Are Wonder Woman and her comics some of the most inconsistently written material in the industry?

Men are the only good writers

Men arent as good at female perspectives

Inconsistency is the best youll get

Gail Simone did a good job on Secret Six.

She has to be this symbol of female empowerment so she can never really be her own character.

Yeah, they can't protray her with long-term negative personality traits or feminazis'll cry sexism.

and a lousy job when she wrote WW, your point?

torn apart by your alpha brain, good job sir.

She is not much more inconsistent that Batman or Superman.

Will Rucka's Rebirth run be looked back on as the characters best run?

Hahahaha, no.

No. What's inconsistent about her aside from a few writers making her a bloodthirsty bitch recently?

Her origin, her people, her character motive, and her morals.

Donna Troy is worse off than Diana

Literally who?

They are consistently written like shit.

The first 2 can be blamed on Azzarello and her motive and morals haven't changed since her inception. She's all about trying to make humanity a better place and she believes in love more than anything.

Not really. Those two have definitive traits that are present in most of their appearances.

Exactly

Don't you mean Azzarello and Morrison?

Top Kek

Superman has been rebooted more than Wondy. Wondy has still not received anything as huge as Byrne's MoS.

What did Morrison do? He took her back to her Marston roots. He didn't change anything.

Daughter of Hercules in Earth one.

Her origin has been mostly the same. She was either made of clay and brought to life by the gods or was the child of Zeus and Hippolyta(I think her father was different once or twice)

The Amazons are the weirdest part of her backstory because writers keep changing their society. They range from a female utopia to an evil matriarchy depending on the writers.

Her character has been mostly consistent. She is a force for good but she starts out as not understanding how society works because of where she was raised. Of course she gains a better understanding of society as time goes on.

Her people are as inconsistency written as Kryptonians are.

Yeah, 'cept those fuckers got blown the fuck up while Amazons appear all the time in Wondy's stories.

You're just proving his point.

And what was that?

That Kryptonians aren't written consistently.

Because people don't know how to write someone that is both a warrior and a compassionate believer in rehabilitation over punishment. So you either end up with a Wonder Woman who is a neck snapping Xena or crap like the recent Rucka issue where she defeats Phobos and Deimos like the "it's not your fault" scene from Good Will Hunting

Hawkman.

so she's female goku?

Except Goku has a fighting boner

Which is pretty much the only thing that makes him interesting.

If Goku loved and cared for all things like a mother.

Never understood that about her character.

When will she inevitably get raped as all female heroes do at some point?

It's a protector/nurturer thing. Diana wants to show everyone there is a better way of living, that compassion is an option and only when that option is exhausted is violence required.

Pretty much almost every run since the 80s has followed up upon what Perez built on his run.

I feel like Wondy is the one female hero who's completely safe from being raped. Any writer who actually did it would not only get death threats, but would actually be put in danger of life and limb by crazed people.

That could work if it wasn't as preachy as it usually is.

Morrison was an else-world, is like complaining Superman is sometimes a Soviet and sometimes not because of Red Son.

A shame. I could see a good author exploring how she'd handle the trauma while also having drawn her lewd body tastefully.

That's what I was saying in the first post, there are ways to do it properly compared to this crap

...

...

pretty much. there's Marston's actual sensible set of values for the character with minimal variance in writing quality then DECADES of drifting thru a sea of garbage with a few gasps for air but no real sign of solid ground ever again.

Could've just had her talk with them about why they are the way they are and that they didn't have to do that horrific crap.

Talked about how their father is a dick but that doesn't mean they have to be dicks. Offered them a chance at redemption by returning the girl willingly, given them a chance to be better gods.
This was the conclusion to a seven issue arc.

It was horrible I didn't think it'd be horrible and anti-climactic.

Personally, I think Azzarello's handling of Wondy's compassionate side with Hades and The First Born was much better than this. And that wasn't even that great.

Poor Hades was left at the altar and was too hearbroken to stop her from leaving ,which I though was great. With the First Born she just threw him into the abyss after he realized Diana actually cared for him.

But at least she prefaced it by explaining that love must be given and not taken. It was a lesson in tough love for the First Born

7,000 more years of it.

sorry that title goes to green lantern

Which will probably make him even more of a vengeful monster.

It's fine, he probably doesn't exist anymore

Dude just wanted to kill everything and bone Diana.

I think he means that he probably doesn't exist anymore because Rebirth retconed the new 52 as being some weird fever dream Diana had.

That is what I meant.
