The Great X-Men Storytime - Vol. 5: Fall of the Mutants (Part 14)

Hullo, Sup Forumsmpadres!
We've been to Genosha, the heart of America, and now it's time to visit the Big Smoke herself! That's right, it's about time we began reading Excalibur!

Oh, if only you knew...

...

...

Gal pals!

fucking yes

...

Hi user!

:(

ngl, I liked Meggan better when she was an uggo

>that skinny as a rail Brian

Being Brian is suffering

>that note
Cute!

...

...

Say whaaaaaaaa

...

Oh look, remember her?

>Boy, I can
Kitty is gay! GAY!
But you all knew that already

I think I suppressed the memories.

...

Howzabout them?
Those Captain Britain comics were bretty gud

Colossus sure didn't!

this OGN is the best looking x-men comic ever produced.

Is this some sort of fetish shit?

Ha!

I like them a lot, but when you see that much crazy shit at once it's hard to recall individual things. That said, wasn't sparklelady the one that made Cap Britain trip balls?

I've always heard praise of Excalibur, is it really good? How different is it from Claremont's X-Men stuff? How tied is it into the mythos and other books at the time? What I mean is if I wanted to read it as standalone, would it work?

start with this issue, and it's pretty self contained outside of Inferno. It's alternate universe/fantasy shenanigans with the cast that we're meeting right now.

>that pudgy Thor

>wasn't sparklelady the one that made Cap Britain trip balls?
Eeyup.

It's pretty much a Captain Britain book co-starring some X-Men, so other than Inferno it's pretty self-contained. With that said, there is some stuff you might want to read for context's sake, like the Moore and Delano Captain Britain runs, and Fall of the Mutants. It's not necessary, but like I said, it adds a bit of context to this run.

...

Welcome to jolly old London!

Is that fucking Dream?

...

...

Do you need to ask?

Jaysus, Kurt!

Yeah, you're right.

Oh yeah, if you didn't read Moore's Cap, it's worth noting Brian fucking died there.

...

I'm not into vore like at all, so this is just weird man

...

...

Nice, Captain Britain to the rescue!

Inflation too?!

...

Seriously wtf

...

Brian doesn't have time for your angst!

...

Excalibur gave Claremont quite a bit of freedom, and he used it to do what he did best. And what he does best isn't very vanilla.

...

I'm into it, but seeing it so blatantly done in allegedly-not-porn comic is just weird.

I am not a fan of Excalibur because I find it too self indulgent, but anyway, thanks X user.

Yeah, yeah, I watched the movie too, Rache.

man, these guys are just dragging out all the fetishes.

...

>AAAAA WE'RE ON FIRE RACHEL WHAT THE FUCK

Ugh, brb again

well, at least the ninjas can't catch them.

Rachel's Phoenix Sense is tingling!

...

Yuck.

...

...

With Claremont, it's hard to tell where the fetishes end and the body horror starts.

...

...

>a cowardly, superstitious lot
I sure do wonder where Kitty heard that!

...

...

Do the Hellfire Club look like a fucking performance group or what?

>I "Pryde" myself
That was awful

...

...

Lady on the background's all like
>You go, grrl!

...

That's a great cover! Looking back, in the late 80s we had multiple super teams that really felt global.

The Avengers had squads on both coasts, The X-Men were in the outback, Alpha Flight had Canada(Most Evil Country on Earth), Excalibur had England.

DC had the JLI, which expanded to Justice League America and Justice League Europe. And it helps that I'm a sucker for global/goverment teams.

No idea why they colored her orange in this page.

Lewd!

Alas

...

...

That actually looks better as a costume than her Hound getup desu

>more vore

...

...

I say Rachel is at her best when she's all edgy and spiky.

...

And this is why I never understood why they had to make Nightcrawler a priest.

...

Yeah, that shit was pointless.

>crikey o'reilly
lol?

It's kind of annoying, but I really like Rachel's hound marks and costume. Makes her stand out in the ocean of cute redheads that make up the X-Men's history.

>a cutie!
Hah

...

Fuckin' Warwolves, man.

I say Rachel is at her best when she's all edgy and spiky.
