Nothing?

nobody watched it

Cancelled before it could finish

There's a few things I dislike about it

It's gushing over urban life is kind of cringy

Watching it post recession is hard because you see the characters bitch about their lives while living in a GIANT APARTMENT

I don't mind the fag couple but the liberal neighbor dyke bitch is annoying

The show was mostly good though, Kevin was my favorite character

It was too far ahead of its time

The brothers were annoying while the rest of the cast was golden.

>three people on apartment

>REAL WORLD ROAD RULES

They had Jim and most likely he paid the bulk of it with his high earning job most likely would of paid the rest just the keep his best bud and even his dweeb of a brother there just for the company.

>then got same best bro a high earning job with two talks with his boss who sees ALL the potential in Jim

And their complaining was due to encroaching hipsterdom and personal issues.

Andy bitched due to no one taking him for his artistic talent and the rest was him dealing with life.

And Kevin stuff.

Hell he never had to complain about getting laid.
The way I see it Andy went to the city to get picked up for a artist gig for newspapers and onward and Jim had the world in front of him due to his skills.

>its funny how it can't really fit now without a reboot cuz Andy would just have a webcomic and asking for Patreon support and Jim might of worked his way into apps for the money

>show ends with them realizing they could of worked together sense the start but they've been too stoned to think about it

>then they see that they both don't have a single clue of what to make and it come down to Kevin and his friends to pitch ideas for them

>and Posey and the gays are there for B-plot

It was cancelled before its first season was even over.
Ratings had nothing to do with it.

>It's gushing over urban life is kind of cringy
Uh, no?

>Watching it post recession is hard because you see the characters bitch about their lives while living in a GIANT APARTMENT
An apartment they can only afford by having three tenants.

>the liberal neighbor dyke bitch
She's a hippy. What are you, fucking twelve?

too much blue hair....reminds me of sonic

the blue hair is good though. It's stylish and memorable. It's also part of the aesthetic.

Not much. I would have liked to see Kevin succeed and grow. Might have happened had the show gone on longer

>that episode where Wally gets Kevin into old sci-fi classics and his dumb friends bitch that it's not like Star Trek

>Uh, no?
NEET living with parents detected.

How was the show "gushing" over it?
If anything, the show points out how shit it is.
Russ coming home with a knife in his head, perverts whispering penis into payphones, the dead end job, the horrible abusive boss, the ghetto school Kevin ends up going to.

The paint was too bright.

>Even Satan thinks living in the city is shit

It was put into the hands of a network who didn't realize they had solid gold. Though I'm kinda glad that it just came and went it's a really good time capsule of the late 90s and I have a hard time picturing this show even lasting a few more years after it started. I mean shit there's literally a line about wanting to sneak into a ska concert who the hell would say that out loud beyond 2000?

Also they would have been forced to switch to digital ink-and-paint sooner rather than later and it wouldn't have had even vaguely the same feel

It was kafkaesque

I don't remember that one but,
>that episode where Kevin and his buddies tried to cheat on their college exams for a perfect score

It was the nearest thing we will ever get to a Peter Bagge's Buddy Bradley cartoon. And that's sad.

It's the Plan 9 episode.

fpbp

Perhaps... too Kafkaesque.

can i touch your meat dubdubs

the blue hair was just the art style, their hair was black in universe. Same reason why they have yellow eyes it just looks cooler

Do you mean cooler as in stylish or as in cold because cold is blue?

He made them watch 2001 A Space Odyssey, and Toby and George didn't understand it. This was the same episode where Kevin uncovers Wally's old film starring Gus, which was maybe the most touching episode of the series.

Stylish

>then got same best bro a high earning job with two talks with his boss who sees ALL the potential in Jim
Although apparently Andy's job pays absolute shit if the unfinished episode scripts are anything to go by.

Or anime.

The technology they used made the colours turn out duller and the original cels are much more vibrant.

On MySpleen there's a 720p restoration that fixes interlacing problems and other quality flaws with the DVDs and also restores all the original licensed music that got removed, and to be honest I can't imagine it being much more vibrant.

Obviously a new transfer from the film (or a complete reconstruction from the cels) would be amazing, too bad it will never happen in a million years.

The big reason it got cancelled was because it was on the WB when the WB just became the network for Young Teenage girls, so it didn't fit.

A major point of the series was that Andy was supposed to change jobs every 7 episode or so since the show was not supposed to be static like the Simpsons. Eventually he'd rise to the top of the cartoon world and become Matt Groening around season 6.

Later, Josh Weinstein said that Kevin would have been very successful in the computer world, but at something boring like printers. So he'd just do what he always did and hang around Andy to feel cool by association

I'm honestly not sure if the show could have lasted six entire seasons. I love Mission Hill to death but it seemed like the kind of show that would reach its climax at two-three seasons max.

Working on uploading this definitive version for all to enjoy:

All episodes will be up in about an hour

It was the only cartoon that made me jealous of an animated character

I've watched Dragonball too many times and now the nose is ruined for me.

