Who would you chose to be a director for Obi Wan standalone movie?

jean luc godard
John Milius is he didn't have a stroke. Or maybe he can get one of those Stephen Hawking chat boxes to swear at people with as he forces the cast to go to the gun range.
Riley Stearns
katheryn bigalow
why... why do i like this idea?
Clint Eastwood
George Lucas
Stormy Daniels
alfonso cuaron
Idris Elba
Guy who did Logan
maybe the guy that made looper, that was a sort of good movie!
...
Sophia Coppola
Raimi
Jordan Peele
Zach Snyder
JJ Abrams
George Lucas of course.
Fat Kev Smith
women can't direct
Bong Joon-ho
Michael Bay should be running the entire Star Wars universe desu
This movie will suck anyway, they dont want Padawan Kenobi or Kenobi between 1 and 2, its going to be about fucking tatooine.
All interesting choices
I personally would love to see a Kenobi which doesn't only show him a middle aged guy at Tatooine and maybe going on a secret adventure or soemthing. Much more interesting would be an approach like n Leone's Once Upon A Time in America. We see Kenobi in different stages of his life.As a young boy / Padawan, as a teen, dealign with his loss after EP 3 and so on.

Anybody see the “concept trailer” for the movie? I would unironically like to see some arty Jodorowsky-type, trippy production about Obi-Wan coming to terms with himself and talking to Qui-Gon’s ghost alone in the desert. It wouldn’t really be a Star Wars film and it would be too weird for Disney to ever even entertain the idea of funding it, but it’d be an interesting topic for a film.
Gore Verbinski
>arty Jodorowsky-type, trippy production about Obi-Wan coming to terms with himself and talking to Qui-Gon’s ghost
This would actually be awesome. Will never happen though. Feels bad.
James Mangold
what's the point then? make that movie about anything that's not star wars
i will direct him to do his way with me
No one.
Or if absolutely forced Quentin would be a nice change of pace
Joss Whedon
It already has a director. It was some incredible boring guy
Kevin Smith
Holy shit
everyone else above is either to pretentious or too plebeian.
denis villeneuve
and ewan mcgregor = kino.
>ewan mcgregor "accidentally" dies in a stunt gone wrong
Quentin Tarantino
yes.
The same director that directed Thor Ragnarok.
Daddy Dennis
PTA is the only option. He wants to as well
PTA wants to fuck trannies while snorting coke off their cocks as well
>movie becomes a shitty satire of race relationships
>He was merely pretending to be a hermit that whole time
>He secretly left tatooine to go on missions alone for his own purposes
>This is the story of one such mission
That’s probably the plan. It’s the only plan I can imagine since Ewan isn’t young anymore. And nobody wants an Obi Wan movie without Ewan.
It wouldn’t carry the weight of context. A well-made arthouse film about Ben Kenobi contemplating his failures in the desert would be pure kino. Harsh environments, silent shots, occasionally performing miracle healings with the force. It would be like that Russian film “The Island” in tone, but with a more artistic direction allowed by its budget.
