I just picked up the series yesterday
>The part where Spidey throws a cone on Rhino
>"I got the thing on the thing, what do I win?"
I love the dailogue in this show

I agree. It did so many capeshit tropes perfectly for a cartoon.

Everyone listen to the theme. It's fucking great.

youtube.com/watch?v=TxtvogVepSg

Josh Keaton is the best Spider-Man, so that doesn't hurt either.

>speed of time

What's that? Did I hear somebody say something WRONG?

>"There she is! And with Flash. Ew! Well, at least Flash isn't evil... well, at least he's not possessed by an evil symbiote."
>pause
>"At least not as far as I know..."

And this was before Flash got Venom in the comics.

It had best version of best girl.

Is there a streaming place where I can watch this? Would prefer like a Netflix or Amazon, but I can make the more dubious sources work.

Meh, he was alright.

>tfw SSM appreciation threads are the same 5-10 anons

feels bad man.

>tfw the new movie will be a mega success even though it will probably be mediocre at best

>best cape cartoon sacrificed for a giant pile of shit
>best Spidey comic sacrificed for a tie-in to that same giant pile of shit
I will bitch about this for the rest of my life.

W-wut? I'm totally not that guy who keeps posting Black Cat vids! I am totally that guy who keeps posting black cat vids

The animation on this show is so fucking good, holy shit.

That show was okay, but had recycled animation, weak sauce fight scenes that typically involved Spider-Man showing up and getting immediately knocked out, and a lot of the plots felt really ridiculous.

The sad thing is, literally no one wanted it canceled. The fans liked it, the guys making it liked it, the people who own the rights to spider-man liked it. It just got killed due to copyright bullshit.

Gwen's redesign was bullshit.

'member water clone MJ?

>Capeshit
Fuck off.

Sony owned the license or something, right?

Yeah, and even they wanted to make a deal with Disney.

I'm hoping they will do season 3 on netflix sometime, i hope, i want hobgoblin and closure

youtube.com/watch?v=84QOJxZVlJY

yep

To bad this wont be able to get another season like young justice...

i need to re watch this show. gwen was a qt

>he says not posting a Black Cat vid
i'm on a Greyhound what's your excuse?

I'm only human!
youtube.com/watch?v=Bktz6XLJOb4

Isn't it on Netflix? I've watched the whole thing on Netflix one or two years ago.

...

The reflections in this scene was fucking amazing.

It's too kid-centric to be the best. It's definitely the best Spider-Man series, though the 1982 series is close.

I'd take any of the Timm-verse shows over it.

Amazing how she kisses him to distract him from her stolen treasure.
youtube.com/watch?v=AzrUVA3h1Ew

>tfw he finally got his big score

BEST SPIDER-MAN RIGHT HERE

Spectacular Spider-Man is superb, I think it is the definitive adaptation of Spider-Man

When Disney bought Marvel, Sony was either allowed to keep the movie rights, or the television rights. Naturally, they decided to keep the movie rights, so Disney replaced Spectacular with Ultimate Spider-Man

I generally dislike Spider-Man and favor DC a lot, but I'd agree with you. It's perfect.

How old was Black Cat supposed to be in this? Is this like Ultimate where the age disparity isn't known by Black Cat, or is Felicia supposed to be a teen?

I feel the same way about the Green Lantern series. I never liked the character and tend to favor Marvel but the GLAS was insanely good.

They both had around the same number of episodes now that I think of it.

Absolutely haram. Why doesn't Disney like Marvel? The movies are decent I guess but they are failing on every other front

Just gonna leave this right here.
youtube.com/watch?v=9t4EuOMiKSQ

The show has an episode where they break into the prison Felicia's dad is held and the dude has gray hair. She's most likely in her mid twenties or early thirties.

It looks so terrible but I'm still going to watch it because it HAS to be better than Ultimate.

>What's that? Did I hear somebody say something WRONG?
>that shitty, jarring pacing and horrible animation
I guess if you're nostalgia blind

It hurts so much

Oh Goddammit, Marvel.

