I'm not sure, it's easily by far and large the best piece of visual art created in 2017.

Irony was a mistake

It's literally comic strip-kino.

it became my go-to background noise, what a marvelous piece of visual art.

...

NO FEMALE EMPOWERMENT SO IT WOULDN'T WIN ANYTHING IN THE CURRENT YEAR

NOW IF GARFIELD WAS SEXUALLY ABUSED BY THE PIPE'S MICROAGRESSIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING

because the academy is full of plebs

I should rewatch it.

What is this

Kino beyond measurement

I thought it was a mirror.

This is beautiful

What did Jim Davis mean by this?

YOU BETTER SIT DOWN FOR THIS ONE

I can't even imagine the hell of being put in a rage room.

Was this video done all in one take?

This honestly is such a great video. There's so much committal to the joke that it becomes serious, and it becomes so serious that it all becomes a joke again. A work of comedic art.

It does not matter.

It does not matter.

Even better this dynamic cycles around a couple of times.
The Philip Glass piece in the background and the editing effects are all a boon.

watching this for the first time now
this is great

That's probably my favorite part. You can almost literally see him freaking out this woman pointing at the pipe strip and her politely saying, "well yes, a cat would have a hard time seeing the colors here" before getting the fuck out of there.

Doggone it that's one filthy whore.

better than just about everything I've seen this year

Mmhmm.

Does anybody else think about how much effort was put into this? It was a low budget satire on the vanilla jokes and banality of Garfield that completely stopped posting videos after 2008 and then all of a sudden reemerges in 2017 with ultra high budget cinematography (see the end of the last video and the Miami Vice one) and much longer videos and elaborate set ups, and apparently from some of the watermarks you can tell that these were made over the years they haven't been posting videos. It ends with a biting attack on Garfield as creatively bankrupt and uses this graphic abortion metaphor and then the videos stop. Why did they put this much effort over the past 9 years to get this point across? Is is just sheer dedication to pulling off brilliant satire that becomes funny on a higher level just by the amount of effort put into it?

>IT

What did Jim Davis mean by this?

Basically.
Chances are he'd do this shit between other projects, too, and just went back to it from time to time. Judging from their longer videos, these guys are pretty damned patient.

Something about the laughtrack makes me chuckle everytime

My best guess is he drank some sort of canine fertility drug or dog cum on accident, but I might be overlooking something

WHAT THE FUCK ITS GOING HERE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The pure existential horror of an old man who realized he contributed nothing to society but an inane cat comic that provides neither depth nor humor, and he's only had two sexual partners his entire life.

I always assumed the two were supposed to be Garfield and Odie that were raped by commercialization hackery and creative bankruptcy

one of us

How many should he have had if we assumed the comic as a constant in this scenario?

I pick this when it's my turn for movie night.

See, I saw "Jon Arbuckle, 2" to be Jim Davis himself (he really does have two known sex partners, his ex wife and his current wife), and he even looks like Jim after the real Jon looks at him with disgust and introduces himself as "Jon Arbuckle, 0" before slamming the door in his face.
Arbuckle never got lucky with women, and of course he'd specifically blame his creator for this.
The rest of it is Arbuckle looking at young people knowing he'd never relive his youth or be able to start over, staring at the corpse of his cat, his only real contribution to the world, and confronting the corporate monster it had become amidst the wasteland of his creativity, then getting killed by that monster.
I took the stillbirth scene to be a look at Garfield's and Jon's lives after Davis's inevitable death, and her statement of nothing ever dying, along with the corpse of the new Jon opening its eyes symbolizing a continuation by a different author.

Postmodern or abstract comedy at a guess? It's hard to say.

That poor doggo.

>the corpse of the new Jon opening its eyes symbolizing a continuation by a different author
This is exactly what happened with Heathcliff. The original author died, and when the new guy took over we found out what bad really was.

THE SURVEY VIDEO IS BRAINLET MEMEING

PIPE STRIP ANALYSIS IS THE MASTERPIECE

Both are great you pleb.

...

WHY DOES THE BACKGROUND CHANGE COLORS WHEN IT'S THE SAME FUCKING ROOM
FUCK YOU JIM DAVIS

>all the videos on the channel are either one minute long or multiple hours
>the creators seem to drop a crop of videos all together once every ten years
the fuck is this

one wall is painted differently than the other

...

is this comic strip a white flight joke?

are they painted between every pane?

I mean he's not wrong, it does work

no its a joke about how cats like to kill what they eat so a cat making a sandwich for work would put a live bird in the sandwich

Nigga what the fuck

>This chaos cat Garfleld has turned his back on everybody!

It's kind of like loss

Twin Peaks fourth season looks great.

He dropped the ball with the slav chick.
Should've been irish. Then the joke could've been that she was Bill Murray's mother.

still the best

Is it true that '07/27/1978' took ten years of continuous filming and editing to finish? Has any other director shown this kind of dedication to his kino-craft?

It's all a money laundering scheme.

Someone please explain Lasagna Cat. This shit is scaring me

P-I-P-E

The same guys did that RoboCop video where he shoots a bunch of dicks.

Jim Davis a talentless hack.

Ironically though his comic strip has resulted in several brilliant works mocking it. Also the Garfield and Friends cartoon wasn't bad.

thats pretty much the point of it

He's either a talentless hack or one of the greatest postmodern surrealist artists of all time

Isn't this the NattyComics guy?

whats that facebook page with the more realistic garfield that just sits there?

what the fuck is this thread even about?

Abstract ideas.

Discussing the true kinovision piece of 2017.

I like Lasanga cat for sure but don't sleep on the 3d animated one from a few years ago, it's actually pretty cool.
