It's not gonna win anything is it

It's not gonna win anything is it..

well that's because it's incredibly mediocre

>too many white people
Very problematic desu, doesn't deserve to win anything

ummm they don't even call the germans nazis

Nolan is on the industry black list.

Same with Gary Oldman.

What part of 'The age of white men is over' did you not understand?

This and 2049 will be competing in pretty much every category they're nominated for

No, sadly. Awards will be virtue signaling only for the next two or three years, which will make their ratings bleed and they'll return to the usual "award a nigger or a woman director every 10 years".

Can you Sup Forumstards go away please. The frontrunners for the big awards this year ARE films with white people (bar Get Out)

>films with white people
yes and they are sjw themed

This but unironically.

Wait, you guys actually think the lack of ethnic minorities is the reason Dunkirk won't win anything substantial?

Dunkirk isn't even Nolan's best work and none of his films have been awarded anything major so why would that change now? Some directors' work just isn't for awards. Kubrick's work never won anything either.

>you guys actually think the lack of ethnic minorities is the reason Dunkirk won't win anything substantial?
yes
>Dunkirk isn't even Nolan's best work
it is

>it is
I mean critically, it's not. Maybe to you, it is. But Inception and TDK both received higher acclaim.

Do not reply to tripfags

It's going to win Best Sound Mixing, you can bet your money on that right now and thank me later

it was shit it shouldn't have been nominated for anything

>BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

it was great it should have been nominated for everything

it was ok it should have been nominated for some stuff

What are you implying? That a war film has to be quiet?

>Sound mixing
That's like winning the hair and makeup award. No one gives a fuck about that.

1. Best Picture
2. Best Screenplay
3. Best Cinematography

The rest unironically mean nothing.

No, there's nothing talmudic about it.

>much its too white
>muh jews
>muh conspiracy

The film is not the type of film that wins Best Picture. When will you fags get that through your head?

Who cares what the general public cares about? They don't even understand what half of the categories mean.

I for one only care about the technical categories, they are the only ones that are voted by actual acclaimed industry working people who work in those specific categories, not the snob politically infused Academy.
And when an unexpected film get's nominated for let's say Film Editing I always try to see why would that film have better editing than a normal film and I always learn something.
Same for every technical category, sound mixing, production design, cinematography etc.
The "big" categories are all just a political game

appreciate it mate, didn't realize at the time

>Wait, you guys actually think the lack of ethnic minorities is the reason Dunkirk won't win anything substantial?

Lack of the noble People of colour and too many white Devils is why that 3 Billboards movie isn't going to win anything.

Oldman won a golden globe

great post

Gary Oldman just won a golden globe for best actor last week.

Kubrick was nominated 12 times for oscars and won best special effects for 2001

if it doesn't win for cinematography something's seriously wrong. but i think mother will win, with it's 'bold move to only use three angles'

I was agreeing with you but then I remembered that Three Memes got nominations for editing and cinematography at BAFTAs

PEARLS BEFORE SWINE

THEY DONT DESERVE NOLAN AND HIS PRACTICAL SHOT 15/70MM FILM IMAX

ITS GONNA BE POLITICAL #TIMESUP TRENDY STRONK WOMYN BULLSHIT, NOTHING MOVIES LIKE LADYBIRD

Why do you care about awards?

I fucking wish Oldman is in the blacklist so my twink can win the Oscar.

>whole movie: *boom* *bang* *braaaaaaaaaap*
>climax of the film
>"i have an idea"
>*mute*
GENIUS! GIVE THEM THE SOUND MIXING OSCAR! NOLAN DOES IT AGAIN!

Are you by any chance mentally challenged?

Who cares about this jerkoff movie for britbongs. It's boring as fuck

"Boring" is not a valid argument, it only says what your mood was while watching the film.
Same as saying "it was fun", that does not indicate anything about the actual quality of the film whatsoever.

It was shit, deal with it

The Shape of Water is going to win everything

Just saying "it's shit" is as equally as empty of an argument as saying "it's great"

>Dunkirk isn't even Nolan's best work

>2. Best Screenplay
Why does this one matter, that's not even cinema

I also thought it was boring. Characterization was bland/bad. I didn't give a fuck about anybody. Why did the french guy drown in the boat?

Memento is

SPECIES MIXING, LIKE RACEMIXING ON STEROIDS

GOOD GOYS YOU HAVE REACHED THE NEXT LEVEL

FISHED.COM

It's not video art either

>Characterization was bland/bad
Because it's not a character driven film, it's not about any individual or their sweethearts waiting at home, it's about the event itself and british spirit as a whole.

>Why did the french guy drown in the boat?
To represent the french defending the perimeter.
Based froggo literally spends the entire film just saving multiple brits from drowning only to get drowned himself while saving the same brits who wanted to kill him a minute ago.
He's the representation of all the french people giving their lives defending that line so the brits could escape safely to their home, Nolan represented the entire french side and gave them respect just with his character alone.

>dunkirk is a good movie and deserves awards
the absolute state of this board

A film doesn't have to be good as a whole to deserve awards user. A film can be extremely atrocious but have the best visual effects in cinema history for example. Same with other categories, costumes, production design etc

and yeah Dunkirk is pretty great, best Nolan film since Memento