Spectacular is the best Mahvel show, followed closely by Earth's Mightiest Heroes followed by the rest (Iron Man Armored Adventures, honestly both X-Men cartoons were decent, probably something I'm forgetting here).

DC has Marvel beat though, and hard. You have BTAS which is more than just the definitive Batman show, it's the definitive Batman anything, period, the point from which all other adaptions draw from, from the 90's films to Nolan to the DCU.

Then you have the rest of the Timmverse (ESPECIALLY Justice League Unlimited), Batman The Brave and the Bold, Teen Titans, Young Justice, Justice League Go, fuck, the list doesn't fucking end.

Still the best fight on the show.

They won't. Sony holds the rights and aren't doing shit with it. Disney and Marvel are also too busy making their own shows.

It's literally the hardest Weisman project to bring back due to this. Every user in this thread is more likely to climb Mt. Everest twice in their lives before seeing season three.

Mahvel fanboy here

Fuck you're absolutely right and it hurts a little. I just want one X-Men cartoon that can rival one of the great DC shows but I'll never get it.

She's 19 to Peter's 16.

They get close, they get close, I just feel that they focus too hard on "muh dystopian oppression" and that bogs down the setting.

Even the lesser DC projects are still miles ahead of Marvel.

One of the biggest reasons is that DC isn't as slavish about comic or movie synergy as Marvel is. Back in the 2000's, they'd have a Batman cartoon for every movie out, a Superman cartoon for Superman Returns, a Green Lantern cartoon for GL, etc., but those shows did their own thing and didn't just recreate the movies.

Most of the current Marvel cartoons are busy trying to ape the movies without knowing what made those movies good. Even though Spectacular recreated a few scenes from the movies, they still had a lot of comic book and animated material to draw for, and paid respect to those as well.

>BTAS
Have to binge that some day.
>JLU
I'll give you that.
>BTBatB
Eh, quality varied from episode to episode but it was alright.
>Teen Titans
Overrated but still good.
>JLG
Need to watch that too.

>doubting the true GOAT

But seriously why does Unlimited get slept on so much. It's everything you could ever want out of a DC cartoon, it even has the cosmic dickery to a slight extent.

I like BTAS, but there was too much of Bruce cucking other people. Especially heinous that him cucking Dick was used to remove the latter from the show.

It has a lot of good episodes and some eh ones. One of the eh episodes has got to be that one episode where Green Arrow and Supergirl go to the future and that Braniac whatever guy falls totally in love with her despite never meeting her before or knowing her.

>Supergirl hooks up with Brainiac 5

why would they do this reeeeee

because they have good taste in ships

...

> you
> i win me that makes no sense

Should've kicked him in the dick while he was down.

SpideyXBlackCat

Gwen was a 10/10 cutie

I liked GLTAS, especially how they were not afraid to censor shit. Hal's feeling of regret being the last emotion of the universe still gives me chills.

>Those thick nostalgia glasses

STAS sucked. Awful pacing, cringey changes like lasers and black holes, kicking only fights with no actual choreography, deteriorating animation, etc. The only things the show did right were voice acting and the ideas of the Symbiote coming from a shuttle and Peter turning aggressive with the Symbiote.

jesus, what the fuck kind of animation is this? this looks like a 9th grader made it in flash.

>The only things the show did right were voice acting and the ideas of the Symbiote coming from a shuttle and Peter turning aggressive with the Symbiote.
Alright, let's compare the character of NormanOsborn from Stas and the one from Spectacular... Oh, that's right, the latter doesn't have any character and is a moustache-twirling bad guy.

>she's not dead. her clone just died and the real mary jane is in the void
ok

They chose the wrong rights to keep.

Every girl in this show is 10/10 cutie.

