Why is Rosemary's Baby so highly regarded?

I want to check out some more of his stuff beyond just the apartment trilogy. Those are excellent and pretty much everything I look for in horror films, but obviously he has a much more diverse body of work.

The judge wasn't a jerk. Initially, the judge was going light on him, then it got around how much Polasnki was crowing at parties about how much he was getting away with it and it made everyone look bad, and then the Judge decided to throw the book at him.

Polanski couldn'e gotten away with it like his Hollywood buddies if he didn't act like such a smug prick about the whole thing.
