What happens at 48%?

What happens at 48%?

We crash the franchise......with no sirvivors

Scott Mendelson kills himself

god's gonna shake his mighty head

This but unironically.

we'll have about 30 more threads about the 1% drop

with the caption "OH NONONONON-HAUHUAHUAHAUA"

The Star Wars fanbase becomes 1% more annoying and racist

Another thread on Sup Forums opens up

DCucks win (in their head)

The mouse pushes its double-headed lightsaber another inch up Rian Johnson's and kathleen Kennedy's asses.

The audience admit they were wrong

Vladimir Putin signs off a nice bonus payment at the end of the month.

Disney is going to have those dumb certified fresh stickers plaster all of the Blu-rays.

When this baby hits 48%, you're going to see some serious shit.

>The movie still made a profit
Yeah, right

>What happens at 48%?
WE WIN!!!!
SOYBOYS BTFO!!!!!!

HAIL TRUMP

Spam it, Spam it!

Nothing. 49% is already terrible and jews should hang themselves.

Most likely this.

Proft is not enough in business. Return on Investment and risk analysis will come into play.

Truly the Jews have been struck a fatal blow.

user, they just found out they can piss off the original fan base and still make a billion dollars.
You are very very stupid if you think this movie is a failure.

There's an interesting discrepancy if you look at the number of user ratings compared with box office numbers for the other highest grossing films of 2017.

When I want to feel smart, I just a spend a few minutes on a Star Wars forum. They're like toddlers.

A billion dollar revenue means jack shit if you consider the amount of money invested and returning cash flow is just trickle after production/marketing costs, theatre's shares and taxes. If you don't make at least an anual 5% profit over your invested capital, buying Lucasfilms was not a good investment, at least in the short-term.

I guess more people come out to vote negatively?

Merchandising.
That's all you need of SW.

I can't quantifiably agree with that statement, but the total number is way higher than it should be.

Nobody is buying the merchandise Shlomo, because nobody cares about the characters.

Not sure man, you need to look at more variables than just high grossing movies. Wonder woman for example had 120k people voting and it made 2/3 of the money SW did

Once a legit copy is freely able available for download, streaming and all that shit the score will nosedive a further 10 points.

39% disapproval rating and then maybe climb back up to 42-45% between then and episode IX.

if IX sucks then TLJ will get even more hate and it will be Rian ruined the entire trilogy.

>people have strong feelings about it
>more likely to vote
not strange at all...

This.

The outrage addict crowd will have moved on to something else by then. Or maybe it will go up when they actually see the movie.

I see people saying that if ep.9 doesn't fix this shit they're done.
I heard similar shit after ep. 7 took a wet shit in everyone's mouth.
Since TLJ did about half of TFAs performance, I wonder how many fans walked away from Star Wars after this flick?
Will it crash and burn?
Some folks were excited to find out what the fuck was going on after JJ turned star wars into an episode of Lost.
Many found the reveals less than satisfying.
I'd wager Ep. 9 does less than 1 billion worldwide.
Less than 800 million if Solo is the disaster it appears poised to be.

Serious question.
I hated TFA.
So much so, I skipped R1 and TLJ in theaters.
I saw Ep 4. In theaters as a kid (I know I'm fucking old). And every other installment up until then.
Do you think I'll like TLJ?

Prolly not. What didn't you like about Siete?

There's a chance you'd like it. The Force Awakens is Star Wars comfort food and and The Last Jedi is the opposite of that while still rhyming.

don't underestimate the number of people too poor to go the theatres and too stupid to download a torrent.

on a positive note if IX turns out decent by some miracle, TLJ will probably be regarded as a necessary stepping stone and get a 60% approval.

the fate of Rian's film rests in JJ's hands now.

Kennedy and Johnson are responble for this shitfest. I can't beleive Mark Hamill will die knowing that this crap was his last take on Star Wars.

Wasn't the critics rating was 93%?

Mostly likely not.

Take the movie budget. Double it. That's AN IDEA of what what they need to break even.
Then consider the endless cash cow that is merchandising, even though it's not doing well compared to what they expected. It really it an endless cash cow.
I'm sorry, I'm really sorry user. I'm so sorry. This movie is not a failure.

