>worst supporting actress nomination
how the fuck? just because she was in a bad movie?

What? Sofia nominated to worst? Not that blonde slob?
This is just lame.

Yes

wait why? She was the best thing in that shitty movie

This.
She had few unforgettable moments, who knows, maybe her role becomes cult-classic.

That makes no sense

>Expecting taste from the same “awards ceremony” that nominated Stanley Kubrick and FREDDIE GODDAMN MERCURY.

Is this the Razzies?
Fuck, the Razzies are more of a joke and politically-motivated than the fucking Oscars themselves.

>she gets nominated
>the dumb blonde chick doesn't
Why are the Razzies so problematic?

giv mummy gf

but jlaw did get nominated user

C U T E
U
T
E

yes

Mother! was good though and her performance was fine
>REEEEEEE BUT I HATE JLAW
whatever.

BASED givposter

yes, razzies

LMAO

The same can be said but in reverse. I think JLaw did well in mother! but the movie was extremely flawed. Likewise, people like Sandra Bullock in the Blindside as they like that movie.

Actors are only as good as the movie around them and their actual performances mean very little when it comes to the awards, it's about the character written about them not themselves acting.

she did nothing wrong.
Her performance was much more natural than let's say Gal's "Wooden" Woman

What is worse, almost every review, while railing the movie, highlighted Sofia's performance as one of very few good things about it. Now they nominated her, instead of that Annabelle whatever blonde. Seems right.

The obsession with the Mummy on this board is one of the most esoterically strange things I've seen on Sup Forums. Are these just bots or something?

Do You really think fa/tv/irgins gonna forget exotic, edgy waifu, who suck men dry in a deadly kiss and then is put into some sort of BDSM-like restraints?
This is Sup Forums.
Remember pre-release threads? Sofia has been widely discussed here. Similar thing happened with her role in Kingsman, just on much, much smaller scale.

Fucking newfag

>some sort of BDSM-like restraints
The term is strappado

Sup Forums is full of contrarians.
If movie flops, gets critically panned or is just generally hated by people, Sup Forums gonna defend it.
Look at all these BvS threads, for example.
And as said.
Sofia, with her exotic beauty, that doesn't appeal everyone, got kind of fanbase here.

Are there other non-porn movies featuring that strappado?

...

lemme think...

There is that movie where natalie portman is tortured by the spanish inquisition (no, i can't remember the name)
Also, a crappy HK exploitation movie named the peeping tom about a killer collecting legs features a short scene

Oh well, so 2. Seems like this is really obscure thing.

found it, Goya's Ghosts
youtube.com/watch?v=r75SBLRLqMM

>ywn be her mummy slave and serve by her side in the new world she creates
IT'S NOT FAIR

There was a Transformers movie this year? Did absolutely *nobody* talk about it?

B-but she was fine, Tom looked forced in the role.

>worst supporting actress nomination
What the fuck? Is that actually a thing? It sounds like something a mean-spirited teenager would put in to try to be "funny".

Thanks. Still the one in Mummy seems to be different. She's kneeling, instead of hanging.

Kinda weird desu, it was arguably perhaps one of the most common methods of torture used in ye olde days.

Oh, there was an episode of 24 that included a brief segment

Decadely reminder that Stanly Kubrick was nominated for worst director razz for THE SHINING

The razzies are like a bizzaro awards shows where they give awards for bad things

Yup, suspending someone like that is pretty nasty torture that might give nerve damage, ruined joints and all kinds of nasty shit.
Kneeling is more of a restraining thing (but still really uncomfortable and capable of causing injury).

I still don't understand why they cast Grimes.

Are you the one who posted in all these Mummy threads that lasted for hours and hours?
1 guy posted a cool home-made "strappado" method with just a belt.
my GF loved it, lol

Yvonne Strahovski was in Chuck, but this torture is hot

It's all ok bro's - Guill lemontTorro has saved this dark franchise with the Oscar winning origin(s) story of the "creature" from the shape of water

nice feet

I like Grimes' music sometimes but she really needs to shower and shave.

Fucking love this board.
Sup Forums is so informative.

Nah, I participated in some of them but is not the man.
>1 guy posted a cool home-made "strappado" method with just a belt.
Go on...

this
quick, effective (not super effective, just for bondage-play) with no risk of screwing knots up, and well, can be done anywhere
then use 2 more belts for legs

Googled it. The scene is from 24: Live Another Day Episode 6
It was one of the methods considered humane due to not leaving visible injuries. Same with variations of water + board.

This is gold, so simple, so brilliant.

I don't care.
They nominated Mila for Leeloo in 5th Element too, and now that's more iconic than whoever actress that got an Oscar that year.
Also, giv mummyfu gf, now!

This was unironically the best part of the movie.

If they could have made her a little more naked, would have been better.

Is this an armbinder?
ggggghhhhnnnnnn

This movie was like they took a liquid labeled "meh" and dumped it onto a roll of film. Really, really forgettable and dumb. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was more entertaining just for its camp value.

It indeed is
scene begins at 51:44

Sup Forums loves traps, hence the obsession with a major Hollywood film starring one

smol

>contrarian
Seems like people who disliked the movie liked her in it though

Is this real or a joke? Does some actually go up there and accept a "worst _____" award and get laughed at?

Some do. Halie Berry shown up and collected razzie for worst actress in "Cat woman".. holding an Oscar she won year before.

finished that Mummy. Can't understand all the hate. It's not great but isn't terrible bad either.
The only problem with it is screenplay.
That's it. They correctly nominated Kurtzman for worst screenplay, but apart that, movie is fine. Some great moments too.
Sofia did nothing wrong, nomination to worst supporting actress makes no sense.
