Classic Marvel runs

Since recent Marvel hasn't been very good I'm taking the money I would spend on Marvel books and buying old runs. So far I've bought Waid's FF run. What do you guys consider classic Marvel runs. (pic related)

Waid literately hates Marvel

What his FF and Daredevil runs amazing.

if there your first time reading FF or Daredevil, sure

Okay what's your ideal FF run?

>Waid Daredevil
>Amazing

Found the Daredevil newbie

1-27 is pretty decent. It goes downhill when it hits the San Fran/Serpent Society stuff. I've also read Miller, Bendis, Brubaker and working my way through Nocenti.

Frank Miller Daredevil
Garth Ennis Punisher

Lobdell

read Kesel's

I'll be honest I've never read any Lobdell stuff other than his Teen Titan run. Was he actually a good writer at point?

he's the #2 X-writer of all-time

>he's the #2 writer of one of the most poorly-written franchises in the entire capes industry

but that's Johns and Teen Titans user

Kesel secretly has the best run on DD. Yes I like it just barely more than Miller

Fantastic Four by: Lee/Kirby, Byrne, Waid, Hickman
Daredevil by: Miller, Smith, Bendis, Brubaker, Waid
Hulk by: David (plus Planet Hulk by Pak)
Nick Fury by: Streranko
Thor by: Kirby, Simmonson
X-Men by: Claremont, Morrison
Silver Surfer by: Everyone
Captain America: Lee (post Kirby)

For Hulk, read all of Pak's work, not just Planet Hulk,

For Cap, add Englehart, Kirby's solo run, Brubaker, and Waid.

has there ever been a bad Silver Surfer story?

someone should storytime it someday because it really is
Kesel is secretly one of the best Big 2 writers ever

I'd add Simonson to the Fantastic Four list; not sure if it was ever collected though.

>has there ever been a bad Silver Surfer story?
Slott?

I'll second the vote for Simonson. Roy Thomas gets overlooked. Actually you should read everything by Thomas and Englehart, those guys are vastly unappreciated for helping craft the Marvel universe.

>not muhhh
Slott's SS is fun and just won an Eisner

>fun
There's that buzzword again.