Not enough Posey.

...

> Not the Asian teen sister

It's all in there!

bump for kind user

You legend.

>Tiny dick for a nose.

u jelly Sup Forums?

user do it again...fucking badass

>cringy
>fag couple
>liberal neighbor dyke bitch
>Kevin was my favorite character

You can stop trying to fit in, now.

It was kinda touching but the whole "I gave up my career for the love of my life" thing kinda bothered me.

I mean, what was stopping Wally from having both? Did he really need to give Gus the starring role in his movie? Couldn't he date Gus AND let the hotshot movie star keep the role?

I think it was an irrational decision made from love - he wanted to spend time with him, and you had to be much more covert about your raging gayness back then. I think in the end what ended his career was that everyone figured it out anyway and he got blacklisted. That, and he made an embarrassingly terrible film.

>I think in the end what ended his career was that everyone figured it out anyway and he got blacklisted.

No what ended his career replacing a huge star that was gonna put butts in the seat with some nobody who was so bad that he scared away the film's second big star. So with both stars gone the studio pulled the financing.

is this the FLCL of Sup Forums?

No, because there will never be more.

penis penis penis penis penis penis

This cartoon helped solidify my love for Cake

The band or the pastry?

Honestly, I think it's the only real slice of life Sup Forums show that exists. Well, the only one that doesn't feature kids as the main characters.

I don't think he was talking about Posey. There was another minor side character who was a stereotypical liberal college professor type; she was married tot he timid Mexican and had a baby.

She wasn't minor and was a super jew.

Still doesn't make sense to call her a dyke. Literally the first scene she's in shows her taking care of a baby plus she has a husband.

>The moment whrn you realize you were a Kevin back in the days and your brother Andy that just wanted you to have fun
I was such a shitty brother

possey might be more fragile then others

>of
It's 've, user.

probably not

>>tfw you were Andy and you didn't help Kevin
I failed him.

Holy shit thanks, dude. Looks like it was worth coming to Sup Forums today after all.

Mission Hill is the closest thing the cartoon side of Sup Forums has to alt-comix.

Andy French was my idol when I was younger, I wanted to be a cool cartoonist who lived in a bitchin apartment in the city with his friends.

When I finally got to his age, I learned the harsh realities that come with those dreams, and rewatching Mission Hill as an adult made me realize how much Andy's life teetered on the edge of fun and major depression.

The "needing to get a foothold in your mid-20s" segment in the second unemployment episode was fucking sobering.

Not enough penis penis penis.

This.

you got a high quality image of Jim's Slutty shirt and his Karai pantsu?

THEY'RE. NOT. GAY

KARAI PANTSU

Eh, 2001 is not exactly what you start off with if you want somebody to get into classic movies.

Kevin expected their love of scifi to carry them into the world of classics that he was currently invested in. He had a good idea, but just didn't execute it well. It probably would've gone better if he had used Metropolis so they could waifu the robot.

Was Kevin gay?

No, he was in love with that Asian chick and fapped to Hustler in the grocery store bathroom.
He was just an enormous dork. If he were born 15 years later he'd be a Brony

Nah. He manipulated himself to pictures of naked women.

No, he's just a spaz. He's showed interest in multiple girls across the series and even burned down a convinience store while reading a playboy.
Wally and Gus were super gay though penis penis penis penis penis.

thats the point
you should read scot pilgrim

>its funny how it can't really fit now without a reboot cuz Andy would just have a webcomic and asking for Patreon support and Jim might of worked his way into apps for the money

as you wish, madam

you got me the dementoid expansion pack
he expansion pack not the game
without the game what am i suppossed to expand on???

page 10 save

>a 15 year difference is all it takes for someone to want horse pussy

If only you could save the show from oblivion.

Unfortunately I was 2 years old when it was on TV, so there wasn't much I could do; I do have some charming underage drinking memories involving the show though.

Seriously though, wasn't there a complaint about the paint being too bright?

I binged it recently from YouTube, if anyone hasn't watched it it's a comfy slice of life show from the early I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to slide back into the sweet sweet year of 2002. I think it didn't land because of shitty channel placement and it was somewhat slow, I wonder if it could've survived alongside the fox Sunday line up

You think wrong, and in many way, it shows how little Sup Forums knows about animated shows

Get out and come back to Sup Forums, when you grow some hair on your balls

this is true if his friends were true nerds then they would have read the book

I'm 20 damn years old with a job and a house and I've been on here for a lot longer than I should have, my balls are plenty hairy thank you

>it shows how little Sup Forums knows about animated shows

Well Sup Forums isn't one person user.

But anyway, does Undergrads count as slice of life?

That always bothered me. My parents didn't always have as much money as they could have because of mistakes they made. But the few times they were able to give me a gift of some kind, I appreciated it. I might not always be able to use the gift, or it may have been like this expansion Kevin couldn't use immediately, but I liked the gesture, and I could always use an expansion later when I'm able to get that game. Kevin was just being an entitled kid.

its pretty kino
