That type of fighting lends itself to Spidey very well (maybe even more than Batman). Flowing between baddies, sensing whoever is coming in for an attack and moving to that attacker fluidly and effortlessly. That screams Spider-Man combat.

God I wanted to be excited for this game, but I can tell by the gameplay that's it's basically Amazing Spider-Man The Game 3.

No, he's not Spider-Man, YET. I'm not sure what anyone else is thinking, but I personally don't like that the first real time they show Spider-Man in this universe they instantly have to shove fucking Miles into it too. It just doesn't seem like it bodes well for Peter's future, and who really wants to see Miles over Peter Parker? Especially so soon.

I get lifting the combat and design from Arkham, I wish they wouldn't but I get it. It was a game-changer for cape games so everyone's gonna lift from it just like Nolan's movies.

But did they really have to put in the most Arkham-style Spidey villain possible and give him an entire cast of henchmen with Arkham-style henchmen masks? That almost seems like they went out of their way.

What would you rather have the combat be like, though? Arkham combat has a flow to it, something Spidey really needs. Look at SM2 and WoS combat, at least on the ground - it's clunky af. Spidey needs something to showcase his agility and power, and the ASM games pretty much failed on that.

Honestly, I don't know what other combat system there could be for the character, but there's a good chance that if they started from scratch it could have been... bad. They have a mould now, but can still deviate from it. We have until 2018 after all.

God please let there be an extensive costume library. I want the quick change suit from the PS1 game. I know we won't get it, but damn do I want it.

I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt that they cherry picked a particularly cinematic part of the game to show off for the trailer. Obviously if it turns out to be some interactive novel like the shitty Telltale games then I will change my tune.

QTE's are an embarrassing and outdated mechanic but just think of them as cutscenes. As long as the game isn't full of them it's okay.