I think it undermined everything about the OT and the Force.
It invalidated all the actions and accomplishments that Luke, Han, Leia and the Alliance to Restore the Republic managed.
It made its Antagonist look weak and childish, not a threat considering
It made its Protagonist look like Godmode Cheatcode Enabled.
The fact that is was nostalgia bait pandering and derivative was the least of my issues with it.

TFA was more like bad Chinese food to me.

>I see people saying that if ep.9 doesn't fix this shit they're done.
They're retards. They should've stopped giving Disney money already. These soyheads are going to pay for Obi-Wan and Rian Johnson's Zero Baggage original trilogy.

Don't be so fucking naive.
If 100,000 people buy a 5 dollar porg doll, that's 500,000 dollars. If 100,000 people buy a 9.99 Kylo Ren replica light-saber, that's near a million.
If my exaggerated numbers are meaningless to you then remember they own the rights to
>Millennium falcon
>Yoda
>Darth Vader
>Stormtroopers
>Lightsabers
>and so on and so on and so on and so on
Has it clicked for you yet user? How they can shit on Star Wars as much as they want and make billions?

That 500000 isn't going into LucasFilms pocket though. It's going into Hasbros.
Whatever money LAL was going to make on merch, it already made when it sold the IP rights to Hasbro.
It might make a percentage of total sales, but the bulk of the earnings were already made.
And if the shit don't sell, when it's time to re up the liscencing agreement Hasbro will likely low ball or bail.

Most of the fools that buy Star Wars merch are fat fuck, comic book store neckbeards and /tg/ geeks (such as myself).
You know, the same privileged shitlord who are being told to fuck off from the franchise at every turn.
And in a shocking turn of events, the merch doesn't move.
Anecdotal, but telling: I like in an area with a lot of kids, ages 5 and up. A lot. A large group of boys play at the house across the street. I see them playing all the time.
I have yet to fee any lightsabers, Millennium Falcons, Darth Vaders, Yodas, Crylos or even Star Wars t shirts.
None. Not one. In over 3 years.
Not... One...

when it reaches 47% the plinkett review drops

*live
Fuck phone posting.

You're peanuts compared to parents. Disney doesn't need you.

I was going to make fun of you for being a retard, but when I checked Amazon, there's only one Star Wars toy in top 20 toys and games. Only two if you narrow it down to action figures. Guardians of the Galaxy and Rick and Morty are both more popular than Star Wars now it seems.

Its because all of the characters suck.

The only character selling well is Kylo and that's probably because he's a fucking Vader knock off.

>"he" paid to see this twaddle
lmfao

an it'd probably not children or parents buying the rick and morty merch

This is not how investors think. If you expected a profit of 1M and got 750k, investors won't thank you for the money, they'll pressure you to earn them back their 250k. Now, merchandise is still a thing, and it's Disney's biggest portion of the revenue. They're fine.

BvS made 800 million but look at Justice League

Anyone who expected more hadn't looked at past stats at all. It's right where it should be.

The opposite is the case: even rich parents will usually only buy their children toys sporadically, whereas nerds will be sure to buy everything on the stock list. And then you also have to factor in multiples. A child isn't likely to own more than one storm trooper; a nerd is. A child isn't going to want more than one version of Kylo; a nerd is.

Can someone explain what's the real reason normies hate that movie? is it because Luke dies?

By normie I mean the kind of retard who laughs at superhero movie *jokes*

>average rating: 3/5
>49%
>3/5 = 60%
>2/5 = 40%

Yeah, that's why the anime industry supports itself on children and not the adult otaku that spend hundreds of dollars a month on plastic butts. (like me)

He farms gold, he uploads, he downloads, he pants loads, he MGTOWs, he cube codes, he Insta-chodes, he’s friendzoned, he faps alone, he dates low, he marries old, he’s sorta ‘mo (he’s proud to show), he cornholes, he corn sows, he’s a cuddle pro, he tucks a micro, he’s equality yo, he’s a harmless bro, he fucks slow (first licks her hole), no means no (as he well knows), he’s wow just wow (brash scares him so), he’s status quo, he’s a quota goat, his girlfriend’s gross (he won’t tell her though), he nuzzles cows, he scrapes and bows, he’s a cog-to-go, he lovves a ho, his titties grow, he’s GIRL YOU GO!, his ex-wife’s boyfriend spends his dough, his girlfriend fucked an asshole…

The anime industry is peanuts next to the movie industry.

