take it all from you.

Shift between ideologies over the years.

Originally Bart was the star, but after awhile Lisa because the star and Bart became the whipping boy. Its what happens when fans take over writing for a show. Lisa is the new age, liberal, mouthpiece. Kinda like Brian Griffin, she resonated with more current writers.

The shift with Lisa started during the vegetarian episode.

>Originally Bart was the star
So, in Season 1? Homer was the focus for most of the golden age.

I think for the first few seasons it was big about bart, then it become more about homer and later lisa.

I think you mean Helga, but Olga had her issues, too.

Olga had her issues, but almost all the attention was for olga. Her issues were entirely because her parents expected so much from her.

I liked it when Glen Quagmire called out Brian Griffin.

Hey! Old Glen's down at the soup kitchen every weekend to volunteer to feed the homeless.

He never sees Brian down there volunteering to help.

Felt so good watching Brian getting chewed the fuck up and spit out.

>inb4 assmad faggots say it's illegitimate since Quagmire is a rapist.

The truth is the truth, no matter where it is spoken from.

Even from Sup Forums.

Thing about quagmire is that he doesn't go around acting like he's better than everyone else. All brian does is bitch and judge christians and conservatives, but never once does anything to improve what he bitches about.

The problem with Barthood and episodes that has Lisa shitting on Bart, is that the writers take the stance that Lisa "has it worse" than Bart.

These writers have largely canonized/lionized the early Simpsons episodes (which are considered "classic" episodes) where Lisa is the family outcast/pariah, as far as painting Bart as someone who acts like a shit and gets away with murder while Lisa is the "good child" and gets shunned/ignored by her parents because of Bart's shennanigans. Not to mention the notion that Bart, for all of their fighting, is considered Homer's "favorite" of the kids and that Homer truly doesn't give a fucking shit about Lisa unless he can use/manipulate her for his own gain. Or that Marge truly doesn't give a shit about Lisa's isolation from those around her at school and the lack of role models that recognize her smarts and sensitivity.

To the modern writers, those episodes basically give Lisa an infinite "get out of jail free card". If anything, we are lucky the writers will even ENTERTAIN the idea of Bart as a fully developed character who has his own demons and fears and who the family treats like shit/ignores them when he does good.

Homer ever viewing bart as favorite? He strangled bart all the time, even in the classic episodes.

it was largely about Bart since Bart was Groening's self insert. That the rest of the Simpsons down to their first names are based on his own family is common knowledge

Bart is a shit 9/10 times and we're supposed to give him a pass because of the 1/10 times he does something decent?

He's just there to fuck the homeless women

No, the shift for Lisa becoming a horrible human being came two-fold:

1. When the voice actress for Lisa (who only does one character on the show) managed, as part of the core VO cast negotiating for more money about a decade ago, landing the same amount of money the other voice actors who do multiple roles, get.

As such, Fox didn't realize this until the deal was sign and as such, gave the order to push Lisa more and more to justify paying one woman who only did one character voice, the same money being paid to other actors who did multiple characters.

2. The voice actress started behaving like a bitch and basically throwing her weight around, pitching episode ideas and vetoing ANY Lisa episode/subplot where Lisa was not proven right and shown 100% perfect. She got so bad they eventually banned her from the writing room.

Earlier bart only did it for attention because everyone else discouraged him to try because nobody cared. In the lisa gets her saxaphone episode, barts kindergarden teacher he would never amount of anything and his parents showed no concern over it.

> Dr. Pryor: Heh, very good. Marge, Homer, I believe your Lisa may be gifted.
> Marge: That's wonderful! But still, can't you do anything for Bart?
> Homer: Marge, he's five, his life is over. Lisa's the wave of the future!
> Lisa: Wave of the future!

Bart was screwed from the age of 5.

Not to mention her voice actor is a loony $cientologists to boot. She money launders most of that money through her cult.

Yes.

What about that one where he was Neil Gorsuch?

