>another film festival rejection
huh...I guess I really am never gonna make it.
Got any films about failure that I can watch while drinking Sup Forums?
Another film festival rejection
What did you make?
Where are you? I plan to work in the industry
a steaming pile of shit that I thought was good.
who is this?
Short or feature?
tough break user, i know exactly what you going through and the only thing you can do is keep a stiff upper lip and learn from your mistakes
Animated short
cheers mate
Just keep trying until people start noticing you, watch Joe Swanberg talk, maybe it inspires you
Post it here. Film festivals are mostly bullshit anyway, and rejection is part of every artist's experience. keep at it

Be as biting and viciously honest as possible fellas, it's why I've always respected this community.
slapstick comedy is hard to pull off
it simply wasn't funny
I hear that, thanks man.
Not too bad. Just stick with it man. I do stand up and do you know how many years of rejection I had to put in before I got on tv the first time? Every art is a grind but don't quit.
Literally me at work
I thought it was pretty fresh, definite Monty python vibes. Just keep making more and submitting. I’m working on a longer animation currently, let’s collab bb
i think it was okay
6/10
I liked it, but I can see why a film festival wouldn't take it - it's amusing, but not much else.
I immediately got a Monty Python vibe from the artwork, but that quickly faded as the premise became clear. I honestly think something like this, which well made, could have used a bigger dash of absurdity. Or, at the very least, a better punchline.
It isn't bad at all, it just didn't go far enough for me. I smirked at the guy smacking into the angel and I smirked at the execution, but it lacks any kind of edge or comedic potency. Again, it was amusing, but amusing isn't memorable and amusing isn't impressive.
The next time you make something, and I wholeheartedly think that you should continue to make things, zig when your punchline zags.
hahaha. fuck them I thought it was funny. keep at it
I really like and respect the animation style, but like that other guy said its not really that funny.
I mean I chuckled twice and I kinda laughed at the end but I think that was because I enjoy laughing at failures. Dont take me seriously because my thats my dream too but Ive never tried outside stupid short films that are only funny for my friends.
Maybe dont do a comedy next? Use that neat animation for something else.
It's decent enough as a practice/test-run for your animation style, but there's not really enough of a direction, point, or punchline to the "story" to make much of an impact. You establish a setting and a style, but you don't really do much with it here. The tone is clearly supposed to be comedic, but there's no real joke.
You shouldn't give up, at least you made something and finished it and put it out there, which is a really good experience because it forces you to be self-aware about your work. Based on this short, I think you just need to try harder, make more of an effort, push your next project to the point where it's expressing a complete idea instead of just a style exercise.
This isn't bad for a first effort. I've gone to film festivals and seen well-received shorts that are worse than this. You just need to push yourself further

>This win the best animated short prize in a Festival in Spain.
Timing is off -- the space between comic events needs to be about a beat/half-beat faster. There's too much nothing.
Panning is WAY too slow. Audience should not be spending time looking at basically nothing while the camera is moving from a thing to look at to the next thing to look at. Also, the pans need to be more curved -- a straight line to a point then jerking off at an angle is bad bad bad.
The basic idea needs a hook, too -- a good joke's ending involves a concept from the beginning. Add that.
Personally, I'd punch up the sound as well. I'd like it louder, but that's subjective.
Keep going bro, you're 80% there. Comedy is really really REALLY hard to do, since it's so timing-dependent. It's impressive that you're doing this and not some hipster garbage "feels" shit that's popular these days.
Thanks for all of your feedback guys, turns out that Sup Forums is a pretty nice dude.
this, It could have been sped up
I'm gonna ditch the comedy for my next one, you boys are making too much sense. Thanks for your advice brothers
The best spanish language media doesn't come out of spain for a reason.
Keep it up my nigga, time is what turns talent into skill
...
I'm rooting for you OP, get back to work
The pans in the opening are too jarring, looks amateur.
The time between him colliding with the women and falling into the room is too long, also what happens to the woman? I was expecting him to end up on top of her.
I thought it was funny, but it's all over the place. I couldn't even figure out what the "Story" was until the end. You nailed the humor, art, and style, but the actual movie aspect wasn't good at all.
Keep going dude, you have potential.
Which festival did you submit to?
I mean you don't have to completely ditch it if that's what you want to make. Just put more effort on the jokes, the delivery and the pacing.
