Stop buying Blu Rays. Useless fucking garbage

Stop buying Blu Rays. Useless fucking garbage.

COULD YOU IMAGINE INHERITING THAT ? YUCK!

>top 5 signs you're in some manchild's rape dungeon

What's with the padded walls?

Can I buy books?

I like box art and collecting things. I don't have near that amount but it's nice if you have guests over and you can't think of something to do you can just invite them to look at your shit.

>asking Sup Forums for permission to do shit

If you read them.

>Look everyone! My home is like the store I go to!

>t. DVD boi

Why do you care?

"my gf says if I get enough husband points I can pick one off the shelf to watch for movie night with her and tyrone!"

dissipates the screams

this. i only buy DVD (much cheaper) and ONLY if they got audio commentaries
no other reason

>he covers his wall with plastic cases and discs and claims he isn't a horder
LOL

Nice bijjjjuold collection
No hidalg?

You need one of these.

Why not just get it digital? You don't have any new clutter around your place and you don't have to put it in. You can just pull it up in 2 seconds.

Just bought the Criterion Collection Before Trilogy, any other anons make some kino purchases lately?

>horder
The utter state of digitalfags.

No, just get a better collection. Your shits all gay and shit.

I got the breakfast club criterion

I will never understand why people buy movies they have never seen or will only watch once. But owning certain things like your favorite movies special edition or some of your favorite tv show seasons like the simpsons or something makes sense

That's even worse, you faggot. And the price difference isn't that big either.

What do you think of my collection anons?

>I like box art and collecting things.
This, mostly.

And it is fun to casually show off.

For the same reason they buy books they have never read and will probably only read once. Or art objects that will just hang on a wall or sit on a shelf.

I never buy anything I don't intend to at least watch once and expect to enjoy, though. After that, if I turn out to not enjoy it, I can always get rid of it on ebay or something.

Reading is for soyboys.

Shit taste but presented nicely.

I got the shout factory releases of Misery and Army of Darkness.

i luv suber heero moobies

Lupin III Part 2: Set 2
Herzog: The Collection

I have nearly 400 Blu-Rays and that's about 8 years of collecting. But I don't get it. Why buy all the fucking movies? The once you may watch one time and that is it?

But also Blu-Rays are cheap as fuck if you don't buy them in release. Wait couple of months and you get the same movie half the price or two movies at half a price of one new!

what else should they buy?

sad

>SUBERHERO MOOBIES

DRM.

Now you have to get the 4k versions nigga.

...

Why the fuck is your basement padded like that? Are you a sick fuck or what?

Collector's Items.

>Not pirating movies but buying the ones you really like

lmao

Good god

real talk do you guys watch movies more than once or twice? I don't think I've watched any movie since I was a kid more than a few times except maybe a few rifftraxs

I make it a point to watch all of these once a year, I never get tired of them:
Pulp Fiction
Alien
Aliens
Halloween
Airplane
Blade Runner
Return of the Living Dead
Star Wars 1-6
Cowboy Bebop The Movie
The Thing
The Shining
and most recently Hateful Eight I've seen thrice

>i'm an anti-art pleb and therefore everyone else must be too
That's your problem, not anyone else's. I've seen many films 3+times, e.g. Chinatown, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut, Days of Heaven, etc, and have gained new insights each time.

Oh god, what a fucking useless collection.

Not only do they not look cool (at least something like vinyl has some aesthetic appeal) but they are completely retarded in use

Like the physical process of having to manually locate the video, open it, insert the disc, wait for the system to load, go through a menu screen, etc. is like prehistoric compared to our technology today

why though

>buying multiple editions of the same shitty movie

Why do some people get so triggered by physical media so much? It's not circumcision, people.

>watching blu rays is too much work
You must be really fat and impatient, even by American standards.

>manually locate the video
Unless you can't into organization, this is not hard.

>open it, insert the disc, wait for the system to load, go through a menu screen
Takes like 30 seconds, tops. I can remember when we might have to rewind the tape. How fucking lazy are you?

>4 thor's

>reading paper books

can i borrow your tape player too, grandpa?

I like qbittorent

how much for egg crate noise padding shit?
i can use that for one of my rooms

why does it stall all the time though. Pisses me off

Deluge is best.

I spent 5 grand on Beta Max tapes!!!!

Of shitty movies from the 70s...

Blue scrotum man?

>Dad's been collecting VHS tapes for decades
>has recorded thousands of TV movies on tape
>said me and my brother can have them
>absolutely horrid quality compared to shit I could just get off the internet, if the tapes are even still good when he dies
T-thanks. I guarantee he probably has some recordings worth money of stuff that never got released on DVD though.

>he doesn't maintain ownership of his content by means of durable storage media

Stay pleb.

The issue is a lot of people on Sup Forums watch movies on their computer, and Bluray's are absolutely not PC-friendly compared to DVD's. You're only options are using MakeMKV or pirating software that can play Blurays natively. 4k Blurays are even more consumer-hostile, so those will never take off among people that live on their computer.

No you dumb soyboy.
Now that I called you soyboy you need to sell all the things you enjoy sorry kiddo.

Yeah you can digitize it and upscale it on a computer getting a respectable DVD quality rip.

Not PC friendly? I stick the disc in, it plays in my player of choice or I rip it with MakeMKV. No different than a DVD.

What is that wall asshole?

That’s gotta be thousands of dollars worth of blue rays. Honestly, what the fuck is this? How can anyone spend so many hours of their lives to mindless entertainment? It’s appalling. Try investing your time into something more productive, like reading.

Drywall might be a better investment.

>LE lAZY meme

no you retard, it's called not wanting to waste time

>why do you drive a car instead of walk?! how lazy are you XD

If those movies were Kino I would understand, but having special collector editions of shit like I am Legend and Wanted is sad.

The environment jews have enslaved millions into becoming childless manbabbies

have you posted this in a shelf thread before?

Okay. Looks like each section holds about 45 disc cases. There are 23 full sections of disc cases. That means we are roughly looking at 1,035 bluray disc cases. Lets assume he bought them as they came out at full price. They mostly range from $21.99 to $24.99. Lets call it $23.50.

You're looking at $24,323 worth of bluray DVDs.

But what pisses me off is the unfinished walls in the basement.

The cost to install drywall is about $1.50 per square foot. After material and labor are added in, the cost per panel can range from around $40.00 to $60.00. A typical 12x12 room, for example, will use 12 panels. This would put the cost at $480.00-$720.00. At the most, it would have cost him 31 bluray dvds.

That’s a fun list.
I am looking forward to rewatching Hateful 8

>Watching movies

Pathetic.

This isnt your book collection, is it?

based

And this

Digital books are the worst thing that happened to literature.

There's something really pathetic about people taking pride in showing off pieces of mass produced plastic that takes zero effort to accumulate. Thousands wasted in both money and hours lived.
They've nearly always got that beige painted wall, thin gray carpet and one harsh lightbulb that screams zero taste and disposable income that I imagine leads a Toy Story existence of coming to life and wistfully dreaming of being spent in a pub or on a fun activity like all the cool currency does.
