So Sisko sends Cassidy to jail for two months and she comes back and they keep dating? Based af, a true alpha.
Sisko had some good moments toward the end but his character was really bungled in the last couple seasons.
Also Cassidy Yates is in The Orville
>computer: fill the room with helium, safety protocols off.
>you BREATHE!
>and you have a PULSE!
Why was Bashir so surprised? you'd think this was all common knowledge given he was the only sentient android in Starfleet
Why do they have such sophisticated hologram technology and infallible transporters in STD? It doesn't make sense, Riker is clearly seeing new technology for the first time he goes on a Holodeck in Encounter at Farpoint.
STD writer here, who's Riker?
...
>never read the works of Dr. Bruce Maddox
No wonder this faggot ended up on some shithole space station
Data explained it, brainlet
well data is a cybernetic life form, it doesn't make any sense for him to breathe or have a pulse. in fact there's an episode where he drains the air from the bridge or puts a gas in there to incapacitate everyone to take control of the Enterprise and go to Dr. Singh's planet. Clearly his breathing is purely aesthetic.
He was just excited to know that Data's cock would throb.
I really hated early-DS9 Bashir. He was like an excitable child. Once the writers got him figured out, he was great. Just the right amount of smugness/cockiness without going full douchebag
did they ever say what the crew of the enterprise was up to while the E was being built after the D was destroyed? were they just all on leave or what
Why did they have updated uniforms on one show but not the other?
I can understand Voyager, but I never realized DS9 had those uniforms while TNG was still airing
He was an actually decent character from about season 3 to season 5.
Once they turn him mutoid augment they make him into something like out of the x-men cartoons are almost breaking the 4th wall with the line delivery

>Why was Bashir so surprised? you'd think this was all common knowledge given he was the only sentient android in Starfleet
in measure of men, they pretty much explain there is a lot that's unknown about data because they haven't dissected him and scanned all of his parts
Siddig hated it, and basically accused the writers of trying to make him into Data v2 or whatever.
So he admitted to basically blowing every single "technobabble" line of dialogue on purpose, until they got the hint.

You want the in universe or production reason?
Former: They are station staff and not serving on board a star ship and thus have different uniforms
Latter: I think I recall that it had something to do with all that color not working as well with the sets/filminjg for ds9 so they toned it down by flipping it.
Not gonna touch VOY though.
That makes sense. I just assumed they updated the costumes once TNG ended. That's nifty. We can all agree that the final, gray-shouldered DS9 uniforms are the best, right?
*it's possible that they first appeared in First Contact
I'm watching Voyager for the first time through and really wanted to post about this episode Macrocosm. It feels like something straight out of Alien and I love it.
Honestly the uniforms in every ST between TMP and Discovery were all pretty damn good in their own right. Some better than others, sure, but all really were iconically recognizable while not being distracting.
so i've noticed that TNG and DS9 hit their stride at some point later on in their series.
when does Voyager hit it's stride?
*its
>still no tos uniforms with nylons.

