I don't think that can really happen. The show's lore is too deep for constant reboots/perpetual seasons. It's not like they're using it to sell merch or games or anything either (give me my Princess Marco doll damnit), so going on forever doesn't seem likely.

She'll definitely "appear" again, but her relevance is hugely diminished. Her purpose is to be a barrier between Marco and Star, and the show has already established that Marco and Jackie are happy together with the only issue being Star's feelings. Jackie has nothing left to contribute other than to prolong Star's suffering in season 3 and to make it so there's an actual reason why Star and Marco aren't fucking. Jackie will have some scenes in season 3 but she definitely won't be in season 4 or will have an even smaller role than whatever role she's getting in 3.

I've been waiting for them to expand her a bit, particular her past relationship with Marco. It seems weird that they'd have Marco act like he's not only aware of Janna's possible feelings but also have him say stuff like that he wished she was dead. Don't people want to know what happened to cause Janna to obsess, or at least act obsessed, over Marco and why Marco doesn't seem to like her at all?

I am interested in this and S2 seems to go in a direction of further obsession (the unlocking the wallet thing), but it doesn't really go anywhere after that. S3 seems to imply Janna will have more of a major role, so I hope we'll see more of and about the obsession.

This is the earliest we've seen Janna. Seems like she, Marco, and likely everyone else at the high school have known each other all their lives.

My theory is that Janna used to be friends with Marco and did something to fuck it up. Now she's obsessed with him and desperate to be friends again and or date him all the while Marco is still upset. Maybe she started hanging out with Star more just to be closer to Marco more often?

Her having a minimal role was so transparently obvious though. Even in the second season they only used her when absolutely necessary:

Sleepover: Marco's crush revealed
Naysaya: Marco tries to make an effort to be normal around her
Bon Bon: actual date
cameos in a few episodes just to remind you she exists, while getting like 2 lines
Just Friends: has to be there for cucked Star
Starcrushed: pretty much has to be there to emphasize relationships etc. + everyone else is there

Even there I'm not sure what exactly people are latching on to so hard, what makes her really special to them. And I actually like Jackie.

It's just not the same as if Ludo or Glossaryck or something never showed up again (putting aside the fact that she obviously will show up again). Like I really can't see what's especially compelling about her besides her relationship with Marco, which they've shown to the exact bare minimum needed.

And that's not even to say she has no personality; I've been saying she has one since Season 1 when the exact same traits shown now were present then. That episode was about Star feeling left out and to show Star didn't personally hate Jackie for dating Marco.

I feel like "Just Friends" is actually one of the worst episodes because the first half is just devoid almost entirely of humor of a purpose. But, rewatching it that episode has Star touching Marco a lot and putting herself between Jackie and Marco. It was kinda subtle, but I think the theme was that it's Star that feel left out with Marco being in a new relationship.
