This old hag is 70 today.
Say something nice about her.
Black Canary Thread
Lets just get this out of the way.

I've liked her since Dixon's BoP, though lately I've been reading Grell's Green Arrow and she's pretty cool in that too. Dat M60 rampage.
All in all I like her, but modern Dinah sometimes goes too far into moody queen bitch territory, and it has its place, but my favorite bits of BoP were the ones where she was having fun or bantering around with Babs and Helena. The more deathly serious she gets, the more leaden down she feels.
Ree Batwank has no place here
She's underrated.
I didn't like her DCYou solo series, but Annie Wu's art was on point.
Does she have any other good books than Dixon/Simone BOP?
That was my issue with the DCYou run. 3/4 of each comic was good/fine/cool while the rest was just a fucking nuisance.
We will forever be in Otto Schmidt's debt for telling social justice to die in the pits of Hades and sexualizing Canary in the Rebirth run.
Based merciful god he is.
What?
He's just horny and probably a virgin, so just ignore him
Her mom is 70 today.
Time for Black Canary's first appearance.
From Flash Comics #86
She would show up a couple of times in Johnny Thunder's feature
While the rest of the world is covering up women like mother fucking ISIS Otto let Canary stay sexy, that is a positive thing.
If you cease being sexually attracted to women in art or entertainment after you have sex for the 1st time something went wrong dude.
But she ended up being more popular and would get her own feature.
One of her sex scenes in Grell's Green Arrow gave me a boner.
Even overshadowing ol' Johnny. Proving that looking good in fishnets is more powerful than a genie.
fin
You were hot when you were lezzing it up with Oracle.
She's honestly my favourite female character in cape comics. Her design is fucking timeless and works best the less its tweaked going forward. She's an interesting and engaging character who, even in a shit solo about music slime monsters and reduces her entire character to "nebulous dark past", she still carries it because she's so cool. She's one of those few characters, ,for me, who works at her bare bones just due to sheer badassery.
It's fucking shocking how badly Green Arrow works without her, in any medium.. She's so essential to his mythology and his character, and the twos banter is irreplaceable. And then she has a different dynamic with Barbara or Helena, but it still works.
She's one of the few female characters who even the shittest of writers can't make passive and uninvolved, as is the fate of most women in capes, because its so essential to her being that she be assertive and headstrong.
>Hooray, a gorgeously drawn woman in an industry that has lately associated power with modesty!
>Better twist this to fit my stupid anti-SJW agenda because women are the problem!
Other user was right, the virginity is strong.
Current Black Canary is Dinah Drake, I'm pretty sure. At least since DCYou.
>because women are the problem!
Nothing I said even fucking vaguely implies that women are the problem.
Prudes are, Modern feminist art but not women in general.
REAL feminist the ones who seek actual equality are awesome but they have little presence now.
Removing all sex appeal from comics because these psychopaths think characters can't be sexy and strong at the same time isn't fucking equality.
Her mom would be 70 if she wasn't dead.
She's only 50ish.
I agree with most of your post, but you sound butthurt and you seem to think that most SJW's aren't teenage girls, shouting shit from a teenage girl's perspective.
It can be acknowledged that now, and especially 10 years ago, there was a big sexism problem in comics. Women are written and drawn like caricatures and it's dumb. People got angry about it and screeched and REEE'd like people on the internet do, until they got heard.
Just because people act like babies about the problem doesn't mean there isn't a problem.
Rebirth trumps DCYou
Also the Canary Cry is a dead giveaway
>and especially 10 years ago
No the problem was in the 90s not the 2000s.
same way GL and Flash 75 years only show Hal and Barry
Reminder that they actually released music for Black Canary during her rockstar DCYou phase and it's actually pretty good.

Thank you.
>same way GL and Flash 75 years only show Hal and Barry
I have both of those. Fun fact: The covers here show Barry and Hal. But if you remove that glossy paper cover and look at the actual book cover itself it's Jay and Alan.
Funny thing is that The Flash in that picture is Bart, not Barry. That was a cover from the short lived Bart Allen era.
Eh, mostly just okay stuff. Black Canary and Zatanna: Bloodspell is fine but not great. The New Wings mini from the 90s is also fine but nothing to write home about. It'd also make some people on Sup Forums froth at the mouth because they kept the political feel of the Hard Traveling Heroes story.
I'd love to see more solo stuff with her.
These are great, have them in my regular music queue.
So are we getting a black canary celebration book?
If they're still doing the 75yr/50yr/25yr books then in 5 years, yes.

>Dinah trained by some of DCU's best martial artists
>Ollie just expert marksman
What the fuck? How is Ollie able to not only last more than 1 round but also repeatedly disable her? This makes no sense REEEEEEEEEEE
Didn't she lead the Justice League for a while?
>weird masculine sboulder/chest proportions
>hips like a 12 year old boy
So he talks a big game but doesn't follow through? What a weak piece of shit.
She "lost" purposely to lure him. Seconds after this she kicked his ass.
>If you cease being sexually attracted to women in art or entertainment after you have sex for the 1st time something went wrong dude.
Maybe user is a casual and doesn't find 2d drawings sexy like the rest of us.
Not that the power levels in the jl cartoon ever made sense though.
I don't remember that at all, guess I'm due for a rewatch.
Who hasn't?
I think she's the de facto leader of the current JLA book when Batman isn't around. Unless its Vixen
