What are some comics that are just completely incomprehensibly batshit insane, like the Doom comic or Neal Adams' Skateman (or any of the books from his company Continuity Comics)?

berserk

>Neal Adams' Skateman

Nextwave

The correct answer is Crossed.

Really anything that Neal Adams has done in the last 20 years is fucking insane. Especially Batman Odyssey and Coming of the Supermen. Literally they are like some manic fever dream and barely comprehensible at times.

Dial H

>his company Continuity Comics

That company was... something.

kill 6 billion demons

Not that I'm complaining.

>anything that Neal Adams has done in the last 20 years
>only the last 20 years

You clearly haven't read his 80s comics. He's gotten TAMER over time.

Read the obscure golden age ones and silver age DC.

That's a different kind of nonsense than what OP posted about.

Context?

Batman Odyssey is such a strange comic

I read it, I look at the words and understand what they mean, then I have no idea of what's going on at the time.

Also the art is fucking insane in how goofy they can look

Neal Adams' style is VERY expressive. Plus it has this weird mix of cartoony and realistic, which just makes it seem even more exaggerated.

Stray Toasters is pretty out there.

WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON
>String out of my knees

You fucks don't even know the mean of incomprehensible.

oh fuck I had forgotten all about that lol

Batman Odyssey
Ultimate Warrior's comic
Some Heathcliff comics

There probably needs to be a Storytime of Madness where it's Neal Adams-written comics, Ultimate Warrior's comic, and Gallagher's Heathcliff.
I don't know about these, there's still a reason to the madness, the same way as Morrison's Doom Patrol.

>Doom comic
>incomprehensible
You're just not a berserker packin' man and a half, user

Yep.

>Crossed
Perfectly comprehensible edgelord garbage (with a good story or two here and there).

What. The fuck.

>Storytime of Madness
Oh I second this emotion. Also if somebody can dig up some of the extra-weird underground stuff from back in the day.

does anybody remember Ant Comic

The Doom comic is just like Tommy Wiseau's The Room: so horrible yet so good.

RIP AND TEAR

fuck, like everything I read as a kid in the 90s was just insane
Flaming Carrot and Ralph Snart were my favorites

HERE COMES THE NIGHT TRAIN! to Mundo Fine

I loved the Linkara/Spoony review. Back when Spoony wasn't an asshole.

DO YOU FUCKING THINK YOU KNOW BRUTALITY AND INSANITY?

I think the first one was great (and in retrospect, it was probably everyone's peak). The second and third ones dragged stuff out. The second was also the one where I was thinking things were gonna go downhill.

BECAUSE THIS SHIT IS ON A LEVEL OF ITS OWN

BEAR WITNESS TO THE GLORY THAT IS KLOVIS

But still: WARRIOR RAPED SANTA!

KLOVIS THE REDEEMER

THE CHOSEN OF THE EMPEROR

Even the coherent parts of It Hurts read like a fever dream

JoJo

what is... even happening here?

>What are some comics that are just completely incomprehensibly batshit insane

Ultimatum

I've learned that this is a thing with wrestling comics. I remember picking up pic related and the big reveal was that Triple H was this immortal demigod warrior who was bestowing his powers to dead wrestlers.

they were fighting with Jojo-esque stands at some point

Another series basically said "They're not wrestlers...they're gritty noir characters that just happen to do your favorite wrestling moves!"

The Filth by Morrison, and to a lesser degree, The Invisibles

Reading Batman Odyssey gave me a headache.

It was more a thing with 90s wrestling comics.

>There probably needs to be a Storytime of Madness where it's Neal Adams-written comics, Ultimate Warrior's comic, and Gallagher's Heathcliff.
I agree, though I can't think of anything else to add to the list at the moment.

Spring Cleaning: The Event by Jeph Loeb

I gave up on the Ultimate Universe after this.
