Apollo 13

Find a flaw.
Im not one for a US wankfest but its a good movie

It's completely fake. The Apollo missions were totally fake. 13 was a ritual sacrifice

Tom Hanks is annoying as shit.

morons need not reply.

great film. I believe they shot the weightless scenes in a plane flying in parabolic arcs. They looked much more realistic than earlier films about space.

the only issue i can think of is that they hollywoodified the dialogue and made everything much more intense that it was

because i have criplling autism ive listened to the entire multi hour apollo 13 tapes and they were calm and collected throughout the whole thing. thats still a nitpick though and a13 is 10/10 for me and one of my favorites

Not a very good one, nobody died.

There is a point, regardless. The flaw could be that same blind faith, a faith similar to the patriotism you describe, which immerses viewers into enjoying the “good movie.”

IM the OP and certainly not American. I like the film mainly for the characters and the sets.
my only gripe is I wish they had shown more detail how they successfully changed the filter

It's one of the best movies of the 90's. Supremely underated.

I like Apollo 13 but I don't know why they felt the need to dramatise it so much, it was already a dramatic situation but they added in tension and arguments with the technicians and crew which never happened.

SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE, WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED

Can anyone tell the difference between a Ron Howard or Robert Zemekis film? I can’t.

maybe Howard films are longer

yet another competently made yet totally boring film from the clinton era

>With all due respect sir, I believe this will be our finest hour
This movie is pure white male kino

The Right Stuff is better spacekino

Somehow growing up I got the impression that everyone died at the end of the movie. I knew it as a fact. I finally watched it out of boredom like 2 years ago and had my mind fucking blow. Like watching Titanic for the first time and Jack lives

>the only issue i can think of is that they hollywoodified the dialogue and made everything much more intense that it was

Much of the dialogue is directly from the NASA transcripts of voice recordings during the mission.

i have an uncle who literally looks exactly like ed harris in this

does he have a nice waistcoat?

it would only be fitting

on the facts it is very accurate but stylistically theres much more screaming and yelling and they added in some conflict as well

It's a pretty decent summarization of the time, but I kind of roll my eyes at the daughter character.
>I'M NOT COMING OUT OF MY ROOM MOM, WE'LL NEVER GET ANOTHER BEATLES RECORD!
