Read the first book and loved it.

Was thinking of starting the show, but don't know if I should read farther or not bother because it's so different or not worth watching.

Never see it discussed here much.

I watched the first 3 episodes of this show and it was so laughably bad that I couldn't continue
Usually that's not a deciding factor for me, I've liked a lot of terrible ass shows
But this shit is on a whole other level of cringeworthy

Main character gets cucked for being a fag and cheating on his super hot big titted girlfriend by having a threesome with the bitch and the gay guy from the group. The guy who fucks his gf is supposed to be this pasty punk guy in the books but they made him a brown guy in the show.

The show is very little like the books but apparently it stands on its own. I honestly couldn't stand it after the first episode.

My Gf tried to get me to watch this show, but it just felt like harry potter for millennial 20-somethings.
characters are mostly cringy and annoying.

It does poke fun at that hipster-jerks-with-magicke setting though - it is a bit self-aware.

I've only seen the first season, and I liked it.
It's filled with stupid clichés, but is fully aware of it and plays with it in interesting ways. It also gets surprisingly dark.
And one of the chicks drinks a glass of literal cum.

But it's not amazing. Especially the first few episodes. But it gets better the more it goes on and explores the characters and stops being a poor man's Harry Potter.

I've watched all of it. Main character is shinji-tier, so I just ignore him most of the time. Makes fun of a lot of tropes in fantasy and other genres. Everyone is good looking. 2nd season get's a bit darker.

I was pleasantly surprised by it. Though I kind of hate the word magicians to convey people that do actual magic, it makes sense though.

Well there are shenanigans for sure, just not between fairie folk. At least not as far as a I know, season 3 has only 1 episode.
