OH SHIT ITS TIME TO HAVE A REDDIT THREAD?!?!

holy fuck I just finished s03e03 and the fucking trollfaces, this is comedy gold

Top 3 are probably White Christmas, Entire History of You and Be Right Back

Bottom: Black Museum, Waldo and Callister (for actual reasons not just muh SJW)

>The future of "Black Mirror" remains up in the air, as Netflix has yet to renew the anthology series for a fifth season.

The streaming giant released all six episodes of the show's fourth season in December. Shortly after that, series creator Charlie Brooker was asked byMetro.co.ukabout a possible fifth season, which Netflix has yet to order. Should the show get another chance, though, Brooker would be up for the task.

"We would love to do it," Brooker, along with executive producer Annabel Jones, said. "We're focusing on series four at the moment."

>Callister
it was funny at least. Crocodile and Metalhead were shit all the way

>With so many technological advancements in the works, Brooker certainly has a broad range of material to take inspiration from. Back in July 2017, Brooker teased the potential of revisiting past "Black Mirror" stories and creating sequels for them. He revealed, while speaking on Variety's Remote Controlled podcast (viaIndieWire), that ideas have been tossed around.

"We've had ideas for sequels to stories as well, which is something we haven't entirely explored," he said. "I wouldn't be averse to it."

And, should sequels or spin-offs ever get made, there are two stand-out episodes that come to mind. The first one is the season 3 episode, "San Junipero," which received critical acclaim. Brookerpreviously contemplatedon making a sequel to the episode — though not a direct one — in a different way. Apart from that, the most recent season's "USS Callister" also has a chance of spinning off on its own.

WOT IF

>being shit is ok as long as you have quips

in the end its an entertainment show

>"I'd love to do a TV series of 'USS Callister' — it's probably one of the best pilots for a space show ever. And I made it! So I'm keen to see it as a TV series," the episode's director, Toby Haynes, toldThe Hollywood Reporter. "I think Charlie might revisit it as a 'Black Mirror.' Whether I'm the one to do it, I don't know."

WOT IF EMAILS COULD SNEEZE

Waldo was fucking awful, who put that shite idea forward

>so many technological advancements
> broad range of material to take inspiration from
everything is a VR and thinking avatars

Someone who could see the future

What was wrong with Metalhead?
It was different and tense. The only thing I'll critique is the dumb walkie-talkie talk.

The idea was kinda interesting, just the execution which was shit.

If Waldo was actually charismatic/funny, it would have been more convincing, but he was just an annoying prick.

It would be good as some standalone episode of a scifi show like ST or SG. It had nothing to do with Black Mirror. Basically Terminator with dogs. Also full of plot holes and stupid shit. Same goes for Crocodile

Different article

>in the past Charlie Brooker has revealed that he had an idea for a sequel to season two episode ‘White Bear’. Speaking toThe Independenthe explained it was “more a zombie apocalypse type thing about a journalist and this signal bouncing about the globe” but added it could be difficult to do, saying: “It’d probably be a heck of a job to go back and recreate the entire fucking park because it’s gone now. It might work better as a graphic novel or something like that.” So if we do get a season five, is this a sequel we could see?

But we do know some ideas that probably won’t happen. Throughout the four series’ Black Mirror has genre hopped between a variety of different themes. Speaking toNMECharlie Brooker explained that the superhero genre wasn’t something he was especially interested in, saying: “I’m not that interested in superheroes generally because there’s so many of them around…If we were to do superheroes…it’s hard to see what hasn’t already been done! ‘Iron Man’ is a bit of a Black Mirror superhero story in many ways, as is ‘Kick-Ass’, so it’d be a tricky one.”

>"I'd love to do a TV series of 'USS Callister'
fuck off brooker

Top 3
> White Christmas
> Entire History of You
> San Junipero ( fite me)

Worst 3
> Men Against Fire
> Black Museum
> Crocodile

Haven't watched Metal Head yet. Season 4 pretty much feels like pseudo philosophical M Night Shymalan in a dystopia to me and it makes me pretty anxious for Season 5

You can make Callister 10/10 by changing one scene

If you're retreading ideas in a fucking anthology show it's time to stop

>San Junipero
absolute trash. A bait for millenials.

>Worst 3
my nigger

>And could we see a sequel to San Junipero in the next season?

Almost certainly not. When NME asked about a sequel to the fan favourite episode, Brooker responded: “In terms of a sequel to San Junipero, no, certainly not in its current form – I don’t think we’d revisit those characters unless we had a really, really good reason – and I very much doubt that we would do that as an episode. Maybe as a graphic novel or some sort of commemorative biscuit; but we wouldn’t want to pick that apart and tinker with it, as we’d like to leave Kelly and Yorkie where they are.”

