PPG/Z Thread

Tell me anons, why aren't you watching best girl's show instead of wasting time talking about that abomination of a reboot and its propaganda bullshit? At least give this a shot, did I mention it has best girl in this?

I was under the impression that PPG/Z wasn't all that great a show and the only notable thing about it was loli porn. If I wanted to watch PPG I'd marathon the original series.

PPGZ while not as great as the original PPG, it was a very charming take on the girls and story elements from the original series. If anything, the PPGZ could have done more from the original plots (the super heroes costume episode, bunny and bullet, etc) and with a bit more splash of DBZ since the show put less action pack moments over cute and comedy moments.

That being said that's what I mean, why not watch both PPG and PPGZ instead of waste any time to that trash of a reboot that shall not be named as it is a blemish to Craig's amazing handiwork.

>Buttershit

This is best girl

I was never going to bother with nu PPG either way, but I could give Z a shot. It does look cute at least. I love that Buttercup design.

Absolutely harem :^)

If you like shows like Sailor Moon, it should feel right at home, but if not, it's fine if it isn't your taste. PPGZ is really personal taste, but for what it does it does feel like a honest retake of PPG for the nipnogs, better than that reboot wishes it could do.

And glad you have good taste, here's some more Kaoru (Buttercup)

bump

Because it's an anime. Feel free to repost this on Sup Forums, OP.

It's for PPG and Z. Feel free to post PPG stuff too!

>15 threads for live adaptations are fine, but an animé adaptation is the root of all evil

The former is bad, the latter doesn't belong here.

Not that complicated, user.

Literally what's the difference.

But shouldn't the live action stuff go to Sup Forums? idk I'm just asking.
And really I think the origin of a show should allow its discussion here too, if that's the case.

*its discussion of derivatives too

Man I haven't watched PPG in forever. I might go ahead and marathon it again and then watch PPGZ afterward. I never particularly minded Sailor Moon, I just hope they take more after the action-comedy side of things rather than the drama.

By drama you mean romance/complications between characters? If so you don't have to worry about that, it has little to absolutely none involving the characters, anything that does have it iirc was all done for comedy. If there's one thing I might add was I remember they did give one of the main villains of the original a plot point that pans over the season 2 arc.

what pisses me off is that for an anime the original has better fight scenes

That's not how it works. Mods clarified this when hordes of Sup Forums shitposters tried to invade us with Pacific Rim threads, using the comic adaption as an excuse to shitpost about the movie.

>b-but Live threads!
Mods have doublestandards. You'd know this if you had lurked more instead being this new.

I just mean the sort of relationship drama that wasn't uncommon in Sailor Moon from what I recall. But you've answered that question. I don't mean overarching plots in general.

It's better than Nu PPG

You are a retard who cares more about his own interpretation of rules and enforcing then rather than actually taking part in the community you feign to be a part of.
It's an adaption based on a Sup Forums media, and you complaining about it rather than finding something you actually want to talk about is the same kind of retard that made those Avengers anime and that Avengers mobile game unable to be talked, that were actually removed by mods about despite all things.

The thread hasn't gotten deleted yet, so that should answer the question for now. If somebody doesn't approve, report and hide. If the mods and jannies agree that this doesn't belong, so be it. No need to get rustled.

I've heard it's better than the reboot, and I don't have anything else to watch right now so I might as well check it out.

Remember to bump your nutshack thread for extra (You)s.

>Mods have doublestandards.
I know this dude, it's not something special to Sup Forums.

That being said I don't know why this is a taboo subject for this board specifically, it's not like Pokemon who has a containment board explicitly for that show or that PPGZ is an Eastern original show, it's a derivative to a Western of origin show, even greenlitted by Craig McCracken himself. IF the mods thinks this is a grey area, I don't mind and I'll be fine with their decision for the thread. For now, I just want to talk about PPG/Z and even all of the other versions (except the shitty reboot) to cherish the good times from both of these great shows. Especially since next year marks the 20th anniversary of PPG.

You ignored what I said and focused on the image, and even then didn't even recognize an old ass meme. You can fuck right off, you backseat moderating fucking wannabe.

Just ignore that tool. What's your favorite PPG episode?

Tell me, for discussion, do you think Z are weaker than the PPG in power and abilities or on par, and including the other PPG types (Fusion, Bleedman) for that matter? Which is the canonically strongest PPG?

I like the episodes that mostly focus on the girls realizing being heroes take bigger responsibilities, doing things that better help the city of townsville. Like the Dynamo episode was amazing, but it was great seeing that despite "helping" the city it wasn't the best course of action and it was needed to learn there are other ways to help than total destruction. Also seeing the Mayor getting really pissed is hilarious.

The original group fought some heavy duty threats, but their strength seemed to fluctuate by the whims of the plot. Even then, I can only remember a handful of times they lost, including Rowdy Ruffs, the Beat-alls and Future HIM. So it's hard to gauge what their upper limit would be.

Honestly, probably. They need transformations and weapons, and the last time I actually watched the series they regularly got blown out by pretty easy enemies, though fairly due to being a formulaic series. I think they'd possibly even be weaker than the 2016 girls.
Keep in mind, I only got so far into season 2.

Isn't Dynamo also featured in PPGZ? That episode was great, mainly because they didn't even need the robot to fight anyway.

They could've gotten prime Gainax to make this. When Imaishi and Yoshinari were still with the studio and gotten a really good Jap produced PPG. Instead they went with this shit.

Yes it did, another great episode from the PPGZ side. Shit, that part when it became sentient and kicked Mojo's ass was badass and perfect. It was like seeing Gurren Lagenn in PPG form, absolutely perfect. This is why I wish we had a season 3, so much missed potential.

I really don't mind PPGZ for what it is, but I'd kill for another retake of PPG that ACTUALLY cares what it's doing of PPG. That style near the bottom right looks really nice and cute, it looks like a bit of Z done with the original design more in mind.

>we will never a Trigger Studio animated PPG
>we will never get season 3 of PPGZ
>we will forever get more seasons of nuPPG

>nuPPG is abandoned, they are just held ransom the last few episodes animated and releasing them each once at a time..................whenever they felt like it.

I honestly liked it more than the original. It had a strange bittersweet charm to it

The team from Z would beat the Bleedman versions like red-headed stepchildren even without their equipment. They're hardier and stronger than the Bleedman ones are portrayed to be by a fair bit. The Fusion Fall team is largely featless.

Original team could either be completely beyond the Z-team's ability or lose to them depending on episode(as the original PPG series never much bothered to have a consistent powerlevel).

This was a better PPG anime

This really makes me wonder how would it be like if they made a crossover of some kind to see what they could be powerlevel wise, because of how powerful the orginal ones are. I mean you have things like Buttercup in Z shooting eye beams through the planet and in the original she's strong enough to lift the hall of justice (iirc is the name) plus the mountain it was resting on.

Fusion Fall PPG never had anything noteworthy? Anything at all?

>I mean you have things like Buttercup in Z shooting eye beams through the planet

What episode was that?

The episode at the tail end of season 2 that features them doing a new technique called the "Love Love Beam". It was basically a filler episode because it was never reused, even though it was supposed to be the attack they'd use to defeat the final boss of the series.

Spoiler for those who haven't watched Z: It's Him.

PPGZ is okay. It's not as good as the original but way better than nuPPG.

Him? Him who? the guy at my side? you aren't being clear user.
clarification: it's a joke, don't crucify me yet