>honestly both X-Men cartoons were decent,
90's X-men DOES NOT HOLD UP WELL and is in the camp of so bad its good quality much like 60's Spiderman and Avengers. Wolverine and the X-Men is largely just forgettable. X-Men Evolution though is solid despite its rough first season.

Honestly before X-men Evolution Marvel never had good cartoons so their current output is not surprising at all since they're putting everything into their movies now hence why the cartoons, games and comics are worse than they have ever been. While DC's cartoons are not nearly as good as they used to be they're at least trying with the exception of the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn which just looks like cash-in trash and they're slowing getting their act together with the DCEU and of course the comics are kicking ass now with Rebirth. Really Marvel is going to be fucked once the superhero movie bubble bursts at least DC has their cartoons and comics to rely on even if their movies stop making bank and they have to go back to Batman again.

>Oh look its this retard again

The new Marvel shorts are actually pretty good

youtube.com/watch?v=tL8wF7MkqaQ

Now if only they would put this amount of effort into their shows

Norman from Spectacular had more character in the first episode than Norman in the entirety of STAS.

You're not really making any points.
What was his internal conflict then? Whqt were his reasons for becoming evil? Was he portrayed as a sympathetic character or as a bad guy who's bad because he's bad? Stop confusing charisma for character.

Best Black Cat: Spectacular

It's really unfortunate that the MTV, 80s, and Ultimate Spider-man doesn't excel with any character.

They made Norman sympathetic to be sympathetic just like they went out of their way to make most of the villains somewhat sympathetic, angsty,. That doesn't make him well-written just because they literally did Norman Doctor Jekyll to the Goblin's Mister Hyde and it's been done before several times. As far as cartoons go, callous bastard Norman was the first time it's even been done and they knocked it out of the park. He's not sympathetic in any way nor is he supposed to be. Not every character has to be.

>Spider-man TAS
Sup nostalgiafag

>you will never suck on Gwen Stacy's

Maybe the reason it's been done several times is because it's a large part of a character? You don't blame Batman adaptations for including the Joker chemical incident just because it's been done before, do you?

>>best Spidey comic sacrificed for a tie-in to that same giant pile of shit

Which comic are you talking about?

>tfw spectacular will probably be better than homecoming

>will
Fixed that user

>people forgetting Brave and the Bold

Its like you guys hate fun.

MTV had the best Kraven and Electro.

Fuck you TAS flash was fucking based

*gets canceled for ultimate spiderman*

>Be 8 or 9 years old
>looking at special Features on Spider-Man 3
>see SPECTACULAR TRAILER FOR NEW SPIDER-MAN CARTOON COMING SOON
>Wut.
>click play.
>VULTURE
>SANDMAN
>GOBLIN
>ELECTRO
>SYMBIOTE!
It makes me incredibly distraught that I will never get that hype again.
Now that I'm 19 I can say this and the Raimi movies were my childhood.

Remember when Man of Action said their show was better because it didn't copy stories you already knew from the comics?

This is the teaser.
youtu.be/CJvP4cp2LZA

Imagine being a young child, watching this, and running around the house telling everyone about it.
Imagine bringing a friend over and slyly putting in the special Features disc and pretending to be confused when the teaser comes on.
>tfw friend got hyped too.

And I never saw it until 3 years later when I was 11.

That's bullshit, because Spectacular didn't copy the stories we know, it improved on them.

This was batter

>Best Mysterio: TAS

SILENCE, YOU FOOL! Tibi gratias agimus quod nihil fumas!

Fuck, i've never seen anyone this wrong before

Mysterio is the greatest

why can't TAS fans fuck off and have their own thread and leave spectacular threads be

their show went on for fucking forever and had that bizarre sequel, let spectacular have its candlelight vigils for a great show lost because of a fucking copyright issue

WARREN WHERE THE BLAZES ARE YOU

We finally get, a good, even ocasionally awesome Avengers cartoon.

Gets cancelled to be replaced by an abomination made by the same fuckers responsible for Ben10.

Seriously, fuck Avengers Assemble and fuck Joe Kelly.
