Obi Wan baited Anakin by saying "it's over, I have the high ground." Obi Wan's single greatest achievement is beating Darth Maul, beating the first Sith Lord anyone has ever seen in the last 1000 years. I'm sure Obi Wan and other people have told Anakin multiple times the tale of Obi Wan Force Jumping and cutting Maul in half.

Dumb brainlet Anakin thought it would be classical pottery when Obi Wan baited him by saying "it's over" he would pull the exact move Obi Wan was famous for and kill him that way. He do not consider this is yomi keikaku level 3 and this is exactly what Obi Wan baited him to do, Obi Wan was ready and cut the poor guy into 4 pieces with one slice.

Maul isn't on ground though he's on a floor in a concrete structure. Technically Ben is closer the terra ferma and can therefore harness the power of the high ground. Maul realized that, and that's why he didn't even bother attacking when Ben was doing flips over him.

If you watch the scene, you see that he said that just after reading Anakin's mind, and then Anakin performs the movement Obi Wan did against Darth Maul. I think it's Obi Wan saying to Anakin: Don't try to best me now with that shit, I know you're desperate to show how superior you are even in my own games, but I've read you and I don't wanna cut you in half.

Min 4. May be subtle, but Obi Wan's facial expression followed by "don't try it" is the moment when Anakin lost the fight. Basically up form that moment Anakin lost it and basically decided to go full telegraphed. Before that they were equal in the fight (e. g. the infamous parry bait scene where they just spin their sabers in front of each others) but Anakin went full retard at the end.
