Finn actually seems pretty mentally healthy for a guy that never had a real teacher in his life. Even his adopted dad only taught him adventuring stuff.
A lot of the story is him coping with stuff people are supposed to cope with at his age, like childhood crushes, facing phobias, and suddenly seeing your parents in a different light. He's not very smart, but I think he's pretty far from autistic.
