Why the fuck do people cling to this overrated shithole. Why the fuck did this win awards. Why the fuck does this exist. Why the fuck can't Hasbro just give us a good show for once. This show is generic trash and you are fucking trash for liking it.

GarbageHazard please.

...

This was indeed really boring. Probably the tightest TF show as far as writing goes. But utterly unmemorable.

Because it was good?

I didn't post a picture of Beast Wars now did I.
Also, how the fuck can it be good when every character in this picture is shit, minus Smokescreen on the point of him not being boring to watch.

Smokescreen is boring as shit. All TF good guys are always boring save for one or two, who the fuck watches any TF for anything but the Decepticons? It's the one series where rooting for the badguys is always the right choice

Also, fuck off 90s fag, I love Beast Wars but there is plenty to nitpick about it too....people like you make saner TF fags want to side with the Beast Machines autist who hates Beast Wars just out of principal.

>who the fuck watches any TF for anything but the Decepticons?

Decepticons are largely dull, outside a handful of standouts. Look at G1, the Autobots all have a basic, if archetypical, personality or quirk. Beyond the initial inportant Decepticons, they're generally samey. Look at swindle being a standout, since he's one of the few Decepticon combiner members with a personality.

Beast Wars Maximals and the Prime Decepticons have a similar angle in disfuntionality, which makes them both interesting to watch

I've been watching it occasionally recently, caught it casually on TV, and yeah, i expected much better considering how well people talk of it

Now obviously I've only seen a chunk of episodes, can't be a totally legit judgment, but annoying and ugly as sin kids characters, ugly CG, nothing spectacular as far as writing goes... didn't intrigue me at all

The only good Maximals were Primal and Rattrap

Dinobot if you're still 12 and an edgelord, he was just Vegeta the robot. Every Predacon was cool save for Terrorsaur, Waspinator who gets a pass because he was never supposed to be cool, and Scorpinok

Smokescreen was pretty bland minus him having some fun with his character, by extent making him kinda less shitty, because he's not as bland, since he just dicks around and shit. Like a golden trash bag in a circle of trash bags.

If I'm watching a show with characters that's been critically acclaimed, I want a show with characters that aren't cardboard. Especially with the 5 protagonists.

The only good Autobot in Prime was Ratchet pretty much, because the writers actually decided to do their job, and write about the character sometimes. The Decepticons I agree, had a cool cast, but nothing is every explored minus Starscream. Why the fuck is Soundwave a mute, how the fuck did Breakdown come to his beef with Bulkhead minus one sentence of explanation, why the fuck are you not doing anything with this cast, why is no one getting fleshed out except for two planes, why the fuck did best jet die, why the fuck didn't this series do anything with it's cast, why the fuck did Cliffjumper die instead of fleshing him out so we can actually feel impact upon his death, why the fuck is Optimus a stale brick, why is no one explored.

TF:P's Decepticons, while being fun to watch sometimes - never actually had anything done with their character, and just existed for the sake of more Decepticons. Yeah, they need to sell toys, but with a cast so small, it should be easily to divert to give everyone a fair share of characterisation and development. But everyone just exists minus a few.

Also yeah Beast Wars has plenty to nitpick, pretty much everything does. But it's not Prime levels of generic.

You don't get it. Its not that they were cool. its that, for good guys, they didn't all get along and had issues. That made it interesting to watch. The Predacons may have been cool, but most were very one note; the ones that weren't made for the most interesting conflicts, usually with Megatron; Tarantulas, Blackarachnia, and Rampage.

Prime actually did the same thing with the Predacons, which function like a disfunctional family. It makes Megatron's killing of Dreadwing to save starscream more poignant.

>If I'm watching a show with characters that's been critically acclaimed, I want a show with characters that aren't cardboard. Especially with the 5 protagonists.

