The real Blade Runner 2049 ending

Thoughts?

The one in the movie is better

>unnecessary voice over
Where have we seen this before?

I liked the silent ending much better however there's some sort of charm about this poetic version

better than the movie
loved the movie but the ending didn't do much for me, this would have been perfect

>I need a shitty voiceover repeating a part of the movie

It would of been nice to know his last thought was about JOI

Would blow out al the fags who said she didn't really love him

While it would've been nice to hear the poem spoken in the movie and there would've been no better moment than the one scripted to have recited the poem, I think it's better to leave his dying thoughts more ambiguous. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a directors cut with this ending because God knows that's something Blade Runner is well versed in.

Thank God that's not the actual ending, why would you ruin an ending with a voiceover?
The visuals tell more than enough, K lays on the steps while special unique snowflakes fall on his hand and melt away forever, you don't need nothing else at all, it's perfect as is.

too hammy

it'd be something Nolan will do

Villeneuve is really good about editing make or break scenes in the scripts he's given. Just check out the first couple of pages of the Sicario script and you'll realize what a dumpster fire that film would've been if he weren't the guy directing it.

Holy shit I just read through the beginning and the end and that Alejandro VO was awful and would have ruined the character.

It's not a commentary though it fits into the pale fire theme and the baseline K always goes back to never really escaping his programming

I think they scrapped the voice over in favor of playing Tears in the Rain

Also the rest of the script includes way more lines for Freysa and establishes her as having a "off world patois" and her speaking style is very distinct and similar to Wallace. The actual film makes that whole scene seem so much more cheesy than the script, I think Villeneuve changed it because of the actress being shit. He also complained about an actress on the round table interview probably her.

Movie version is better. In the Movie k is lost in the moment of the choices he made that brought him here. Thinking of Joi kind of regresses the character a bit in that if he still only cared aboht Joi why not go buy another. The reason is he determined to help Deckard a real person with a real connection to soneone he loves

I liked the Joy stuff but I also prefer the quiet ending way better. Adding in the VO would have over complicated the scene in my opinion.

yeesh

ridley will direct 3 and no doubt he will have his say over this

how the fuck does a dream sequence in his head proves she really loved him?
K thinking about Joi before dying only shows how much HE loved her, not the opposite

This

I also like the idea that K has likely fucked up bringing a fugitive to the most wanted woman alive after it’s been established he can be easily tracked. He does a beautiful thing dying to bring them together, but his story is over and it’s theirs now good or bad. Repeating the “cells interlinked” just sounds too hopeful to me, or too idealistic.

>ridley will direct 3
PLEASE GOD NO
