I gentuinely liked it. Witch had something most modern hollwood jump scare kinda of horror films don't. It depicted the occult as deeply profane and unholy. Over the span of the movie you could feel the family moving away from the light and loving grace of God to something so unclean and vile that their souls are doomed for eternity and will again find salvation.

Yeah sorry I meant "never again find salvation." I'm on my phone so couldn't type. I'm not a religious person but to a religious fanatic from the 17th century the greatest horror in the world is them and their loved ones losing their place in heaven. Throughout the movie the family franfically tried to avert their doom by praying to God to have mercy on them and save them but in they were damned. The fathers pride in leaving the town and the church because he disagreed with its doctrine was the undoing of everyone. They never had a chance.
