He an honest director for people with taste
I agree, he is
He's pretty good.
I wish he'd remake Only God Forgives
/our guy/?
Not trigger Korine fag
I can't see him tackling a ww2 era film, most probably because he's a leaf.
I have no idea what these movies are
Waiting for some epic napoleón kino by him.

Objectively wrong.
True. Prisoners is the peak of IMDb-core entry level cinema. It’s so nauseating and deceitful that you almost can’t grasp the air-headedness one would possess to even have the audacity to release it. Denis is visibly hijacking the cinematic language of David Fincher’s Zodiac to the point of borderline imitation but his plagiarism is for some reason exempt from criticism due to the presence of Roger Deakins and Jake GyleenHallway’s effeminate hairstyle. Did I mention that Jake Gyllenhaal happened to star in Zodiac as well?
The only positive to be birthed from Villiueneve’s Prisoners is its undoubted position as the catalyst for Hugh Jackman’s Logan, the former ultimately serving as an eye-opening revelation of Jackman’s engrossing capablility for portraying a person willing to go the extra length for his child, despite the animalistic depths it drags him too.
This is the only positive that can be derived from Prisoners, and even then it’s shallow surface-level drivel. Denis is the biggest hack working today, a man adept at stealing the virtues of other talented individuals. He is essentially another Quentin Tarantino, the difference being that Denis can’t infuse his own vision with the others he borrows from—his plagiarism all too incredibly blatant. He is ultimately a successful Shia Labeouf, and we can only hope that #HEISNOTFAMOUSANYMORE.
I certainly won’t be adding to the unwarranted pedestal Denis has happened to sneak himself on. We can only hope that others wake up to the utter dishonesty.
Incendies —> Greek tragedy
he's dishonest, his movies systematically end too early, goose before he died, prisoners before I'm not gonna spoil, enemy before I'm not gonna spoil
I would like for him to tackle a psychological horror/thriller character study, not a "horror" horror but something like Enemy just with everything that's unnerving and creepy to be the focus of it. He knows how to perfectly control build and release tension so something along those lines would suit him good.
What does dishonest mean in this context.
>all muh mobies should be wrapped up in a nice little package with every single plot point being closed off on-screen at the end
Spoken like a true mental midget
>I'm not gonna spoil his old movies, but l'm fine with spoiling the one thst just came out two months ago
I liked Arrival :/
Why? It's already perfect in its own right
Maelstrom, Prisoners, and Arrival were good too, but the 5 in the OP are his best.
>all my movies should be open ended because look at me I'm really smart
it's a gimmick director
I guess I should watch Polytechnique and 2049 so I can be caught up
everyone's seen BR
Please don't bully nolan fans that think they have taste now
I haven't. I'm watching it tonight. Ass.
Literally not one of those films is open ended you dumb ape, what is open ended in Prisoners? What is open ended in BR2049? What is open ended in Enemy?
They are all entirely complete stories with complete character arcs, there's nothing more to be said or that needed to be said in any of them.
don't get in these threads then fag
did K die? was Logan found and rescued?
the answer is 'mostly likely but maybe not', just for the sake of not answering.
>did K die?
Absolutely yes, not just because of the wound shot but because of the obvious soundtrack callback and the fact that the writer himself confirmed that he doesn’t see how anyone else could interpret it differently. All that you need to see has been shown, anything more is just screentime wasting.
>was Logan found and rescued?
Yes absolutely, the film ends by Gyllenhaal reacting to the last whistle once he finally hears it and that's enough, there's no need to show a sappy "haha you're alive my man" constructed second happy ending when the actual story is already over. Also nice how you outed your capeshit sensibilities by calling Hugh Jackman "Logan"
Go watch rom coms and comedy action flicks if you want those freeze frame character life explanation endings in order for you to feel like it's a "complete" movie.
Why does RicaPatin think he has taste?
Why does he like pleb garbage like 2049?
Why does he sage post all the time when threatened by his superiors?
