Amazing at documentaries

>amazing at documentaries
>shit at movies
I don't get it

Most studios don't give a shit about docs so they go to Netflix and get the most freedom to do whatever. Plus it helps Netflix with pushing agendas or whatever.

same as vice news, top tier documentaries but the written stuff is complete trash

pretty much this. Netflix knows these things can grab people's attention and hook em so they let them go balls out on any topic they want since it's cheaper than creating a film.

>Beasts Of No Nation
>I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore
>First They Killed My Father
>War Machine
I mean yeah they've produced some God tier documentaries but they're no slouches when it comes to film either.

Why don't they take more risk with making kino then?

>War Machine

Confused mess of a film, you could tell the writers had no clue what exactly the message was supposed to be. It attempted to be a serious political film, a comedy, a drama, and a war flick without convincingly acting as any. Really felt like wasted potential.

You're a fucking retard.

Recommendations? I don't think I've watched one.

Did anyone watch this? It came out in December and I can't believe I didn't hear anything about it at all. It was pretty good but kinda lost a bit of steam in the last couple episodes when it got more serious though.

...

Fuck, forgot pic.

haven't seen it but it looked like an amusing fake trailer for a show and I can't imagine the premise being stretched out for 10 hours or however many episodes there are.

I thought it was really good. Surprised how well done it was

>From the director of Suicide Squad
Well, doesn't get much riskier than that.

>Wormwood

Casting Jon Benet
Icarus
Heroin(e)
What Happened Miss Simone?
Into The Inferno

>Bloodline S1
>Mindhunter
>End of the Fucking World
>Beasts of No Nation
>War Machine
>Master of None
>Okja

I mean, they make some pretty good shit across the board. They're like Sony in the videogame department; nothing particularly mind blowing to reach the feverpitch heights of something like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, but enough variety that you're bound to find something you enjoy.

Mindhunter was fucking amazing, by the way. Wish I'd watched it sooner to discuss it with you nerds.

nc

they need more multi season dramas that are fresh original and don't have annoying characters

they need hbo tier shit, they laid out the formula don't try to deviate from it
