Why did they stop?

It's not like they'd ever run out of material.

with how mtv is today i'd doubt it

Claymation takes a long time to do. And the show has no rerun value because every single fight is heavily tied to pop culture at the time the episode was made.

MTV also canceled the 2011 Beavis and Butthead, which was honestly one of the most flawless reboots/revivals I've seen. Exactly the same show, but with things updated to better fit today's pop culture. But not in a cringy way, Beavis and Butthead watching Jersey Shore was pretty funny.

>the show has no rerun value because every single fight is heavily tied to pop culture at the time the episode was made.

Just like SNL and South Park, yet those things keep going and going.

Because those shows are easy to make, only a week to make an episode. Whereas Celebrity Deathmatch uses stop-motion animation, and that shit takes ages to create.

90% of teen me's knowledge of US culture used to come from this show

Most of the time I didn't know or care who the celebrities were. I just wanted to see claymation characters gruesomely killing each other.

youtube.com/watch?v=5T_R40Zb--U

Because it's no longer the '90s

Because MTV no longer has an audience for this type of show.

MTV now caters exclusively to 12 - 17 year old girls.

>mfw Robert Downey Jr vs Christian Slater

i've just recently watched the entirity of south park (my shitty 3rd world country dosnt really have it on anywhere) and I gotta say with exception of the last 5 or 4 season, south park is fucking great, and I dont even get all the references with me being not american and all

True, South Park is plain hilarious straight from Season 1

Couldn't they just use CGI? I'm pretty sure with a bit of skill, you could make it look like claymotion.

The show was actually constantly bombarded by law suits from celebrities with snowflake syndrome.
Aside from the gore the show wasn't even that good, the jokes were very hit and miss. As someone who wasn't born in the USA occasionally someone I've never heard of would be a fighter and that could retract from the experience. It's a very niche show.

I mentioned before on a thread how different I imagine this would be in the modern days.
The celebrity status has changed a lot and young people now are more familiar with Pewdiepie, H3H3, Milo Yannapolous, Slenderman, pranksters. You think they would be in the shows?

12 year old girls wouldn't care.

Shut up Boco

Yes sir...nice quads, sir...

As much as I loved this show, I admit it aged like milk. It's sort of like Tiny Toons and Animaniaxs in that it only holds up if you still remember the pop culture of the time.

Did you SEE the MTV2 revival? Massive decline in quality on all fronts

...

That takes effort.

Sometimes its best to just let things die.

>Implying King of the Lil' People wasn't the best episode

Why do you want to give him attention?

>Ethan and Hila Vs. Ethan and Moe

MTV needed more time slots for The Real World.

Laika should make a movie out of this.

the budget probably. Claymation is very expensive

>Sometimes its best to

*Sometimes it's best to

Bitch are you serious

same reason simpsons are zombies?

We don't know.

Is this a new troll or autism unleashed? Because its hitting chris chan territories.

Nobody watched 2011 Beavis and Butthead because MTV's 2011 demographic is very, very different than MTV's 1994 demographic.

That's because it was mocking most of the programming on MTV, which I'm sure was not appreciated by some folks within MTV

tmvs audience is 12 year old girls according to their own published statistics
thats why they do those godawful 16 and pregnant series or wathever they have been making for over 10 years now

12-17 girls are the absolue worse tv demographic
at least younger girls have good taste in cartoons

>are the absolue worse

Modern celebrities would probably take it as a form of death threat
Modern media news would report it as such
Modern MTV would cave to such allegations

>Every episode features a new celebrity killing trump

Like half the novelty of what made it even noteworthy is gone now that everyone just spews pop culture references instead of telling actual jokes. This show was very much a product of its time and the revival attempt really hammered that in for better or for worse.

>wathever

Robot Chicken has that niche filled now.

Don't compare that shit to Celebrity Deathmatch.

>we will never have a Manson vs Maynard championship title match

Only the chance of sex makes me want to live

Just accept the truth.

