And you wasted all that time to learn something i couldve told you in 5 seconds. Sad.
You watched something called "Devilman Crybaby" and you were expecting kino?
youtube.com
Watch this in original french, pure cartoon goodness about exploring the new world and being manly af.
>Expects the MC to end up with Miki
>Akira and Ryo were gay all along
(((Netflix original)))
How did you think that was gonna turn out for you?
Nothing in this anime adaptation points out they were gay for each other, though. I'd say, at least on Akira's part, quite the opposite.
For Ryo, it's open for interpretation, but I think it's a really fucking poor taking on his love for Akira as sexual, which the anime seemed to take care to not display as such.
Might as well say Naruto and Sasuke were gay, and not in the meme sense or the "my ship is canon because I said so" tumblr sense.
I didn't realize Devilman Crybaby now represents all anime ever made.
Didn't you get the memo?
you're just being a crybaby
Someone just post the muder-sex scene already.
This was made entirely in Japan based on a Japanese property. Netflix just streams it.
If you want an anime to introduce you to Yuasa and is one of the best ever anime in my opinion then watch Ping Pong.
It's a great character story with sport just being the backdrop for some cool animation and art style
i dont think so. i read somewhere it was specifically produced for (((netflix))).
what really surprised me was that netflix agenda and degenerate leftist propaganda really tainted even anime production nowadays.
The show was good till the fifth episode
After that it grows and grows into complete mess and pile of shit
I mean that Netflix didn't create it. They just stream it. And Devilman was originally written in the 70s.
NEW* anime is MOSTLY* gay
its all just fujoshit bait
>And Devilman was originally written in the 70s.
the original devilman is nothing like this. its a 'traditional' anime. this one is just pure millennial contemporary shitshow
This was made for Netflix and the homoeroticism was already there in the original manga. This has nothing to do with your fujoshi bogeyman.
The original anime adaptation deviates significantly from the manga.
Its exactly like the manga.
>watching Devilman to get into Yuasa and not Go Nagai
Yuasa didn't write Devilman and Crybaby is an adaptation of a 40 year old manga.
not EXACTLY but it is like the manga
>hurr durr lefty propaganda
No, Nagai is just an edgelord. He's the original edgelord that inspired Tomino, who then inspired Urobutcher.
yeah even with the interracial families, vegetarianism, and "muh wife's kids" ?
no, its 7 fans were all akira ryo pairing fujoshits so obviously they pandered to them with the minimalistic ugly color, lazy background reboot
Yes. Go Nagai doesn't give two shits about your identity politics. Again, Devilman was written in the 70s and Nagai is far from a soyboy.
I wish I still had the picture of him and Ishikawa holding a pair of tits together.
>interracial families
>muh wife's kids
Been done many times before.
Devilman is a popular franchise in Japan and Crybaby is just what Yuasa's style is. Do you have evidence of pandering?
Just finished episode 9 and man was it edgy. God I hate useless MCs, hopefully it ends with him kicking ass
>7 fans
>Devilman
It's been getting adaptations for decades. Just because you're a pleb that never heard of it before Netflix presented it to you, does not make it obscure.
I liked it
> Nothing in this anime adaptation points out they were gay for each other
For Ryo at least it was pretty fucking obvious even without Xenon calling out Satan on the fact that he loved Akira like in the manga.
> but I think it's a really fucking poor taking on his love for Akira as sexual
It is in devilman lady, but yeah, in this adaption it looks very 'pure'
completely unnecessary on your face fanservice in every single episode
THIS haha
if you're not aware of the 7 fans meme you're the pleb
mad fujoshit go pound your cunt while you RP incest you fucking degenerate
>the original devilman is nothing like this.
All the beats are the same tho'. Gay white-lookin' Jap with a gun convinces a beta male Jap to get possessed by a demon, fight other demons, world falls apart as the demons are revealed to the world, God's real and he just stopped a bunch of demons from nuking the world, oops gay white-lookin' Jap is actually Satan, beta Jap dies ,God restarts the world to torture Satan.
I'm not female or a fan of BL. You are being hysterical.
The original manga is like 60-ish chapters and has a breakneck pace. There isn't much in there to expand upon unless you dive into side stories and sequels.
