This is the baby whose surgery he was blubbering about night after night, so I'm assuming he wants us the think he cares about the kid and that the kid, being baby who just had surgery, would be kinda fragile.

Even in a controlled environment such as ones home, you have to be cautious since things can go wrong with an infant.
