Genuinely creepy.
Yeah, the transmission sequences are the best part of the movie. So creepy and unsettling.
I agree, except afterwards I couldn't help thinking:
"The Doctor would have handled it a little better."
alex jones?

Wrong
YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED BY THE HOLY GHOST
YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED BY THE GOD PLUTONIUM
IN FACT...
...YOU WILL NOT BE SAVED
Seriously spooky.
Really fucked me up the first time I saw it. I don't know what it is, but it really unsettled me, I thought about it for weeks.
Runner up scene for me was the bug man standing in the parking lot. "I've got something to tell you, and you're not going to like it".
John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness." So awesome.
>the black dude wandering around giggling insanely and singing amazing grace
>when "the chosen" lady opens her eyes and sees the chinese guy hiding across the room

Great fucking scene.
worse for me was the guy hiding in the closet and the demon girl in the bed turning to look at him in there. would probably just kill myself at that point
Saw this for the first time on Carpenter's bday last week. Goddamn was it good
Also, The Void ripped off most of this film for its plot

I don't feel you. The Void was much less nebulous, the antagonist was just some asshole everybody could have conversations with and there were no "atmosphere" moments like the worms
No i'm comparing on much broader stuff, like a group being in one place, trapped by creepy stuff outside, and a demonic entity within. Thats all.
Certain thematic notes, sure. The cultists surrounding but not entering the building is certainly familiar.
I just enjoyed how Prince of Darkness's villain is so alien and incomprehensible.
Ah fuck I just realized how many Carpenter movies are united in this theme of a killer that exists outside of the very process of human thought. Halloween, The Thing, In The Mouth of Madness, even Ghosts of Mars. Friggin Lo Pan must be the most "conventional" villainous character he ever did.
The Void is like a really shitty combination of The Thing & Prince of Darkness with a dash of Hellraiser. Which is a shame since the first half hour or so of that movie is promising.
...
Ehh the revenge Ghost Pirate lepers from The Fog were pretty traditional and forgettable.
