>caring about the opinions of a talentless kike
Ford should die already pls
Saving Private Ryan, are you for real?
Saving Private Ryan should have won and Gwyneth Paltrow winning over Cate Blanchett was just as farcical.
he's just being a surly jew

What did Jack mean by this reaction?
Everyone got weinsteined that oscars
The Oscars had been a joke for a while before that but that really was the jumping the shark ceremony where everyone realised it was all just about who ran the best campaign.
blue streak desu
Harrison Ford is a talentless hack that can't act
But he can't even present an awards ceremony
He gives no shit
>Saving Private Ryan
>Good
You must’ve fallen asleep or shut the movie off after the opening scene I’m guessing?
>Being this SOYED
You sir are a patrician of the highest order. I salute you.
The Thin Red Line should have won. Hell, any of the nominees would have been better.
When was the last good year for movies? 2011?
A Bug's Life. First time I made out with a girl :)
>that like-dislike ratio
Man fags are still flustered about that 10 years later, huh?
It's a three way tie between TRL, The Truman show and Private Ryan.
>thin red line
Buffalo '66
Rushmore
The Big Lebowski
Rounders
Real subtle there Jack.
>mouths "what the fuck"
>this entire thread
>OSCARS ARE MEANT TO BE BASED ON MERIT
Are you all fucking deluded? You can't seriously be that naive.
Just like most boards nowadays Sup Forums is also dedicated to a hobby most users actually know nothing about, neither about the industry nor any quality products therein.
It's like going on /tg/ and seeing nothing but Hearthstone threads, with people trying to explain to you why their Pay 2 Win game is miles and miles better than Magic the Gathering.
>thin red line
unfocused garbage that tricks people into thinking it's good withj pretty shots and lofty dialogue
"Whoa" implying that there were better films that should have won.
Checked and correkt.
Early noughts. LOTR was probably the last truly great film made. There were others out around that time though.
Things went south when piracy became a very serious issue after the mid noughts. Prior to that piracy was less prevalent.
>TTRL is 20 years old
Fucking hell I'm old. Get me my hearing aid and dentures, youngen. Did I ever tell you...
>MtG
>not pay to win
I'm more annoyed by the lack of board game discussion.
>Truman Show lost to this
Did the Academy ever not suck dicks?
Every single one of the other nominated films are better, especially Brokeback Mountain.
>Harrison Ford is a talentless hack that can't act
He got the best intense face in the business. Leonardo Dicaprio and Mark Walberg can't hold a candle to it.
all you need to do is make a movie about some le brave liberal journalist fighting for le freedom and you're guaranteed a best picture nom
You make no sense. I've been pirating movies since late 90s. Few years before LotR. When it came out I had it earlier than my local cinema. You just must be young...
confirmed
2007.
crash is like the ultimate oscar bait movie of all time
nirvana was so ahead of their time, almost a decade before lord of the rings and they've already got the look down pat
fucking hell how old are you
That was nominated in that category or something that was actually good?
>shakespeare in love
>Harvey Weinstein, producers...
GEE I WONDER WHY THEY DECIDED TO GIVE THEMSELVES AN AWARD
why the fuck do people watch this shit at all?
Yargh good job Captain Neckbeard
A disturbing foreshadowing of Kathleen Kennedy next to Spielberg when he's nommed for munich. what a nexus of kikery
>tfw my dick cheese and bellybutton lint got this film a Best Picture Oscar
Thread made me look back on best picture wards. Holy shit is there a lot of fucking retarded choices. So many movies no one even talks about anymore.
...
The Spotlight of it's time.
>LOTR was probably the last truly great film made
please leave
If Brokeback Mountain had won, and the entire cast got up to accept the award, Jack Nicholson would've had to shake hands with Heath Ledger - just imagine the Joker EPICNESS in that one moment.
im crying now!
Master and Commander not winning was the one that mangled my mangoes.
Life is Beautiful
It was up against ROTK
He still has to kill off Indiana Jones and make Chronicles non cannon first.
The madman probably asked if he could present it purely for that moment.
I can't believe those dumb kikes picked Crash.
2017 unironically
Wow, Mel Gibson totally ripped off Steve. I wonder how many motherfucker birthdays did he snatch in revenge.
It was still the superior film. The LotR trilogy could have gone without a Best Picture Oscar because none of them were really the best of their respective years.
This defeats itself. Once you actually start thinking about it, there are a fuckload of films that should have won BP over SiL. But then we all know the oscars are mostly mastabatory hollywood bullshit.
RotK has maybe 4 perfect scenes but Master and Commander is perfect throughout
The Oscars like to give retrospective awards, I think RotK winning was an acknowledgement of the cinematic achievement as a whole.
It's one of those Oscar instances I have no issue with.
So make it that very thing, a special award for a cinematic achievement--like a Lifetime Achievement award. Then give the BP to a film that actually deserves it.
I'm still buttbothered by Social Network losing to The fucking King's Speech.
Yes, that is the one that gets me.
>When was the last good year for movies? 2011?
I would say the last great year, but yes.
Wtf are you talking about, you neckbeard? Kathleen Kennedy has been a producer for Spielberg and Lucas for all her life. Stop letting a film for children and fat nerds affect your judgement of people, she produced all the three original Indiana Jones and has been an important person for Hollywood.
Makes sense, but they work within the boundaries of existing awards.
>I've been pirating movies since late 90s.
You're not a normie, who didn't catch on until much later in the game
Literally anything else made in 1998
Fincher is a hack
Whatever director it was that ended his flick with the main character triumphantly walking out to a roaring crowd is a hack.
Yeah yeah, but how THE FUCK did rocky win over taxi driver, honestly
