Is this Board Cursed?

Like the title says, why is it that none of the projects created on this board ever get finished?

>list of failed Sup Forumsllaboration projects

The same reason none of the projects on /tg/ get finished. Or Sup Forums. Or Sup Forums. Et cetera.

Lack of motivation, interest and ambition.

What kind of projects does Sup Forums even attempt?

Because the last dozen projects or so have been reduced to guys begging drawfags to draw their sexual fantasies while pretending it's something serious.

CoCo actually broke the mold for somet time but it was a dumb joke taken wayyyy to seriously.

And that reason is?

Personally I think it's over-investment in the project combined with anons being anons.

Examples I can remember from Sup Forums: foodgirls and the CCBA if you stood at a funny angle, squinted and tilted your head to one side.

And /tg/ had Disney Villains Victorious, which went on for quite a while before plummeting into the abyss

People have LIVES happen, and have to be fairly motivated, plus people often do everything by themselves when most comics have at least 5 people working on them now.

>CoCo actually broke the mold for somet time but it was a dumb joke taken wayyyy to seriously.
I don't think this was helped by people from other boards deciding to shit on it from a great height.

But it did well for what it was.

Though I'm not sure if Part 7 was ever finished.

We are here because we are lazy

people who get work done in life don't have time to argue on Korean fingerpainting chat rooms

and talent.

Sup Forums finishes singing projects all the time and the orchestr/a/ is on its third season
Collaborative works aren't impossible on this site, you just need a realistic goal

Would you like to make a webcomic with me, user? I have this great idea about young queer catgirls starting out in the big city trying to form a rock band...

Remember Sup Forumsllette? Remember Chaptor? Remember how Psu took them all, made a boring comic, lost interest, and then went on to another boring comic?

Fun times.

At least we got some great cheesecake pin ups.

It all ends in fetish porn so no one bothers.

it turns out the people with talent and energy would rather work on their own projects rather than Sup Forums's flavor of the month.

This. Most 'projects' here are either fun daydreaming or a way to do only the most fun part of the job in one or a few threads while pretending you even want to do the rest.

"took" them? Are you incapable of making something with them? Let's see your comic, user. Or are you just not talented in any way, shape, or form? Are you just some sad sack who sits on a korean meme board and complains when people do drawings for free?

Its like this, mainly.

>none of the projects on /tg/ get finished
Ahem

Sorry, I would've replied sooner but I had a couple pages I was writing up for my artist. I guess being a writer makes me more critical of others. You see the potential for fun and then they just fuck it up and lose interest. I will never understand why people take a sexy and fun concept and turn it into some boring, serious, not-sexy comic.

Sup Forums is full of useless ideaguys.

There have been plenty of talented artists on Sup Forums in the past. The problem is that talented artists have a short lifespan here because they either get swept up in the current of their own success, or they simply move on with their lives.

Drawing is hard and takes a long time to complete. Drawing well is a very rare skill. Drawing a finished product on a consistent basis is almost impossible for most people. Once you consider all these elements, it becomes clear why Sup Forums projects never see completion.

Has someone read /lit/'s book?

BECAUSE THEY SUCK DICK JUST LIKE YOUR THREAD

SAGE

The problem is that people are lazy and unable to stay committed. Or they just aren't motivated enough, lack passion, or aren't smart enough to monetize it effectively to make it more than a hobby.

I work a full time job, write multiple comics, advertise (whenever I can), run a website, run two patreons (don't ask), and write for video games that are slowly being made, and still have time to waste on an image board and shitpost as an user.

You need to be dedicated and know how to make business decisions. I know of one person who turned their portion of a Sup Forums project into an actual webcomic but I won't name it because they want to keep that a secret.

My brand is growing and I use my job to help keep it running as it does so. I do expect to make a living on this... eventually. But I am dedicated and passionate about all this to be patient. I want to quit my job so I can focus on this full time. If I was running a Sup Forums project, it'd still be going and would probably be carried on solely by me.

Sounds egotistical? Well that's why most projects fail, you need someone like that running the show. I've been around enough writers and artists to see them running around in circles or just spinning their wheels. I've dealt with flaky people all the time and I have kicked them to the curb because they don't have that drive.

nice

Wasn't this based on a Sup Forumsmic?

I'd consider it a finished project

Because everybody wants to make an animation or a webcomic or some other retarded goal that is way too ambitious to really take off.

The projects that work on Sup Forums consistently, are the ones that are way lower key, like the Sup Forums sings or the Sup Forums sings, or projects with a defined end goal that are spearheaded by certain overly dedicated anons, like the singing anons running the Sup Forums The Musical Show (plus Goober Gaem autism as a driving force) or the produceranons running all the Sup Forums albums.

Sup Forums projects get finished when they move away from Sup Forums

Sup Forums three angled blue

This is still happening.

And I finished the story I was writing in the /coc/ thread last weekend. That was my project for the past three weekends, and I finished it.

You can't see the trees in the forest.

Huh, this is neat. Page 28 ended up becoming page 41.

Does Gob the Gnome King even browse Sup Forums anymore

It's more over specialization than being cursed. Sup Forums is filled with absolutely brilliant idea people, and comes up with great concepts all the time. However, nobody has the talent to make any of them a reality, so they remain just that, ideas.

Probably. There's no way to know unless he draws something though.

People with talent leave, because we point them away from here.

Because there's no funding and a clear head demanding deadlines.
Social projects don't work.

Heh, well, it was because someone complaint that there is no ladybug being bundle up like a gift.

I added a lot of stuff in the middle, once serious line-by-line adaption begins, I also decompressed the thing to make way because my handwriting is messy.