They all had something going on, it just often went nowhere because the show was ended abruptly and I'm pretty sure had to be forced to a quick wrap up

Fatboy had his whole Wreckers backstory, Arcee had her angst/Airachnid hatred, Bee was...well, modern Bee, not as annoying as Cheetor was might I add as far as yellow kidbots go, Prime yeah sadly kind of boring, Ratchet? I fucking couldn't stand Ratchet in TFP, I won't argue that he had character...it just wasn't one I enjoyed, he felt to me like an elderly homosexual man who's always bitching and moaning

>Why the fuck is Soundwave a mute
He's not, he just doesn't talk. Kind of expanding on the whole idea of Soundwave being primarily a creepy spy but switching it up a little. Making his alt mode a drone was a great choice.
> how the fuck did Breakdown
I'll stop you there and agree Breakdown was wasted potential

Prime in no way was a perfect show, but it had a lot of potential and while it was airing I enjoyed it, it's easy to watch it in retrospect and tear it apart but you can do that to literally any series, and as we all know, literally every TF series does get torn apart by some disgruntled fan or another, I have my personal "hated" shows as well but TF Prime is not one of them, as flawed as it is I will gladly watch and enjoy it easier than quite a few other TF shows that are held dearly by some fans

it was the first TF show to be "Edgy" and "dark" so naturally 13 year olds give it a pass no matter how many glaring flaws it has

remember that right before this and after it we had really colorful kiddy toons

The direction is so flat. Compare it to Beast Wars, where scenes were framed in interesting ways, with clever scene transitions. Prime feels incredibly cheap in comparison, despite Beast Wars being made with far inferior animation technology,

>All TF good guys are always boring save for one or two
Poor Prime baby

I get it, I'm mostly playing devil's advocate here...I love Beast Wars, and I'm typically a Decepticon fanboy so it's easy for me to bash the goodguys but let's think about this

You call the Predacons mostly one note....aside from Optimus and Ratty, the Maximals could all be argued as being very one note. Cheetor...the typical hot headed teen stereotype, Rhinox...the typical gentle giant stereotype, Dinobot...the typical anti hero stereotype, etc etc

>it was the first TF show to be "Edgy" and "dark"
That would be the beast era

>Beast Wars
Beast Wars was not edgy.

The Fred Perry porn.

Still my favorite Prime

Beast Wars was as "edgy" (meme word) as Prime ever was

Just because Beast Wars had slapstick thrown in for good measure doesn't change the fact that the story was very dark and grim a lot of times, Rampage is possibly the edgiest bot to ever appear on TV, he's literally some serial killer archetype

Beast Machines was also actually edgy, like not in a meme sense

>Fatboy backstory
Except, nothing is ever done with it. I feel this was the main problem with Prime, it had some great concepts - but just stops at that. It didn't ever do shit with them.

>Arcee
Yeah I can see your point, I'm more indifferent to her but I can understand why people enjoy her as one of the more standout dudes.

>Soundwave
Yeah, the way that he was expanded upon of being a spy and all was cool, but I just wish we got more stuff to him. He was always a really mysterious dude, but none of his mystery was answered. If I recall in the lore bible or something, he silenced himself as an act of rebellion against the senate, which would have been cool if it was actually mentioned in series, even towards the end so the writers could keep his mystery throughout the show.

I respect your opinion though. I think just what I don't respect about Prime itself is so many people claiming it to be like, the fucking godsend of the franchise.

Pretty much this. Even before it, Animated was good. It wasn't trying to be anything but just a fun cartoon, that was also able to be enjoyable for everyone. I can see why people dislike it, but I'll always be an autistic shit and wank it off as being really good, because it's got plenty of great points to it. If anything, I feel it's biggest problem was too many human villains, while the concept does work - I felt it was starting to get done too many times by S2.

Yeah, I feel that this is one of my biggest issues. The direction and show feel really bland and uninspired.

Best Prime. I feel Animated really did well on it's cast. Bulkhead could have used some more, but he was still an engaging dude, and I feel his whole artistic shit was responsible for this, since it really did have us engage with this dude a lot more.
I think that's just what made Animated really good, it was engaging. It was engaging because it had some pretty good dudes doing some pretty down to Earth things.

>Best Optimus
>best Megatron
>best Starscream
>best bumblebee
>best humans
>best setting
Animated was just the best

>Claiming Animated had best Optimus, best Starscream, best Bumblebee when they totally weren't
>Ignoring best Ratchet, best Swindle, best Blurr, best Shockwave and best Wreck-Gar

C'mon, man, get it together!

This show makes me cry honestly, I love it so much. It's fucking awesome. Just recently got my first TF in years, Voyager Prime. It was a crime not giving it Season 4 honestly, would have loved to see more of Jazz, and the SG universe would have been really great to see.

>when they totally weren't
Yes, they are.

>Ignoring best Ratchet, best Swindle, best Blurr, best Shockwave and best Wreck-Gar
I thought about them but man, pretty much all the character of animated are the superior versions.

