It's satire, obviously they're going with extremes. That said, that's one of the things I don't like about the show, it is so fatalist that sometimes (more so in the last two seasons) it becomes ludicrous. As in the 1st episode of the 3rd season where a series of events so stupid and improbable happen to the protagonist that the point ''technology is bad'' doesn't even matter, because if those things happen to you, you just are unlucky as fuck.

Why does Charlie Brooker never present the question of whether or not a sufficiently advanced computer program is conscious or alive? He always just takes it for granted that if you made a digital clone of yourself that that clone would literally be you.
