I've watched this entire show so far, and there is no fucking way anyone involved with the crew would EVER greenlight that stupid shit. Rick & Morty is one of my favorite currently airing shows and I don't understand the hatred people have for Rick & Morty on this site. All of the arguments I've seen just come across as "muh Tumblr boogeyman" and that's it.

It uses some genuinely creative speculative fiction ideas and takes them to some stupid logical extremes that would be unlikely to be entertained elsewhere. I think at that point you're confusing 'smart' with 'creative,' though, since the only real thought it provokes is generic-brand nihilism and very, very quiet criticism of that same nihilism which is often overshadowed by one half of the titular duo.

It's lost that charm it had in season 1 when things were new and exciting. It's just another syndicated show now, unless they deliberately start sending up and mocking the "lol so random muh nihilism" humor, they're going to lose the heart of the show completely.

Basically Roiland got bored of over-arching plots and doesn't want to do them as much anymore. Hence why they rushed through resolving almost every conflict they had in the first episode.

But there is a chance they might conclude both plot conflicts, though they may rush through it like they did with Rick's jail break in Season Three Episode One.
Would have been better as a two to three parter, but I was still satisfied with the end result.

Rick was a better character in the first few episodes of season 1 than he is now.
Season 1 is some of my favorite programming to ever come out of AS, but by S2 the shtick was already starting to wear kind of thin for me. Compare the quality of the improv episodes. It looks like 3 will be more of the same I guess. I'll watch it but I'm keeping my expectations low.