Nah

BW had a better Optimus, G1 had a better Starscream and there is no better Bumblebee, they're all awful

>no more Prowl episodes
Feels bad, man.

>I think just what I don't respect about Prime itself is so many people claiming it to be like, the fucking godsend of the franchise.
I've almost never seen anybody say that, at least not here. The only show I see here get treated that way is Beast Wars, like most nostalgic 90s era things

Just since the topic is being discussed, the characters in Prime I hated the most were Ratchet and Wheeljack, I found every other character to be boring at worst and entertaining at best, but those two just fucking annoyed me

Oh, and the Asian chick, some kind of Rainbow Dash type or something yeah yeah whatever, you're so rockin' and stuff little human girl, fawk ya!

They also treated the Decepticons as a legitimate threat. The Autobots never treated them lightly, even after all their victories they were scared shitless of them.

>BW had a better Optimus
not technically him, sorry
>G1 had a better Starscream
you're probably right. I just wish his voice was tad less bitchy
>and there is no better Bumblebee, they're all awful
>not playing war for cybertron

that game has the best bumblebee of the past decade

>Oh, and the Asian chick, some kind of Rainbow Dash type or something yeah yeah whatever, you're so rockin' and stuff little human girl, fawk ya!

I figured we would at least get some decent lewds of her, but nope.
She's completely useless, then.

>inferior clone of best girl

>BW had a better Optimus
Ape Prime started good but became boring after the transmetal shit. Cute Prime got better with every season.

>>BW had a better Optimus
>not technically him, sorry

I'm sorry, you said best "Optimus" not best ""Prime"

Primal was an Optimus.

So, sorry right back at ya.

I will concede that Animated was the best Optimus Prime, but Primal is best Optimus above them all

Agreed, Animated Optimus is easily the best version. I would let the man fuck me hard.

I'd honestly put Primal just marginally below Animated Optimus, but both are great.

Absolute pain.

I mean like, outside of this place I see it's generally regarded as the bible and shit. I agree about Wheeljack a lot, really sucks because I felt his G1 version was a real standout of the cast.

Yeah, this was a really good decision, and executed pretty well. Really added that sense of tension and satisfaction too. I just feel that we might have had too many human villains at one point, but plenty are still enjoyable.

Niko is Sari designed by a committee

Man, I fucking hate that guy

Seeing him react to the populace prefer Optimus would have probably been my highlight of S4.
IF IT FUCKING HAPPENED.
But alas, ROTF sold better or some shit. If anyone actually has any of the reasons why S4 got cancelled with sources, would really appreciate it if someone linked. I always hear conflicting shit and I don't recall the Almanac having anything.

Would Optimal Optimus stand a chance against the peak of the Megatrons?

>Best Prime
You're both alright.

>tfw we won't ever get another Prime that's similar to him, just the same old seasoned/experienced warrior and leader ad infinitum
Feels bad. I miss him. ;_;

It's okay, I miss him too.
Same with the show.
ReAnimated better be somewhat good or I'll probably kill myself. The art looks promising I guess.

someone did point out that optimus didn't really develop that much in TFA.

yeah, he gets more confident, but his fighting and leadership skills were already evident from the pilot episode

>corrupted spark

wonder what they were going for with that.
obviously there was no time to explain it, so they just gave him a normal one when you see it

>corrupted spark
More like Decepticons and Autobots were different species.

I hope someone will scan it eventually. It being an exclusive sucks.

ReAnimated?

Yeah, it's a comic being released exclusively at one of the TFCons, from a cool artist and one of the writers of the Allspark Almanac. It's meant to pretty much be Season 4 in a book apparently. The art looks pretty good, so I hope the actual writing is too. Probably gonna cost like a kidney tho.

"It may help if I explain that, though we've based on the story on the official hooks for season 4, the book is not designed to represent season 4 as it would have been had it been made seven years ago as a set of 13+ episodes. Our approach was to ask, "What if, now, all these years later, Animated was given the chance to come back and do a 65min/three-episode direct-to-DVD movie to tie up its story?" We've selected the basic plot concepts from the season that we can best tie together into a complete story in its own right, designed to meet that goal. So you'll see ideas that were going to be in the season like the trial of Megatron, Sari's quest for her origins, and… well, several more, but saying anything more would be telling!… but not in the way they would have been told seven years ago. Other season 4 things, like, say, S.T.E.A.M. or Cosmos losing his memory, aren't part of it at all. But I don't want to go into any more detail than that! :) "

I just want a happy ending for Megatron