If anything, while Yuasa did a decent job, his usual style really clashes with the more traditional designs in the show. Though I like the fact he still has a boner left over from Ping Pong for hiring native speakers.
It's Go Nagai. It wouldn't be anywhere close to him without random fanservice and violence.
>who then inspired Urobutcher.
Urobutcher wasn't inspired by Tomino, he was inspired by Shotaro Ishinomori, Naruhisa Arakawa, and Yasuko Kobayashi (The latter to such a point many of his entries take repeated homage to one of her works).
He specifically named Tomino in an interview. Either Zeta or Victory in particular.
haha yea right go fuck yourself cunt im done with you
I'm still not female or a fan of BL. You are still being hysterical.
what the fuck is wrong with you user
>Urobutcher.
>inspired by sentai creatives?
wait what seriously
He's also named Ishinomori's, Arakawa, and Kobayashi. And as I said, he specifically makes repeated homages to Kobayashi's Kamen Rider Ryuki, especially in Madoka. And when he got the opportunity to do his own Kamen Rider show, it was just a retread of Ryuki.
He's specifically mentioned that the Kamen Rider Black manga, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Kamen Rider Ryuki are big inspirations for his works - Ryuki in general made massive steps in creating the battle royale format in a lot of Japanese works since its inception.
To clarify, IIRC he said Tomino taught him the ways of the edgelord through either Victory or Ideon.
Well, he did write his own Kamen Rider show. Is that really a surprise that he likes sentai as well?
yall think you smart LMAO im fucking 900 steps ahead a you
epej
I'm still not female or a fan of BL. You are still being hysterical.
Is not really sexual in this series is more like "You're the love of my life, no matter the time and place" Now in the manga Ryo is full gay
>Urobutcher wasn't inspired by Tomino
I never said that Tomino was Urobuchi's only influence. Only that Tomino influenced him. And particularly influenced him by teaching him how to be edgy, which is the only reason I brought him up because it ties him to Nagai and thus Devilman. Kamen Rider Ryuki has nothing to do with what we're talking about.
i hope you get raped neet LOL
As a follow-up, here's the interviews where he mentions Black and Kuuga specifically. The source for his love of Ryuki is mentioned in the image I posted earlier. The ending of Gaim in particular was more based on him wanting to recreate the ending of the Kamen Rider Black manga, where the protagonist becomes the Creation King of Golgom at the end.

wow...what was psycho pass inspired by LOL
This.
Their original shows are usually disappointing, with a few exceptions. I miss when you could rent what you wanted from Netflix, now I'm forced to sift through so much garbage on their horrible interface to find something decent to watch.
No, I do not pay for Netflix.
Maybe you should stop watching gay anime, faggot.
get off my fucking board
I'm still not female or a fan of BL. You are still being hysterical.
That has nothing to do with anything. Why are you posting links to interviews to "refute" me when nothing I said was wrong or even related to Urobucther's known love for toku?
>desuarchive.org
cool thanks
go nagai literally invented edgy shit in manga. the violence and sex is is proper. go nagai had devilman lady getting raped every week she fought a new monster.
the only thing about Devilman Crybaby that resembled Yuasa is the art style and directing. The story is completely unlike him
If Go Nagai were alive today he'd be a Sup Forums poster. Let that sink in.
Lol he watched a (((Netflix))) anime, it's not Japanese it's not anime
It is Japanese. Netflix didn't make it.
So was the ending the same as in manga?
Or there are alternative endings
I just don't like stories where everybody dies\all goes to shit
Watch actual worthwhile film (that happens to be anime).
>Made by Japanese animator's Japanese studio based on a Japanese writer's graphic novel
>Isn't anime because Netflix is their international distributor
Dummy
The same, but with a longer monologue which expounds more on Ryo's insights. Technically the end of the Devilman manga isn't the end, it's continued in Devilman Lady, but is officially (According to Nagai himself) ending with Devilman Saga.
