I don't understand how you can put Metalhead in any tier other than shit. It doesn't do anything special. The only twist is that they were trying to get a teddy bear.
Matthew Russell
...... You have some very weird opinions
Jordan Diaz
>white bear I had to mute the episode that mulatto bitch screeching nearly did my ears in
Kayden Gonzalez
>Any list with Metal Head avove anything else Into the trash
Ayden Rogers
Can someone explain why people dont like Playtest? I know the American dude is a bit annoying but I thought it was a good episode all up.
Elijah Phillips
Out of all black mirror tier lists ive ever seen, this one is the worst by far and thats saying something.
Easton Clark
Nothing wrong with a pitch perfect thriller with gorgeous cinematography and a unique monster.
Wyatt's performance was the only good thing about the episode, it was just a weak thriller. White Bear had a better twist and Metalhead was more well directed.
Josiah Price
"I don't know what's real or not" is the lamest premise ever made.
Gabriel Morgan
Literal hunting/killing machine isn't exactly unique. Even if it is in a quadrupedal body.
Julian Roberts

Nathaniel Reed
Series 1 = White Christmas>>>S2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>S3>>>>S4. Entire History of You is the best episode, but White Christmas is also an acceptable answer. San Junipero is massively overrated and mediocre, I can only assume people rate it so high because of qt interracial lesbians. I do love Nosedive.
Blake Gomez
I thought season 3 was pretty strong. I can understand the order of your rankings, but not why you placed season 3 so far below 2
Ryan Young
Just finished watching this series.
Not a huge fan so.
Top Tier USS Callister White Christmas The Entire History of You
Very good Nosedive Crocodile Shut up and dance
Okay
15 million Merits San Junipero Hatred in the Nation *Due to Kelly Macdonald who I liked for years*
Meh Everything else.
Xavier Rogers
>metalhead in fantastic tier yeah no
Jonathan Richardson
Okay honestly I wasn't expecting this much pushback for the metalhead ranking, thought people would focus more on Waldo not being the lowest. Why is it so disliked?
Hunter Watson
>10/10 Shut Up And Dance >9/10 White Christmas Hated In The Nation Playtest >1/10 Everything Else >0/10 Hang The DJ The Waldo Moment
Xavier Kelly
Ask this question, what was GOOD about metalhead?
I mean, I am fully admit that the cast sold me on USS Callister, and Kelly Macdonald sold me Hatred in the Nation. But what did you like about Metalhead?
Levi Wood
God tier: >Inside No. 9
Shit tier: >Edgy Inside No. 9 fanfictions
Christian Baker
DUDE mundane bullshit for 28 minutes and than a predictable twist in the last 2 minutes LMAO
Bentley Barnes
I liked how different it was from the rest of the episode, it just crushes you with atmosphere instead of being all intellectual with twists and turns. It takes a lot of work to make "Woman Runs Away from CGI for 40 Minutes" scary. The whole story is carried on Maxine Peake, and I think she gave the 2nd best performance in the entire series. Everyone hated the teddy bear twist but I thought it was very effective.
Blake Gomez
Fair enough, I don't think it is the worse episode (Waldo gets that) but I didn't think it was that great. Then again, I only liked about 50% of the episodes at all.
Xavier Williams
I'm trying to figure out a better way to explain it, but for me metalhead just isn't interesting.
Here's some rambling where I try to put it into better words but I think I fail. There's nothing novel about it. It feels more like a student's short film than a Black Mirror episode. It's almost entirely just a woman being chased by a robot, there's nothing to sink my teeth into. It's like they expanded the opening scene of a movie where someone dies and then the title card is shown.
Wyatt Sullivan
That's valid, I thought the action/thriller elements where the main event and anything more would have distracted from it. I read in an interview that the first draft of the script showed the dogs being controlled by a rich person in his leisure time, and I'm glad they took that out.
Ryan Scott
test
Elijah Lee
That twist does sound retarded.
I should probably clarify something. I dislike Metalhead within the context of it being a Black Mirror episode, but I think my opinion of it would be different if it were presented to me in a different context.
Nicholas Sullivan
>nosedive Stopped reading there Literal Facebook using brainlet detected
Matthew Price
>he hasn't caught on that Nosedive is a critique of capitalism and neurotypical supremacy
Oliver Hall
Elder: 15 Million Merits
High: San Junipero White Christmas Hang the DJ Shut Up and Dance Hated in the Nation The National Anthem
Good: Crocodile The Entire History of You White Bear Be Right Back Black Museum
OK: Nosedive USS Callister Arkangel Playtest Men Against Fire
Meh: The Waldo Momement Metalhead
Nicholas Cruz
How does that make it a good episode? It's still marred by a predictable plot, tired tropes, unconvincing acting, and unimaginative cinematography.
