He's basically Miles Morales done right.

Why would it matter if he's underrated?

I'd say he's overrated

They keep trying to redo the Reach storyline and fail every time.

It's hard to read right now, and a bit clumsy and annoying if you're not into hard-speech teasing. On the other hand, they have some nice ideas going on, the hard-speech is being soften and the art is pretty.

Last issue was actually quite good.

I'm reading it, even when I was going to drop it after issue 3 or 4.

this

He was underrated when he first showed up since people hated him cause Ted died but after his first ongoing was cancelled and YJ happened he became overrated

What are the best blue beatle stories to read?

His first solo was great, the nu52 was shit

I think he's in a pretty balance spot honestly, he gets pushed a bit but it's mostly been in animated stuff that's younger viewer/teen targeted, which makes sense since he's a teen hero.

As trash as the YJ Reach adaptation was, if you told me back in 2006 Jaime fucking Reyes was going to end up on TV I would have been too hyped to care. That book was so damn good.

the one where a girl is dominating him and the suit detects his boner.

Anything by John Rogers is great.
Not just Blue Beetle, but anything. His D&D comic, for example.

Wasn't he already in Batman the Brave and the Bold? Oh wait that was 2008

And they tried developing a Blue Beetle live action show

Jaime's solo from 2006.

That's it for him.

>tfw no porn spawned from that moment
I just wanted more Bleez lewds.

I really enjoy it when the scarab interacts. That tree thing was fun

I like Jaime. I just wish he had better books than his first. New 52 was awful and Rebirth has been middling. Now it seems like DC is pushing him harder than they really need to because he gained popularity after the end of his first run.

Only question i have is why isn't pic related a thing?

Aside for shippingfagging, they two would have a pretty good dinamic as poor chicano boy and temperamental white girl

All i want is john's to write blue beetle again.

He's a great character but I don't know what the hell Giffen was thinking making the scarab magic.

>His D&D comic, for example.
High seas adventure never.

The scarab WAS magic originally.

Then it was retconned to be alien tech.

Now it's been retconned to be both.

Loved this scene with him in Justice League Action. Courtney is great in it too.

Jaime x Bart is a better pairing.

Came here to post this.
DC has other teen superheroes, many capable of sustaining a decent imsized series.
>Stargirl for example

One of my top DC heroes desu.
Reminds me of Miles but actually a well written character.

One of my top DC heroes desu.
A teen Spider-man expy but he's well written unlike Miles.

They need some new blood on the character. Did Ted even need to come back if he wasn't the blue beetle before? I hope Giffen is off the title and Loveness gets to write Blue Beetle.

>Did Ted even need to come back if he wasn't the blue beetle before?

So you didn't even read it and yet call for writer changes.

I read the rebirth issue and Giffen can't script for shit.

Jaime had one good run. god damnit never seeing it again hurts so much.

Sorta related but I reread Countdown to Infinite Crisis and it seems that the plan was always for the Scarab to have been magic related leading Ted to the Wizard and all. I'm assuming it was entirely on Rogers who decided to make it extraterrestrial in origin and what we're getting now is I assume loosely what the original plan was.