But no one died, they're living the same events for eternity, but slighly different
They also cheated it being a real gay relationship with "BECAUSE I'M A HERMAPHRODITE"
neither of those make any fucking sense. the world ends in Devilman, and is maybe (??) picked up by Violence Jack, where the world is fucked. I have no clue how the story is "continued" by Devilman Lady or Saga, unless this is all stupid "parallel universes" shit.
whom the fuck cares about devilman berserk completely surpassed it, devilman is just childish in comparison
Short answer: Read it and find out.
Long answer, which is going in spoilers in case you're avoiding spoilers: Ryo, AKA Satan, was in some way or another kind of a cunt to God or something. We still do not have the full details. God's punishment for Satan is to make him eternally repeat the same events of losing someone he loves over and over, with some variations here and there. Violence Jack is as much a Devilman sequel as it is any other Go Nagai sequel, it's a big celebration of his works in the most audacious and silly ways possible. This is outright referenced in Devilman: Amon. In the current "loop," Ryo is a woman.
What do Devilman and Berserk have to do with each other?
berserk completely falls apart after the golden age arc, guts is running around with a fuckin RPG squad now
no
Dark-haired protagonist is lusted after by white-haired faggot antagonist. Outside of this they're nothing alike and only share a theme of causality, and they both take it in completely different directions, namely with Devilman being an anti-war story whereas Berserk is a "I have no idea what I'm doing anymore" store.
no
Not an argument.
You Dun goofed by watching neo-berserk
spank
HAHAHA I JUST REALIZED THIS FAGGOT PROBABLY ACTUALLY WATCHED 2016 ANIME INSTEAD OF READING THE MANGA LMAO NO WONDER HE THINKS ITS NOT GOOD
good, i'm glad you feel that way.
Berserk's golden age story is a tragedy about Griffith's rise, downfall, and transformation into a monster, and that's the arc covered by the anime.
It works just fine without the wheel spinning the manga did afterwards.
The manga's in just as bad a state as the current anime. People were hyped about the hiatus finally ending and instead it's just slowly chugging along and barely doing anything, and the RPG party is still fucking there.
its only been 1 chapter released, if you're complaining about the time it takes for chapters released compared to pacing of the story you're a retard because i dont know how far you think the story is going to go in 20 pages
Berserk WAS good. it is no longer good. It has not been worthwhile since nearly all of us were in high school a decade+ ago. Miura has burned up all his goodwill and I feel bad for the remaining fans, clinging to the amazing greatness that was early Berserk, which is the only thing fueling their continued worship of Guts' Moe Adventures.
OK, that sorta makes sense; it's not particularly satisfying, but I wouldn't call Go Nagai a particularly deep or thoughtful storyteller. The man epitomizes style over substance.
I hope everyone watched the OVAs from the 80s/90s (can't remember when). Those were awesome (Apocalypse of Devilman, eh, not so much).
Berserk is basically the Japanese Game of Thrones. Both started out super strong and actually caught viewers/readers completely off guard, both slowly declined in quality after a strong opening, both are now perpetually treading water and will never get a satisfactory finish, and both have adaptations that start off fucking great and then end up even worse than their source material by a fucking mile.
And both creators would rather fuck around than actually finish the series because they know deep down they are hacks. I wish both GRRM and Miura would die before finishing to see the fans of both lose their shit. I hatewatch/read both series so I've got nothing to lose.
90s berserk adaptation is pretty awesome I think
This. It really loses a lot of quality when the troll arc starts and it gets only worse
>90s berserk adaptation is pretty awesome I think
It is, I'm considering that the strong opening and the 2016 Berserk to be the godawful continuation.
Should've watched a good anime instead, like Lucky Star and Fooly Cooly.
is it your first anime and that is why you hate it, if you keep going, you will be ruin
>Just finished this. Anime is so gay holy shit.
i bet this guy watched it in english
I didn't, how was the dub?
sorry user i dont speak canadian
You don't have to "save" threads from getting archived. If people have lost interest then just let it die.
I just watched the first episode and I'm starving for more of this kind (or anything like it). I'm tired of browsing through weeaboo shit. Give me some hardcore action or drama. Shit, even comedy will do as long as it's not pandered to fucking children.
>dude noone is good lmao
reddit tier anime
>running around with a fuckin RPG squad now