Anyone that doesn't have 15 Million Merits in their top 3 should just stick to superhero movies

t. a cuck or a nigger

>And what about a Black Mirror film?

Brooker has revealed that a movie would be unlikely, telling NME: “We would need a really good idea to do a movie…because we feel like they’re little movies anyway, so unless we had an idea that needed 300 million dollars, I think we’re incredibly lucky to be doing what we’re doing.”

WOT IF X FACTOR WAS BAD AND PEOPLE HATED FATTYS INNIT

Yes, I'd love to see Jimmy Simpson's dick too.

>hive mind

>one of the most clumsy and ham-fisted episodes should be on top
Ironic a capebabby would suggest others are.

Wasn't there an upcoming black mirror book? Why reuse plots? They're literally using the same cookie tech stuff for most episodes already.

I started thinking about San Junipero and I think I like that episode the most.

>Is there going to be a fifth season ofBlack Mirror?

At the moment, it’s unconfirmed either way. However fans have reasons to be hopeful about future instalments: speaking toThe Hollywood Reporterexecutive producer Annabel Jones expressed interest at doing further series, saying: “We love making the show. It’s an utter privilege to be able to curate six films. It’s the stuff of dreams. So we would love to do more and hopefully there will be a conversation with Netflix, but at the moment we’re just wanting everyone to hopefully enjoy season four.”

>what if we made virtual afterlife
>it would be a virtual afterlife
That's literally the whole episode, user.

Hang The DJ was better mostly because it had a hotter black chick desu

wot if be steal the concept from BSG Caprica. No one will know

bruv wot if counter consumer was turned into consumer itself n changed nuffink senpai

The only people who like that episode are the people living it.

But nobody cares about your shitty space-soap anyways.

I liked that one, but wasn't a fan of how they slutted her out. But then again it was a simulation.

>have you seen the Black Mirror
>soooooo fresh

It's not like she had a choice, also she basically hated every second of it

In 100 years people will probably live in a virtual world. Look at VR chat now and see how that could evolve into People living inside that shit.

This is literally me when I go out.

I think things are starting to get a bit out of hand.

>ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Loved this episode. It’s inspired I assume by those Boston Dynamics videos on YouTube crossed withNight of the Living Dead?
CHARLIE BROOKER: That’s actually scarily correct. It was from watching Boston Dynamics videos, but crossed with — have you seen the filmAll Is Lost? I wanted to do a story where there was almost no dialogue. And with those videos, there’s something very creepy watching them where they get knocked over, and they look sort of pathetic laying there, but then they slowly manage to get back up.

>You never filled in questions such as: How did the robots take over? Is anybody controlling them? Did you figure that out and is there any backstory you can share?
We sort of deliberately decided not to flesh out a lot of the backstory. Originally in my first draft, we also showed a human operator operating the dog robot from across the ocean at his house. There was a bit I liked where he leaves the [control unit] while the robot is watching her while she’s upin the tree and he goes and gives his kids a bath. But it felt a bit weird and too on-the-nose. It kind of felt superfluous. We deliberately pared it back and did a very simple story.

Top 3: Entire History of You, Shut Up and Dance, White Christmas

>she's a slut cause she had sex

WOT IF FIRE BAD

>Why did you shoot black and white? Was it just to be evocative? Or did it also save on CG costs to render the dog?
That was the director, David Slade. He wanted it to be black and white. Like you say it does put you in mind of old horror movies and it fit with the sparse,pared-back nature of the story. I don’t think it saved money on CG. It felt like something I hadn’t seen before — doing lots of CG in black and white.

Finally started watching this show
First episode was ok, but very predictable. Only twist was lame and didn't have any punch.
Second episode was pretty awful. A lame, toothless THX-1138 (or any future dystopia shit) and so fucking preachy. Does it get better?

It's like Twilight Zone, just with no subtle moments and a hamfisted moral shoved right up your ass. Throw in a twist that is bland and often weakens the rest of the episode..

That's what Black Mirror is.

>Does it get better?

Nope, over-hyped garbage normally playing on millennial's fears

>In 100 years people will probably live in a virtual world.

More like ten. Amounts of money in VR are too massive for it to be slacked at.

Think of it like this:

>commercial VR, videogames
>gives birth to commerce application
>introduces telelabor
>used to develop techcommerce application
>ie automation
>used to physically expand (think Mars)
>used to evolve tech

etc.