Christian Edwards
Good shit: Be Right Back Black Museum Hang the DJ San Junipero Shut Up and Dance The Entire History of You White Christmas
Decent time killers: 15 Million Merits Arkangel Hated in the Nation Men Against Fire Nosedive Playtest The Waldo Moment USS Callister
Offensively bad: Crocodile Metalhead The National Anthem White Bear
Samuel Brown
>predictable plot The twist is that it's the first black mirror episode with a happy ending. If you were waiting for the whole thing to be revealed to be a simulation or something then I guess you're shit outta luck.
>tired tropes all art has tropes, you can't just call works from the aether fully formed, everything built on what came before.
Surprised USS Callister is so low on a lot of rating lists.
Justin Ramirez
>The Waldo Moment two places above White Christmas Unironically kill yourself.
Colton Cook
>horror genius >only gives a shit about cheap jump scares Fuck that episode
Zachary Taylor
I liked what it had to say about toxic fan culture, but there were just too many plotholes. the amount of power Daly has in the game world is just too inconsistent for me to be invested. It's like they forced the happy ending in there without thinking enough about how it would happen.
Jonathan Bailey
I didn't mind, but I thought the ending would have been a lot better if he loses his toys, but exits the game, goes to work, meets the new girl, and gets some DNA to start his game all over again.
Austin Young
It's one of the few Black Mirror episodes that has a technologically impossible premise. Not surprising it's rated poorly.
Asher Flores
The AI clones are out in the game now, they can let people know what daly did. No matter weather he died or not, it's a happy ending.
>this fiction is too fictional
Lucas Hall
I have kind of the same opinion as Building a copy of a person's mind using their saliva doesn't make any sense. And the in-universe rules were kind of a tangled mess and detracted from my enjoyment.
Isaac Ward
Anyone else not into Black Museum?
Asher Collins
Not if they get shot and die.
And it's supposed to be science fiction, where it seems plausible that what takes place could happen. It's not supposed to have some machine that works completely against human understanding.
John Walker
It's tonally completely different from the rest of the show, it's almost like a parody of black mirror and the people who consume it. I thought the horror/comedy balance was a lot more well maintained than it was on USS Callister, in that episode it was EXISTENTIAL HORROR juxtaposed with one liners for people to screencap and post on twitter.
Gavin Ramirez
Rolo Haynes was a great fucking character.
Hudson Watson
it wasnt that. the whole episode actually only takes place for a split second. he was dead when his phone rang
Oliver Jenkins
Fair enough, it didn't bother me (hell, I still enjoy Dune even if it has the same horrid science) but I can understand why it a issue to some.
I just thought it was one of the more entertaining episodes.
Juan Richardson
It's not that it's too fictional. It's just lazy writing. The character import mechanism could have been analysis of photos and video for physical appearance and online activity for psychological profile. That would have been plausible.
The only reason they went with the DNA bullshit is because it's a low effort way of including the DNA heist part of the plot.
Nathaniel Adams
I was on board until the very end where it's revealed that her mom is just also in her brain and she's taking the bear along too.
Joshua Wilson
What is so good about White Bear? That and the Waldo Moment were no doubt the worst episodes pre nu-season.
Daniel Williams
The point of black mirror is to present how technology can show us a dark reflection of ourselves. If the technology is impossible and the characters cartoonish, than the only point is to provide mouthbreathers such as yourself a distraction from your terrible lives
William Allen
Shut up and dance is the ultimate pleb filter
Jace Flores
The problem with that method is that it would just be an approximation of them in the game, instead of a copy.
I think the best thing would have been him sneaking a way to get brain scans of the people instead. Although that may be too daring for the character. Maybe there's no good option for this.
Adrian Mitchell
have it that they have to log into the game at some point, and he just copies it into his private system. and then she had to steal a handful of memory sticks.
Eli Morris
So do people dislike The Waldo Moment so much just because the story was straightforward?
Lucas Moore
if you cut out the pedo shit that episode would work as a great movie
Hunter Baker
Season 4 was a let down.
>USS Haha we are self aware AI! How? Who knows! But let me just HACK the game because I'm a CODER!
>ArkAngel Oh no! I'm a controlling mother who installed a camera into my daughter's eyes! Oh no she's being a teenager!
>Crocodile This machine can read minds! Oh no I killed someone and now someone knows! Best kill everyone because that makes sense
>Hang the DJ Look at this advanced tinder! It's all inside an app dude!
>Machinehead Oh no killer robot dogs are everywhere let's risk our lives for some teddy bears because we are stupid as fuck.
>Black Museum Okay I actually liked this one but only because of the two short stories before it. The man MUH DAD story was dogshit
Carter Reyes
I agree with everything but Hang the DJ. It made me feel good.
Matthew Bennett
Best: Be Right Back The Entire History of You San Junipero
the rest range from alright to shit
Cameron Thomas
the pedo shit is what makes the episode what it is
Brody Mitchell
Decent buildup to a completely unsatisfying ending
Austin Green
If you cut out the pedo shit then the main character wouldn't have played along.