BOW YA WORKERS
why are orion women so lewd
cause they all wear sexy belts
holy shit you can SKI on the hollodeck
that's amazing
Commander, tell me about your sexual organs
Now you're starting to understand why holo-addiction is a thing in Trek
it doesn't matter what sexual organs you have
Riker will find a way to penetrate you
And he''ll step over any chair in his way to do it
I've never really been able to comprehend why they don't have tv or internet other than it being inconvenient to the plot but I'm starting to see why
...
How many times does Dukat say "I assure you" in total?
Stay tuned for the answer!
well he is very reassuring
that outfit is ripe for cosplay
would have been pretty cool if DS9 used its thrusters to spin itself like a gyrosphere when it was defending itself from the Klingons. that way the weakness points on it like the shield generators and stuff was constantly moving to avoid fire. all the while it kept shooting its torpedos and phasers at the fleet and shit. What we got was great, but I just wanna see it spin around
I can't watch that episode. Anytime I rewatch VOY and I get to Macrocosm I think, "holy shit, nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope"
Reminder that Kira took down 2 Klingon men and probably more after she was stabbed in the fucking kidney. She beat them to death with her bare hands. For a self proclaimed warrior race they sure fall apart like wet paper
t. STD writer
Their whole race suffers from the Worf Effect most of the time. We don't really get to see them be fierce melee warriors hardly ever. Even Picard fought off a couple when he was Worf's Chad'ich.
FULLY FUNCTIONAL
I get queasy just picturing it
what is the consistency and color of data's cum?
how does he produce it?
how much does he dispense each time?
the klingons were a lot more intimidating in enterprise
Adding onto this, it would be funny to go through every episode and make a list of when a Klingon is beaten in combat vs. when they beat someone else. I feel like it would be overwhelmingly against them.
Same as a human man. He has a DNA sequencer that replicates Dr. Soong's biological material. If Data, Lore or B4 knocked a female up, it'd be the same as Soong himself.
>MAYjuh
>CuhMANduh
>and when that time arrives
Attention Commander, I assure you my sexual organs are fully functional.
>tfw i read it in his voice
Would Data even produce cum?
I can see the rationale in making him fully functional so if he wanted a partner he could satisfy her in that manner, but why would he have ejaculate?
I guess it's possible since he was built with a lot of little extras like synthetic "tastebuds" but I don't think he'd actually cum.
Imagine if Dr. Soong somehow put his exact DNA into data and Lore and the rest so if they did get a girl pregnant it would be a way for him to make a clone of himself and could potentially be immortal that way.
their braaaaps must be overwhelming
They fart pheromones through their anal glands that renders a man and incapable of resisting their sexual advances.
You stay away from my daughter you fucking vole, that cunny is mine and mine alone.
...
there's a video where someone went through hundreds of TNG episodes to see how often data used a contraction, i'm sure somebody has cataloged that as well. star trek autism has no limits
...
>Also Cassidy Yates is in The Orville
it's confirmed, I'm an idiot
Noonian Soong is Arik Soong posing as his own descendent, using genetics to extend his lifespan. That's why he lived on the fringe of the Federation with a laboratory that could be hidden from normal Tricorder scans, disappointed in Data for joining Starfleet (despite having just been the critical factor in defeating the Borg invasion) and he always ready with "escape plans."
The DS9-VOY jumpsuits were slowly phased in, apparently. Riker started wearing one in Star Trek: Generations right in the middle of the movie.
More importantly, if you're female (or gay) and a holodeck character creampies you, what happens to the holocum when you leave the holodeck?
it's preprogrammed energy converted to matter so I doubt they'd have actual DNA in it
The real question is COULD they program holocum so advanced that it could impregnate someone
Why didn't Barclay just buy a holodeck?
It worries me that the STD showrunners have openly stated they are listening to fan feedback for the second season. You just know that they have come into /trek/ a few times for pointers.
they're crazy expensive and starfleet doesn't pay you anything.
>Why didn't Barclay just buy a holodeck?
The Federation stipends it's "employees" with the weakest amounts of latinum if the situation isn't sensitive enough.
I would live a sovereign life on Ferenginar.
This is implied by the fact that people on DS9 could frequent Quark's, but are the mechanics of how the Federation salaries people ever really discussed?
>but are the mechanics of how the Federation salaries people ever really discussed?
To my knowledge, no, other than very vague rare hints at it like having your replicator rights taken away.
fucking kek this is why i visit trek general threads
datta were a BAD ASS !
On a Starship, wouldn't you run multiple captains and senior officers? Unlike at sea, there would be no universal "night" time, it's just each ships internal clock, meaning that you have to be on "full day mode" around the clock, because you could meet a ship on "daytime" any time, anywhere.
they got paid with the honor of being on a starship and exploring the unknown
I would assume there would be a night crew that watches over things and wakes the main crew up if anything goes down. This is how most ships work now.
I think there were shifts. At night the senior officers would sleep but were always on call. If nothing important was going on I assumed Picard, Riker or Data would take turns managing the night crew
datt a TAK A POKER! !
Nice touch
>those chunky thighs
Riker is a B.A.B! (Big Alaskan Boy)
The only reason I read your post was because I thought your thumbnail was Lo Pan.
Oh yeah there were shifts, that was established in TNG (I think in Chain of Command)
But this is unlike a ship at sea, where you have the time to wake up on an alarm and get everyone into stations.
On a starship, (specially considering some enemies have cloaking devices) every second would count. You could be under heavy attack before the alarm even woke anyone up, nevermind having them run to their stations.
So I'd think it would be MUCH more viable to have every position fully staffed around the clock, instead of having a "night crew" with dimmed lights.
>it's an "O'Brien's wife is being an insufferable cunt and is ruining everything for everyone" episode
...
Have you never seen how the military deals with this? Acting captain has all rights and authority of captain until the real captain stands on deck and authority is transfered over. Coupled with transporters the entire crew could beam to battle stations in seconds.
I think S4 is where it really takes off because Kes leaves and Seven gets added but the Doctor and based Janeway keep it somewhat interesting until then at least
They should have had Keiko with him instead of another prisoner.
>fat
>no career prospect
>spent most time with his gay friend than at home
>racist
she had every right to be insufferable
It's all part of what I think is one of the dumbest decisions made in Star Trek and one of the biggest inconsistencies:
The Idea that at that point in the future Humanity has abandoned all concepts of Money and works on a philosophy of advancing the group and widening one selves horizon. This apparently to a point that when they the enter the holodeck (or travel trough time) they get bamboozled every time someone asks them for money: "ah yes, humans of this era still used currency". youtube.com
This is a honourable Ideal, but it throws so many questions: Why are there still scamartist criminals? What if you're a civilian and you want a luxurious Space-ship? What if you need rare and valuable resources for a project that don't occur on earth? What about Ferengi who CLEARLY are still highly currency based? (why would they be so thrown by the concept if it's literally still practised in the galaxy) What about the shit jobs? There's Bartenders on the Enterprise, what philosophy does that further? What about dangerous jobs that don't carry the prestige of Star-Fleet honours?
Robert Picard has a Vineyard he clearly keeps out of a pride for "the real thing", but how does he employ enough labourers if there's no money? How does he own so much land? Are there other farmers "for fun" with huge tracts of land? Who wants to be lifeguard at a pool all summer? TL;DR: Think of a shit job that couldn't easily be done by robots and try to explain why anyone would do it for free for extended periods of time.
Yeah, But that's not how it happens in TNG when they introduce the shift concept. They dim the lights and let a skeleton crew run the bridge (often involving Data because he doesn't need to sleep). If something happens, the crew gets waken up and literally runs to the bridge as (at least in TNG and TOS) internal transportation isn't really used at all.
What did Jadzia see in him?
Do you think that's why that guy in the first episode was wearing a skirt? Emergency saucer disconnect and the only thing you can find is the formal dress wear but no pants
