The first four seasons are worth watching, you'll probably give up before you get to the end if you keep watching after that, so knowing the end is just a good shortcut to quitting.

Showtime. That's what the fuck went wrong. The show was DOOMED from the start. Showtime can't produce a single good show, even if it meant saving their lives. Twin Peaks is an exception and lynch almost told them to fuck off. You can IMAGINE why. They probably wanted "their" version of Twin Peaks.

It fucked up its own premise. If they had given it the format of Dexter hunting a "serial killer-of-the-week" each episode it would have actually stood a chance.

Writer's strike. Rather than holding out for a resolution they brought in a bunch of fucking amateurs who shat out the season three script, then kept some of them around after. Showrunner and former head writer left after season 4 because no-one wants to deal with Showtime's bullshit.

I like Shameless. Also Nurse Jackie but I've only seen the first few seasons.

You know what burns me the most? Is that they took Lumen, a character that had potential, and wrote her into the fucking trash bin, then she got on a bus and we never saw her again, while they gave Hanna TWO FUCKING SEASONS of vapid horse shit, and she was there until the fucking end.
