Is it okay if I skip the songs?

is it okay if I skip the songs?

why not just skip the entire film?

No

You should skip all the scenes of that piece of shit film.

Yes, there just filler anyway

yeah, but preferably not the very last one

the songs are pleb filters

but i like the jazz goose plays and i like the cinematography and pretty colors desu

You have to suffer through all the garbage, all of it, to fully appreciate the kino ending.

I generally could not be less interested in musicals, but I really liked the song parts. They were shot and choreographed really well.

yes if you're reddit

Holy fuck this is a beautiful movie Emma stone looks amazing ive never actually understood what Sup Forums sees in her until now

>The faces she makes whilst teasing Goose to 'I ran'

maximum qt

That's the exact scene where i started to like her

Are you 12?

Emma makes this movie. Ryan is great also, but without charm and charisma from Emma this movie would fell apart imho. Imagine cold emotionless Watson in that role, jesus.

Hur dur we don't like anything that reddit likes Fuck off you retards

Star Wars Prequels and Zach Snyder's body of work. Idiot.

It's okay user. Do you ask permission to take shit also?

Btw, she was improvising this scene with "i ran"

what was the point of this movie lads? I gave up after Emma Stone gave Goose shit for getting a job

>when they start floating in the air at the observatory
NANI

>Emma Stone
>I ran
>Goose
>I drive
It’s like poetry

The point is women actively try to ruin your life and ultimately you need to do you.

She wants the goose dick is what you're saying

I thought that was it but I didn't think a musical would have an anti-women message

Subversion. Women are too dumb to get it so that's how you get both audiences.

But isn't she the MC?

It's all about perspective. Women probably empathize with Emma's character

That's my point.

It ticked my autism when that one song in the poster happened and the music goes
>tap tap tap tap
And no one is tapping their feet on screen. Where was the tapping sound coming from? Ruined my immersion IMO

>I gave up after Emma Stone gave Goose shit for getting a job
that's women in a nutshell

The songs are literally the only good part

But didn't she give him shit because him taking that job meant he gave up on his dream ?

>gave Goose shit for getting a job

Scenes men will never understand.

The first twenty minutes or so are agony, I was nearly leaving the theater when they had that song before the party right after the beginning. But other than that it's a good movie and the musical numbers don't feel like they get in the way of the story for no reason.

Didn't he need the money to buy his club or something?

>I'm going on tour for a year
>WTF YOU GIVING UP YOUR LIFE DREAM
Nigga life is longer than a year, he was making money

She gave him shit for being unsuccessful and then gave him shit for giving up on his dreams so she could shut up about him being unsuccessful.

He did it to please her mother because of that scene where emma is on the phone talking about him

Yh wtf i thought he needed the money to buy the club

This, but unironically and less angrily

He never set out to make money to buy the club. He took the job to please her.

I can't believe goose had another angry moment

WHAT!?

reminder this movie is unironically how hollywood sees itself

You can't skip the songs because the kino finale is set to a medley of all the songs you've heard so far, so you need to have actually heard them for it to have the same emotional impact

You need them for that pavlovian response

>That scene where Mia sucks off the kike producer for a role but he gives it to someone else and laughs at her

Right in the feels.

There is a part I never understood about this movie.

Was Emma shit acting or acting well? Why didn't she ever get roles? I don't get it. We get her acting as a character trying to act, and I can't tell if she is acting well in the scenes or not.

Was she meant to be a good actress that never gets roles because of interruptions? Or was she meant to be a shit actress but due to perseverance she finally got the career she wanted, giving you a "never give up" message?

I don't get it.

I posted this in a star wars thread by mistake

She was an up and coming actress who got better as she went until she got a big break.

I assume there is a lot of good actors and actresses in hollywood that never break out into the mainstream, It's about luck.

>when she goes to see her child and husband in a nice apartment
>Goose is still alone
My heart fucking dropped

its realistic and honestly my favorite part of the movie

I think she was a decent actress that was never noticed, which I imagine is pretty common. Acting is piss easy and lots of people want to do it. I'm sure plenty of great actors give up before they ever get the chance to actually do something.

Weirdly enough, yes. Unlike other musicals, the story is not told thru the songs, they're literally irrelevant to the narrative.

Considering that Emma did best acting-in-acting to date, its obvious that Mia was talented actress that was getting rejected because "reasons"

>is it okay if I skip the songs?
Just skip to the half hour mark. They frontloaded all the really bad songs and.. let's call them "character building moments". After that it improves dramatically.

>Emma makes this movie. Ryan is great also
That's definitely true. He's just playing another one of his classic "Ryan Gosling Asshole" characters. Without emma bringing some charm to it, it basically would have just been The Believer again, but with more songs.

>Weirdly enough, yes. Unlike other musicals, the story is not told thru the songs, they're literally irrelevant to the narrative.
Well, it never really feels like a Broadway-style musical.
Seemed to me they were going for something more along the lines of an old Fred Astaire movie, where you get a story bit, then a song-n-dance bit, then another story bit, then another song-n-dance bit, and so on.

I don't get the ending scene what it is trying to tell us?

That goose shouldn't have been so stuck up and just embraced her the first time? That they shouldn't care about their passions and just stay together? Or was it just a "what if" scenario for the fun of it

Pretty dishonest

I fucking hate musicals.Willy Wonka / Sound of Music / Lion King, only ones I can appreciate. See this. What the fuck, I love musicals now. What did they do!

Just a what if. A literal fantasy of what could have been.

...

Watch Les Miserables too, pure kino

its what the goose wanted you idito

Someone cut the songs out and upload it, please
