I never understood the "problem" of piracy. It isn't actual theft. I can't afford to buy this shit. I'd never actually buy it if I had the money.
How is that harming the film industry again?

it isn't harming the film industry, it just harms private monopolies which i say go for it.
Taking away money from (((shareholders))) and (((producers))) isn't a bad thing.
In fact, you could argue that it's moral and ethical to do so.
That's because you're dumb
Fuck you OP, if you'd never actually buy it then don't pirate it. People don't dedicate their livelihoods to create something just so you can consume it for free. If everyone acted as selfishly as you do there would be no entertainment.
Let's pirate until we crush the Jews.
Imagine a hypotethical beer store that automatically refills their stock with no loss.
You come into the store, you steal a bunch of beer from a store, but that beer somehow magically get's immediately replaced in the shop so you get your beer and the owner get's zero profit.
And sure, you can say "but he didn't lose any money", but if everyone starts doing it he literally has zero profit in general, even though the beer is still there.
Same with digital piracy, yes the owner doesn't "lose" his item but he doesn't get any profit either.
There is no problem with it. Movies are an art form. As long as you enjoy it the artist who made it is happy. Only jews are angry about piracy and it is always a good thing to stick it to the jew.
t. Chaim Shekelsburg
>As long as you enjoy it the artist who made it is happy.
Yeah user I'm sure they are happy when they go in heavy debt to make a film happen and then not get their money back so they can't make the next film happen, nice logic there
Note to everyone strictly pirates everything: YOU are the reason of the terrible state of today's film industry.
Because you fuckers pirate EVERYTHING and by not paying to support what you really want to see in theaters studios have turned to literal millenial kids and the foreign (mainly chinese) audience who do pay for tickets so they can brake even.
You are the reason why we have so much degenerate capeshit being pumped out of Hollywood right now, that's the only market that pays off today.
Hollywood made great films in the past when people payed and have shown support to films they like financially, so studios kept making quality films with quality directors and writers so people keep coming back. Then torrents came, people stopped paying for films no matter the quality and the studios have started taking literal-who no name directors/writers to make films for as little money as possible for the rest of the audience who are still paying for it, the chinese and millenial kids.
Pay for what you like and want more of
>How is that harming the film industry again?
If you don't indoctrinate people into thinking that piracy is bad and punishable, your profits will go down significantly.
Movies may be art, but movie industry is business. It's capitalism, darling.
I'd probably buy some of it, or pay for a subscription for something. It's selfish and while obviously not as bad as actual theft, still morally wrong in theory.
I'm just not a faggot who needs to justify it.
If i spent my time making something and some cheeky cunt gets to have it for nothing, then fuck that guy i'm going to try and stop that from happening even though i didnt lose anything. Principles m8, feeling entitled to something for nothing is nigger logic. You are as bad as a nigger and should be treated as such.
Strictly speaking it's immoral because you're consuming something for free which was meant to be paid for. As a practice it's anti-social because it relies on most other people to pay for media and create incentive to produce it, and If most people did do it much less media would be produced. However, a given individual doing it has no noticeable detrimental effect on any human beings, so it could be argued that the immorality that can be attributed toe the average media pirate is minimal, at best limited to a matter of principle.
It's the price of admission
Piracy is the same as sneaking into a movie theater/music festival
I hope it hurts them, hollywood needs to die.
The majority of people making these films will get paid the same regardless of how great or poorly the film is received.
The only one you're hurting is shecklesburg who keeps all of the profit.
A movie making 300m more without piracy doesn't go to the CGi animators.
I'm entitled to watching the things that interest me. If it's not on Netflix I'll pirate it. It's the business' responsibility to cluster all content into one streaming service. Then I will pay for my content.
Hollywood needs to die though
...
My grandmother has a perscription for her medicine. If you steal it from her, she can get more. But does that somehow make it morale? She could pretty easily get really sick or die in the time between you stealing it and her being able to replace it. That's what piracy is, basically.
>im entitled to enjoy the efforts of another for nothing
Nigger.
>making art only to make money
They deserve to fall flat on their ass. If you want to make money you don't become an artist. You becoem a banker. Their worthless movies without heart and soul should make them go broke for the rest of their life so they never attempt to make another movie again.
More like
>Let's pirate until we're left with just capeshit and starwars
anti pirate cucks BTFO
>The majority of people making these big budget Hollywood films will get paid the same regardless of how great or poorly the film is received.
ftfy
>hehe I can still make the money
not if everyone has a piracy gun like that
Wrong I saw Fury Road in theaters and even bought the blu ray because Miller makes good movies and I like to support him. Checkmate Ishmael Goldbaum.
normies dont
REMINDER THAT "PIRACY" IS AN INSIDIOUS AND DELIBERATE USE OF LANGUAGE MEANT TO DEMONIZE THE HARMLESS ACTIVITY OF SHARING. DO NOT USE THAT LANGUAGE. THAT IS (((THEIR))) LANGUAGE.
Making films is not the same as making a painting user, you can't make a let's say world war 2 epic just with a camera and your two friends, I'm sure you are aware of this but you're playing to be stupid to defend your retarded ass argument.
Nope. Hollywood set themselves up as the shared culture as they attacked Christianity and bastardized western myth for their shit. I have every right to participate in my culture for free. If they don't like it. Get real jobs.
