Just marathoned this movie. Did we understand it?

Was it a happy ending for humanity or only for the two?

Neither

Everyone is fucked mentally, the world is fucked beyond repair, everyone else is in a cloud consciousness as was Gendos plan, and Asuka despises Shinji.

The silver lining is that anyone can pull themselves out of the TANG cloud whenever they want, but why would they go back to such a shitty situation after being so mentally fucked?

>Shinji finally learns to love himself and others
>Only person left thinks he’s “disgusting”

How the fuck can this be misconstrued to be a happy ending? Its a special kind of Japanese nihilishm

Why does Shinji choose to live?

>watching Chinese cartoons
grow up

Every human can opt out of instrumentality if they choose to. They just were the first 2.

>marathon
>movie
>anime

Why Sup Forums allowed competent mods?

Is Asuka the only person left? I assumed everyone who was turned into soup was also turned back when he took back his wish.

Did she say disgusting because she knew that hand was once stained with cum?

Reminder that we see pic related at the end, meaning that a significant amount of time has passed since Shinji gave humanity the option to return to their regular form. Shinji continues the cycle of running away from his problems by avoiding instrumentality which would force him to face his problems, and actually grow into a better person.

why is a series where the characters look into the camera and explain the themes so confusing for people?

It's a bot

>being in the happy goop to “fill in human hearts with each other” will help him grow as a person
>he can grow as a person if he isn’t a person
Weeeww

I understood it but you probably didn't.

The first choking scene takes place between episodes 23 and 24

Nah he stopped instrumentality mid process. Also its up to the individual people to make up their minds not Shinji.

You really are retarded if you think this scene was THAT deep in anyway. Matter of fact nothing is deep in EoE. Its all symbolism.

The last episode of the actual show was more deep than anything else to come out of NGE.

Instrumentality is the natural evolution of humanity. We see it in the original ending that by joining humanity together, individuals defeat their inner demons with the help of the rest of those who care for them. In the movie we KNOW it succeeds because when humanity is given the option to leave instrumentality they choose not to. The only 2 people who choose not to participate in instrumentality are ones who are very clearly broken people.

Because Shinji is masochistic and has a thing for crazies

Is it hard to make these bots?

It's not a bot. It's an autist. Very big difference. The cunnyposter, that's a bot.

It's not an ending at all. Instrumentality happened and then Shinji decides that he wants to be an individual rather than part of "humanity". We get the beach scene and then everything just fucking resets, that's if you want to think of Rebuild as a continuation. If you don't then he wakes up, then Asuka wakes up and that implies other people could do the same if they have enough of their individual personality left and want to leave the ocean. That doesn't mean this belongs on Sup Forums though, Sup Forums would call you a brainlet but they could go into one hell of an explanation if you really want to get into the nitty gritty

You're really retarded if you think a simple observation that Rust on cross= Lots of time passing is deep

Shinji should have stayed goo tbqh

>The cunnyposter, that's a bot.

Is there ever going to be a moment when we get decent mods and janitors? Why is Sup Forums the only board willing to stop people from shitting up their board?

Imagine some of the retards you'd have to share goo-space with.

because weeb'ing is srs bsns

Most boards don't have shitposters as dedicated as that. It's literally impossible to keep up with a bot of that caliber

The current janitor we have is from Sup Forums and gingermod is still upset that he wasn't embraced when he first showed his mug here

...

When do you say a cartoon or comic book movie is not Sup Forums related?

The "disgusting" line is there to show how things are returning back to a slight degree of normalcy as Asuka is acting at least somewhat like her normal self again.

Could also be interpreted as Shinji being such a bitch that he cant even kill her.

Is this true? I was very confused about when that happened.

If SEELE had the same objective as the angels why did they try and stop them?

Everyone can come back if they want to, that seems pretty good to me. Plus Eva 01 is floating in space to prove that humanity existed. I mean, the voyager probe was already out there, but this is way more badass.

Soviet Union and the United States both wanted global hegemony, why did they fight?

The cruel irony is that nobody wants to turn back. Shinji finally accepted to bring himself out in the world, then the world give him a middle finger and said: fuck you, we ain't coming back.

So Shinji in the end is craving for human interaction, and when Asuka comes back, she is the embodiment of the entire human race that left Shinji behind. That's why he is psychoticly mad.