And? It's always been his choice to be a douchebag. He enjoys it

You are one dumb lisa apologist and I bet you're a woman also.

no Bart's voice actor is the scientologist.
youtu.be/H96v0zFw-tA
this is real

>Everything resets in the Simpsons anyways.
While things in the Simpsons do reset there are enough repeat concepts that we can make an argument for character traits.

For example, given how many successful bands and musical acts Homer's been in, we can make a pretty good argument that Lisa gets her musical talent from her father.

And, in that same way, we can make a pretty strong case that Lisa is an incredibly jealous person that falls apart when actually challenged and will sabotage anyone that might one up her. She did it to Allison and then again to to Maggie a few seasons later. So why wouldn't she do it to Bart?

I'll take that as a concession.

Negative attention is better than none at all.
Kind of like how you're fishing for (you)s.

There was that jazz episode where Bart is a drumming savant and lisa gets spiteful

You know, it hit me, the writers are writing lisa as an SJW, with A LOT of entitlement and zero self awereness!

Lisa had absolutely ZERO self awareness in this godawful scene to better handle the situation and approach bart, his fucking brother and maybe try to figure out why he was so upset, you know, like siblings and brothers would do, is like lisa hates his brother but its ok with she getting worshiped.

But the writers have her always winning, always in favor of her, the universe always lets her get away.

And what''s worse is that the sick writers try to make us swallow the falsehood that this is somehow a good moral and that this is a very good thing and heartwarming, and that lisa was in the right even in the worst moment of the episode.

That is what i said when i think i would rather watch Shoujo Tsubaki than these type of episodes, since that at least was honest and knew that it tried to be a horrific tale of misery, in retrospect maybe i shouldn't had said that, but man this leaves a bad taste of mouth.

I hated that episode and it was bullshit that bart was made to be the bad guy because he was better than her at something.

>2. The voice actress started behaving like a bitch and basically throwing her weight around, pitching episode ideas and vetoing ANY Lisa episode/subplot where Lisa was not proven right and shown 100% perfect. She got so bad they eventually banned her from the writing room.

Wait. is this one true? liek at all?

A really long time ago before the Simpsons went to shit and both Lisa and Bart were likable characters; I remember saying to my cousin "Y'know you always reminded me of Lisa." and she said, "What? I always thought of you as Lisa!" and I said, "What?! I thought I was more like Bart."

I'm not too sure what that says about us.

Wow man I'm reading this and all I'm seeing is one huge projection screen of yourself

I would argue the opposite is true for Brian. He was initially the intelligent voice of reason, but now he's a liberal who is always shit on for moral grandstanding and generally being a failure who's "all talk". I don't like the change, but at least he's not infallible like Lisa is.

I thought it was kinda stupid how it was a sudden thing to have it all in one episode, because before that they've had friendly encounters and shit with each other just fine in past episodes. Hell Quagmire even let Brian and Stewie go with him in the fuck van. It would've made more sense if there was a slow build up that you can kinda see in the background happening between them but it was never there.

Shame, I could do a future episode that's better than this crap the writers pull from their butts.

I'll give you two hours from now for you to write a plot outline and see if you can actually do it. Otherwise just shut the fuck up and leave the thread.

>Ketchup on steak
he should have stayed dead.

Not him, but how about Lisa and Milhouse are married and Lisa cucks him with Nelson and he's actually the father of one of their kids but Milhouse never finds out.

Terrible and meme-y, but I bet it would've taken an entire day for the current writers to come up with that when it only took you at least 3 minutes

Funny enough wasn't there an episode where Bart was way better than Lisa at Jazz so she does something that results in Bart getting injured and giving it up?

There was also that bit where she acted like Bart never did anything for her when she put a restraining order on him when he definitely had done so

I know lack of continuity and such but bitch tends to forget these things

Nice non-argument.

Can't be worse than anything the writers have produced anyway.

Brian intos SJW episode when?
