how did Obi Wan afford his car?
do Jedi get good benefits?
what's the tax rate like on coruscant
How did Obi Wan afford his car?
The yellow color made me think they just hijacked a taxicab
Why would taxis be yellow in a galaxy far, far away?
he stole it.
"you don't need to call the troopers."
"... I don't need to call the troopers."
"you're happy to let us take your air car."
"I'm... happy to let us take your air car."
"You want to buy these death sticks."
"now just wait a fucking minute - "
The quip in this scene was pretty decent, Hayden's inflection was just off a bit.
Anakin had to steal that car, if you remember.
Yes, he stole it.
Inb4 jedi morals, blah blah, etc
>Why would taxis be yellow in a galaxy far, far away?
Why would they speak english in a galaxy far far away
Why would diners be 50's in a galaxy far far away?
Why do they speak English there?
how come the guns look like guns in a galaxy far far away and not like something else?
in Stargate the Goa'uld rifles look like staves, as a natural but slightly different development from polearms as our own rifles developed
It's a jedi company car, like the jedi company star fighters.
Jedi do get some sort of stipend for their various missions though. Qui-Gon had some republic credits provided for him.
why would a bounty hunter hire another bounty hunter to hunt the bounty he was hired to hunt?
do they get money from the government? or donations like medieval monks, or maybe some Tithe from Jedi controlled areas.
if the jedi can drain so much money no wonder people were sick of them
They are technical a part of the Republic government I guess and Qui-Gon and Obi-wan were sent as diplomats representing the Republic so I'm guessing they are the BBC of the Republic.
isn't that a bit of conflict of interest?
They fucking stole it
>jedi morals
why do people keep thinking this? jedi were peacekeepers, not role models. they did what had to be done to keep order. if a unruly mob needed to be put down they put them down, they werent nice peoples, why else would they carry swords that could cut through anything, instead of some sort of club that would shock you and knock you out?
shut the fuck up
Does the Jedi Temple have its own driving schools and licensing authority or do all jedi have to visit the Coruscant Transport Department to get their licenses (and go back every 3-5 years to get it renewed)?
Because literally hell.
Because a galaxy far, far away is literally Brooklyn
Bullshit
I'll have you know the Republic is a good democratic government, don't question why they have a order of monks with the ability to read and manipulate minds under their belt that are a 5 minute drive away from the seat of government.
Republican credits will do fine.
Well meme'd, my friend.
Because wooOo mystery
BBC is a news and media corporation whats does this have to do with the jedi has diplomat/speical agents
what would the Jedi have done if they had managed to take Palpatine captive and possibly execute him?
wouldn't they have dissolved the government? or even put some Jedi oligarchy in charge.
so Palpitine saying the Jedi wanted to bring down the republic was true wasn't it?
Why would a construction company subcontract another construction company to construct the construction they were hired to construct?
The Jedi order was fine with slavery.
Because people jerk off about Luke in the OT, that's literally it. Brainlets still don't understand that Lucas was trying to tell the story of how the Jedi had become lazy and corrupt at the end of the republic. He tries to convey this a little bit it in Clones with Samuel Jackson saying we're keepers of the peace, not soldiers, but the writing was so infantile it falls pretty flat.
The idea of the Prequels was to show how the apathy and complacency of the Jedi ultimately led to their undoing. Even Yoda, who was so blindsided by the fact that Palpatine flew under his radar that he goes into hiding for the rest of his life.
the jedi technically arent supposed to be involved with the republic government unless the republic asks for help or if they think the sith are involved
obviously any jedi that sees atrocity being committed are honor bound to stop it
No they wouldn't have done that, but I'm sure if they executed Palatine the Senate would freak out and there might be a power struggle
The Jedi benefited from the republic's continued existence much the way a symbiotic parasite benefits from its host.
The Prequels could have been so much better and they didn't even need to change the story. If this was executed with a well written script and good direction the Prequels would have been GOAT
it's yellow to reference this I think
happyvideonetwork.com
come to think of it, it was a good choice, it stands out well against the coruscant backdrop
Cover his tracks
It didn't work
Call a snap election
Tax evasion
Trumpf owns helicopters and planes thru three shells
I wish I lived on Naboo
naboo in loo
I remember seeing Attack of the Clones in theatres on release
was pretty intense imo, especially that scene in the asteroid belt