Didn't it actually get decently strong ratings?
The first few episodes averaged about 3 million views on premier, and then about 1 million for the rest. I don't know if that's shit or not.

The revival was shit, and the OG creators created a shit sitcom

The new seasons might not have been that great, but holy shit I wanna draw Tally Wong.

Hell, to be honest, it's not like the original seasons were that great.

No, it got canceled because Mike Judge is a conservative

The show was made in the late 90s. At the time, the only people using CGI were Pixar and (partially) DreamWorks.

And Mainframe

Robot Chicken has its moments

Had it's moments. It's been shit since Season 6. Actually, is that still on the air or not?

When the moustacheguy was pirating fucking kidssongs that was hilarious though

>draw Tally Wong

Inspiration:
Manara pose, reaching for a corncob, with Niles yelling "Outrage, (but I'll allow it)!" paranthesis text optional.

Dude, nobody cares about a misplaced comma. Let it go

>comma

>It,s

buddy if you don't have anything to contribute just leave

Actually it had strong ratings across all boards EXCEPT the teen girl demographic. Judge said he might move it to Comedy Central instead since both he and viacom own the rights

...

MTV didn't shut down decades ago?

why

i wanna play in her clay

Same, user. Same.

Taking Tally requests.

This is how brain cells die, with thunderous applause

Wearing something really skimpy, showing off for the camera.

Or honestly, a standard picture would work too. I wanna draw some Tally too, but I can't seem to visualize her hair in 2D. Would help if I had something to go off of.

(You).

Here's the standard pic. Gonna try the skimpy one now.

This one please.

Nice, very nice, man. Thanks.

tfw you submitted a great fight idea on the mtv website back when it was going but they never used it.

I submitted Vern Troyer vs Gary Coleman

A rough practice doodle.

Really nice dude. Hey... weren't you the guy doing the Glen Martin art? If so did you ever finish it?

I didn't, the thread died before I could do more. Didn't seem like there was much interest, haha.

I do want to do more, though, Jackie's cute.

Because the joke immediately wore thin after the first five minutes of the first episode and only people with special needs watched it.

They did Gary Coleman vs Ricky Schoder instead...the gimmick of course being "mildly successful former child star vs. total washout former child star"

I was interested desu. Anything Jackie would be fine for me. Do you have a Tumblr?

Wtf I have no memory of these characters, was the show moved to MTV2 or something at one point? It's been years since I even thought about this show but I distinctly remember the mustache-guy (johnny?) getting injured and it being a plot point, don't remember how it panned out though.

dustinscrazywackydoodles.tumblr.com/

I think they could pick it up again, make it a netflix show or online only, with single matches.
Where do shows like jackass and dirty sanchez go nowdays?

Followed :)

Okay, better way to do this and mitigate some of the staleness that would happen over time.

Straight up parody Pro Wrestling with insane plots and faded celebrities. Something serialized that Netflix would be into and that Stoopid Buddy Stoodios could handle.

There was a brief revival I think around the same time they were back into doing more animated shows. Shame that faded quick as I liked the Beavis and Butt-Head return.

Good looking characters in sub par shows.

>johnny?
That was Nick Diamond. Other guy is Johnny Gomez.

Here's the skimpy one.

>tfw you'll never see The Golden Don literally rip Killery Rotten a new asshole

Why even bother living?

Come on man, a (1-2 sizes too small) qipao is the obvious choise for asians. That being said, I like your stuff.

Or put it on adult swim

Thanks daddy :*

Would you two just fuck already?

Wanna join in?

Nah the need of a budget would kill it.

Well least we've had one side of that with people editing footage from his "feud" with Vince.

>Steve-O vs Andy Milanakis

>Watch as I approach this guy dressed as a twinky

>STEVE-O NO

>Gets eaten whole

This fucking show

It was even funnier when you get older

A couple of years ago they say it was coming back but nothing as of now.

I'm not the smiley using newfag, I'm just baiting for more free doodles.

For real though, I do like the artstyle, and Celeb DM threads are way too rare here.

How about she dropped her mic and we can see everything ass and legs?
