I have never seen a single star wars movie in my life. Do I watch them in order of release dates, or in episode order?

I have never seen a single star wars movie in my life. Do I watch them in order of release dates, or in episode order?

Don't.

you're not missing anything. I tried to watch them when they came on TNT last month. I kept dozing off.

Avoid it. It's not even that good. You'll either hate the time you spent on these crap movies, or become obsessed with shit and then see the fucking crap Disney shat out of its mousehole and become a douchebag like us.

Watch Rogue One 4 5 3 6

All others are unnecessary though the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon is good

Watch the despecialized editions of Episode 4, 5 and 6, then stay the fuck away from the rest of the franchine forever.

don't waste your time on that trash.

7, 8, 4, RO, 5, 1, 2, 6, 3

episode order ofc

I wish I could have seen them like that first, the overall story is so good

Just watch Episodes IV - VI.
If you're masochistic, you can even attempt to watch Episodes I - III if you dare.
Don't bother with Disney's nu-Wars shit, including the colossal borefest that was Rogue One.

If you watch the OT there´s no turning back, you´ll start watching them again, then, you will get into the videogames, then, you will start buying the original toys, then, you´ll be stuck in those things for years, you´ll memorize every characters name, you will have knowledge about minimum details like "Han shot first", and you´ll become a fat lonely guy (like George Lucas himself), and again, you´ll be like that for YEARS, don´t do it unless you are the kind of guy who spends half of his lifetime on stuff like that, I´m slowly trying to get out of my house

Do you collect the Kenner figures? I'm looking for a farmboy Luke.

Release date. Skip Disney Wars altogether, except maybe Rogue One if you're bored

That spoils the Vader twist though

>implying everyone in a western country doesn’t already know the Vader is Luke’s father
Why do people keep on pretending it’s a twist? Everyone knows about it at this point

watch the original trilogy. and that's it. the prequels went full retard trying to appeal to kids. the latest trilogy is shitting on all previous star wars lore because 'subversion is cool.'

At this point, why even bother?

Episode 1
Episode 4
Episode 5
Episode 2
The Clone Wars
Episode 3
Episode 6
Rogue One and the other Anthologies when they come out
Episode 7
Episode 8

ofc it does, but watching 4 first spoils nearly everything in ep 1 2 3

release dates. I watched them in episode order first, and it kinda ruins the fun. Vader is supposed to be introduced as a mysterious adversary, knowing his back story first ruins it.

So? OT is the far better trilogy. The prequels are worthless junk.

My gf watched the OT and the PT. Guess which one she thinks is trash.

I watched the OT because my friends told me that it's a masterpiece. It was meh. It's a good movie for kids. Then I watched the PT and it was meh too but only the 3rd one,Revenge of the Sith, was good. The story could've been done better but for sure is suprrioir to the OT one just done poorly.

always release date on your first watch
only plebs will tell you otherwise

>caring about what a woman thinks

And you guys wonder why you're virgins.

if you didn't see the OT as a kid you won't care that much about them.
George Lucas's type of creativity is basically like the intellectual equivalent of breastmilk for 10 year olds

So,why is everyone obssesed about OT? I saw it and it was ok for a kids movie. PT I saw only the third one. It was pretty good but still had flaws.
Didn't bother to see the new ones.

In episode order like intended by the creator.
Or in order of release like invented by neckbeards.

If you want to preserve the twists, try Rogue One, 4, 5, 2, 3, 6.

If you want to look at it as a history, view it in order from I-VI.

Forget about The Clone Wars movie and the sequel trilogy.

order of release dates and avoid ep 7 8 and R1

the best reply yet
far more mainstream appeal =/= far better

1 - 2 - 3 - RO - 4 - 5 - 6

Skip 7 and 8 entirely.