Protip: piracy affects the entire film industry, not just Hollywood. It's actually even more harmful to the smaller guys, because Hollywood get's paid no matter what.
>I can't afford to buy this shit. I'd never actually buy it if I had the money.
And what makes you entitled to watch it anyway? We live in a capitalistic society; if you don't have the money to participate then why should you be allowed to anyway?
Do you financially support non Hollywood films then?
People pirate Netflix shit, but it's doing just fine, look at all the good stuff they've released recently, both movies and series.
Ticket sales are lower not because people pirate shitty HDTC/CamRips instead of going to theatres. It's just there are more opportunities to watch a movie some time later in the comfiness of your own home.
As for dumb capeshit and remakes and reboots and whatnot, making money off of movies is basically like gambling. So it's understandable that studios choose the safest bets.
like that gonna happen
When you pirate movies, you don't steal the medicine, you clone it for yourself with a magic wand.
Cool i'll come and share your house then hehe
*sneaks in*
Well I can't afford it anyway so it's OK
>you can't make a let's say world war 2 epic just with a camera and your two friends
Of course you can. I mean obviously you can't because you just think as far as jewish propaganda lets you but actually creative people with drive and passion can do thinks you wouldn't even begin to imagine. Stop accepting the reality (((they))) build around you. There is always a way out user.
THAT'S FINE BUT I'M 6'3" 260 AND I'D LIKE TO """"SHARE"""" YOUR BOIPUCCI
>implying people can't have roommates
Antipirate fags are losing their minds.
You missed my point. We no longer have a shared culture in the west because culture has been made a product instead of something patronized by the wealthy to give back as a form of noble obligation. I have a right to participate in the culture of my day without submitting to an entrance fee, an any action that helps hasten the modern systems death is good and just. There is no desire to shift my funds to something else. I want destruction of the system.
>((()))
is that a vagina?
They won't lose money on you
Nice advanced mental gymnastics you have there, feel free to point me to those creative people that make such grand scale films with no money at all, because they don't exist.
If you tell 2 people to see a movie that they normally wouldn't see, because you've pirated it, is the damage undone?
a (((vagina))) (also known as oypussi)
Harming the ((film industry)) is the entire point, cuck
>I have a right to participate in the culture of my day without submitting to an entrance fee
What a braindead delusional thing to say. What if you are participating in something that is not "your" culture, say watching a japanese film?
Yeah so it's OK
haha yeah I also enjoy harming the film industry so much that every small guy get's completely fucking fucked by piracy while all the A-list stars and capeshit remains untouched by it haha sure showed them
I owe them nothing, it was made for nips by nips.
So in this thread are people who are unironically saying that's it bad to watch a movie for free on the internet but it is perfectly fine that a movie ticket costs 20 bucks?
If it's harmful for the smaller guys because their projects are deemed less profitable by the industry, maybe we should crush the system that is based on gaining profit?
How would you make a bigger film without the money? Should we watch just student shorts and nothing else?
>Reddit spacing
Look, I'm sure that almost everybody in this thread torrents films, the difference is one side isn't retarded enough to pretend like it's a perfectly moral choice that doesn't affect the makers at all.
An IMAX ticket costs around 5 bucks in my area. 3-4 bucks for a regular screening.
And where is that? I always have to pay extra because they only show the dumb movies in 3D even though I don't want to see them in 3D. But 3 bucks? That's just ridiculous.
>And where is that?
Czech Republic, Prague.
>I always have to pay extra because they only show the dumb movies in 3D even though I don't want to see them in 3D
Why do you watch dumb movies?
KEK
not being able to afford all the media that you consume is the entire point.
>that a movie ticket costs 20 bucks?
where do you live? Are you talking about regular screenings?
>the difference is one side isn't retarded enough to pretend like it's a perfectly moral choice that doesn't affect the makers at all.
This.
I know what I do isn't legal and I don't care, I also try to support the smaller directors
>pirate a movie
>I like it
>watch his next movie in the theater
Not dumb movies. I meant that in a general way like those fucking movies. Well shit I would go watch a movie for 3 bucks.
Hollywood just lost all it's fucking originality and wants to stick to the same old memes. remakes, sequels, adaptations. creativity is dead.
and you arguing that piracy killed the creativity is the FUCKING DUMBEST thing that has ever been done on the internet. creativity DOESNT NEED AN INCENTIVE. you are a genius, else, your FUCKING NOT.
if anything has ruined hollywood, its hollywood itself, its become a rerun thats worn out cause all the good writers are going into TV shows. and because the american audience is not the hard working, salt of the earth it once was.
also, fuck you nigger kike
>Hollywood just lost all it's fucking originality and wants to stick to the same old memes. remakes, sequels, adaptations
Yes because that's the only thing that pays off today, making money off of nostalgia. If you payed for what you liked before this capeshit and reboot reign would never happen.
why are people on this board so unbelievably stupid compared to other boards. This place is like a magnet for retards
You're too young to remember what movies were like before the internet, but trust me, it was just as shit, only now you have huge budget shit.
I remember way back when a couple people at work would pirate shit and burn it to cds and sell it
i could definitely pay for it if i had to, but i don't because piracy is free and easier.
so i can understand it.