The point is that the 20 something toy collectors are where the biggest merchandise money is, not children and parents.

New deathstar?

It won't get there because sleemos have short attention spans.

The anime industry last year moved as much money as 60% of Hollywood, and It's growing, outscaling western entertainment at a brisk pace

They learned they lose 800 million dollars if they piss off their fans, you daft cunt.
That’s not factoring in loss of further consumption of goods from alienating them.

You’re a moron if you think that this is a positive result.

All the sales figures seem to say otherwise.

> HURR DURR IS FER KEEDS
> Nissan marketing promotion
> Gillette shaver tie in
What did they mean by this?

We don't know... we just don't know.

Invasion.

>if IX sucks then TLJ will get even more hate
No one gonna watch IX. Unless they show Obi-Wan coming back as cyborg killing Jar Jar on the trailer.
The hype is dead.

The anime industry is also focused almost entirely in Japan while Hollywood is worldwide. The most recent numbers I could find were Hasbro doing a hair over 3 billion and Kotobukiya doing 2.2 billion in 2002. I'd really like to see NECA's profits, but I'm having a hard time finding numbers.

Just a guess.
I think it might have to do with TLJ shitting on all the speculation after TFA?
Or maybe it just actually is a shit movie?
Maybe dressing a capeshit flick with a Star Wars skin doesn't work as well as LucasFilms thought?
I dunno.
If I meet a normie, I'll ask.

You don't read very well, do you?
Kids aren't playing with this shit.
Which means:
Parents aren't buying it.
Faggot.

You're missing the point. Star Wars is a merchandise driven productr and DISNEY own EVERYTHING Star Wars. Think of all the inconic imagery. The movies just existing drive people to buying more Star Wars shit and purchasing the old films/cartoons/games/whatver. It doesn't matter how bad the new films are.

George Lucas is a fucking idiot for selling Star Wars.

>you daft cunt.
I know it's scary to feel powerless in the shadow of the Disney money making machine, but don't take it out on me
>You’re a moron if you think that this is a positive result.
I KNOW it's not a positive result. For fuck sake, the STATE of Sup Forums. You've missed the point. You're all so blinded by childish anger you're doing mental gymnastics to convince yourselves Disney isn't swimming in cash.

I'm more interested in knowing what happens at 47%...

No, you will not like it.

hyperspace ram it

It's a bad movie.

Normies aren't another race, user, they're just people. They don't even laugh at superhero quips that much any more.

>For fuck sake, the STATE of Sup Forums.
When did this board become overrun with delusional morons? I get not liking the film but saying it failed is utterly ridiculous.

But normies love bad movies, that's why they are normies. I think Disney abused everyone expectations and... well, is a very, very shit movie.

Everyone knows it made a profit.
You just seem to be under the delusion that Disney is happy with just making a profit.

>George Lucas is a fucking idiot for selling Star Wars.
How old is he? At his age, a big enough lump sum would very, very likely be more than what he could have feasibly gotten through royalties and shit the rest of his life.

>You just seem to be under the delusion that Disney is happy with just making a profit.
>i have no evidence to support my claim

But its not a bad movie

More JUST and *Inhales* posts

900 million. It deserved more.

Disney infinity
It made money, but was canceled because it didn't make enough.

At 48% we start waiting for 47%.

It is a bad movie. It's objectively the worst Star Wars movie, and that aside, it's just a terrible movie in general that manages to contradict itself, and trip over its own themes.

Johnson is a fuckin jellyfish retard.

TFA was irredemeably shit, R1 and TLJ were campy but fun to watch
>skipped R1 and TLJ in theaters.
Why the hell would you do that, that's like watching avatar in 480p

Tfas only comforting if you dont pay attention to anything thats going on. They pretty much broke han solos character arc before lukes. Goes to show how much shut people will slurp up before they realize theyre in a shitpile.

I cant wait for the ten year period down the line where everyone laughs at the morons who brought a true mary sue into the franchise thus turning it into twilight tier story writing.