Gabriel Johnson
I second this.
>10/10 also The National Anthem
Gavin Jenkins
>SJ >Best You fucking pleb
Justin White
Pedo shit is the whole point, Kenny is willing to commit far worse crimes than jerking off because if people find out your a pedo you may as well kill yourself
Sebastian Perry
>No shut up and dance Fuck off retard
Michael Torres
>Callister Self conscious AI that know they are in fact AI somehow have all the memories of their host despite being code based on DNA. sure, but they vegetate a guy because he's an asshole playing a game however he wants. They murder him but it's okay because in a game that they know he's playing outside of real life, he's a dick. So video games can't be cathartic and we should act on our base instincts against people?
ArkAngel meh episode, extreme controlling mother.
>croc I'm going to anonymously tell this woman I killed her husband and I won't mention you, so even if they do track me down it's on me. Better murder EVERYTHING.
>DJ Sure this app knows your exact personality and somehow is more efficient simulating years of content a thousand times, but it's just an app.
>Machine robo kill dogs for tendy bear. Of course the bad robot just happens to be behind the one box they were after. Also if the robot couldn't climb the tree, how did it get up on the cargo shelves at the start?
>Museum Sure dude was profiting off suffering, but it's still just code, realistically he should be able to reset it from it's initial point, and even then it's not really her father it's just a simulation. She murders him not because he made her father suffer, but because a computer program did. Also her whole plan relied on him drinking her water bottle when it's his own facility where I'm sure he has his own food/water/offices/bathrooms. Also she said her mom offed herself but then she's inside her kid? What did she off herself as part of this whole plan? Also what was the point of the british accent? It's not like black people only live in britain (Or europe huehuehue). Plenty in the US. If he doesn't immediately recognize her from being dragged along to whatever her mom protested or from dad's death, why would an accent even matter?
Nolan Ortiz
The dog was behind the teddy bear box because the AI was advanced enough to know the humans would be irrational and try to steal them
John Foster
what i'd recommend tier: entire history of you white christmas playtest hang the dj nosedive shut up and dance white bear crocodile
in order of watchability.
Liam Ross
>only jump scares >dude forgets his entire self after finding his mom in the same state delete your account
Jose Bennett
was good for a bit but last 20 or so minutes were a waste of time.
Daniel Wood
>but they vegetate a guy because he's an asshole playing a game however he wants. They murder him but it's okay because in a game that they know he's playing outside of real life, he's a dick. So video games can't be cathartic and we should act on our base instincts against people?
Are you saying that if you are aware that your intelligence is artificial you are then obligated to willingly go through torture without rebelling?
>Sure dude was profiting off suffering, but it's still just code, realistically he should be able to reset it from it's initial point, and even then it's not really her father it's just a simulation. She murders him not because he made her father suffer, but because a computer program did.
This is the same universe as San Junipero. Earlier it's revealed that laws exist in universe to protect the rights of downloaded brains. What makes you think a person in that universe would go, "it's just code" about a copy of their father being tortured?
Gavin James
Top >White Christmas >Shut Up And Dance >San Junipero I really liked the change from the darker themes in San Junipero, it was just incredibly comfy, they really pulled that off well.
Flop: >USS Callister Start was very promising but ended up like a puzzle with some pieces missing and some put in the wrong way.
Luke Collins
>Black mirror is set in the same universe I can't believe that for a second. There are too many inconsistencies
Chase Green
I said that San Junipero is in the same universe, since the black girl directly references old people uploading their brains.
Robert Hall
>black museum >solid 2/3 of episode >literally DINDU NUFFIN in the end Season 4 was such a disappointment
Aaron Ortiz
Black Mirror has been a leftist show since 15 million merits (babby's first anticapitalist dystopia), get with the program.
James Flores
Two thirds of it were ideas taken from Karl Pilkington’s ramblings in the Ricky Gervais show and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Matthew Long
Felt like they were trying too hard to copy White Christmas with the whole "stories within an overarching story" idea. Maybe with a bit more fleshing out the Dr and the coma/monkey stories could have been good standalones, but the whole revenge thing at the end was dumb.
Justin Carter
First off the whole same universe theory is "interesting" but there are too many inconsistencies. Maybe if a few select ones are then maybe.
Certainly anything going through suffering will want to rebel. They had pretty fucked up lives for the 4-5 hours they had to deal with him when he wasn't at work or sleeping or eating or whatever. But they kill their creator. They kill someone. I can sympathize with the AI but they knowingly kill a living being. Why should we value what are essentially his toys over the person himself? Would you choose terminators over the humans? What about the machines from the matrix over the humans?
I would've been happier if the twist was that the museum curator was actually the one who killed the weatherman and tampered with the DNA for his main exhibit or something of that nature. Instead it was a contrived bullshit.
