I invited my father to see a movie with me to my new apartment.
I chose Wonder Woman and I thought he'd like it but mid way he just asked me why do I like bullshit like this? Said I shouldn't watch this dumb shit that's made for kids.
I thought everyone could enjoy these movies but apparently I'm too old to watch superhero movies... Now I feel like I'm dumb for actually liking this shit, and thinking about it, they aren't really intellectual movies. I'm starting to doubt whether it's okay for an adult man to be watching superhero movies...
I thought this was okay, Sup Forums...
Gabriel Myers
Your father is trying to help you.
Jeremiah Scott
Youre father is right
Sebastian Smith
Your dad seems like an okay guy. Jesus Christ user, you just got yourself an apartment and you are still watching men in tights fighting CGI monsters?
Chase Robinson
THE FATHER IS ALWAYS CORRECT (unless he's black)
Jose Ramirez
Your father is a wise man. Shape up, user.
Jose Green
You didn't realize this on your own? You fucking retard. Just end your life
James Miller
ITT: he abuses you because he cares about you user
Good thing OP's story is fake though
Jace Wood
>Now I feel like I'm dumb for actually liking this shit, and thinking about it, they aren't really intellectual movies. I'm starting to doubt whether it's okay for an adult man to be watching superhero movies... this is natural your father is doing you a favour, thank him later in life when you have grown up
Easton Robinson
Sounds like your dad is based.
Asher Howard
I have a pretty good relationship with my dad, and I wouldn't invite him over to watch a movie. Sounds gay.
If I did, it wouldn't be some forgettable capshit movie made for teenagers to mellenials in their 20s.
Chase King
>He didn't at least pick a Scorsese film What a faggot.
Isaiah Moore
Your dad sounds like one of those faggots that want Simpsons threads banned to Sup Forums
Ryan Williams
I think you can watch them with the family if they are a background. Like there are kids watching or even playing and is too noisy for something good. So you drink a tea, talk with your parents and that shit is on the background. I live abroad and when I come back it could happen that we are all tired so we watch documentaries or similar things but each one is doing something else, is an excuse to talk and comment. Why you did not watch something more "for the father"? Nothing artsy but with my old man we watched together stuff like The Godfather, Master and Commander. Last time I went back Italian television broadcast Gettysburg. We thoroughly enjoyed that, he really loves US and British history (ironically enough, mom is more for the french).
Kevin Rivera
lmao
Dominic Reyes
Why the fuck is everyone telling me right NOW I shouldn't watch superhero films but then half of Sup Forums is full of superhero movie threads?
What the fuck am I supposed to believe in?
Carson Edwards
To elaborate, movies with basic values that resonate with a father-son audience.
Carter Gutierrez
Pick and choose, there is a time for everything, idiot. The only reason to watch superhero movies is to watch them with friends or as background when you have a girl over so you can get all cozy with each other.
If you’re a huge comic book fan then watch them alone. You don’t watch them with your parents, choose something more appropriate next time. Stop being so dense, you can still watch them just pick the right moments to do it.
Bentley Morgan
Half of the posters are just people that don't watch them, and are Sup Forums types worried because these movies are full of niggers. The rest, ignore it. You can find here and there comfy threads with movies like Lotr or Carpenter stuff, that are a bit better (still I would not watch them with my father, he is not the type because he likes grounded stuff). Then you can find genuinely good movies discussed here and there. Do not contribute to capeshit and it will die.
For sure, a good idea could be just to have generals. /capeshit/ /criticsarefaggots/ /forceddiversitygeneral/ would be already 3 instead of 30. More space for other stuff, form Argento to Tarkovsky.
Thomas Reyes
is undertale for children?
Henry Morris
You showed him the wrong capeshit.
He would've like The Winter Soldier.
Luke Ortiz
I think that probably the OP is fake, but is a good chance to discuss the issue IMHO. We should have /starwars/ ad /capeshit/.
Robert Lee
Capeshit is actually the pinnacle of cinema, just some Sup Forums brainlets are mad that they don't get it.
Kayden Edwards
We should have a Star Wars Board, there is enough media spread across books, tv shows, video games and movies as well as a big enough fanbase to warrant its own board.
Have a standard /cape/ general on Sup Forums to drive the traffic towards that general and keep the discussion to a minimum.
There should also be a /tvg/ for television generals. Video games get a general board, why shouldn’t Television shows? Just make sure to only keep generals for shows currently airing or popular enough stuff like Star Trek or Stargate for example.
Keep Sup Forums for discussion about tv shows and movies. Get better moderation to get rid of Sup Forums bait threads and obvious shitpost threads.
All this will never happen though. Its just wishful thinking.
Leo Hall
Shoulda showd him sum MLP tbqh famalam
Bentley Torres
I think that's fine, as long as your place isn't a dump. It should be a good movie though. Not some retarded fagshit like Wonder Woman
Parker Nguyen
I saw WW with my dad in the cinema, he fell asleep 20 minutes in. Wish I did the same.
Hunter Adams
No. But steven universe is degenerate propaganda.
John Bennett
Nope, Sup Forums already has too many boards. The only way you can improve tv is providing high quality posts but since you're already in a bait thread youve defeated that purpose.
Logan Myers
Why would you watch something just because there are threads on Sup Forums about it? That is not a seal of quality. More often it's the oppostie.
Thomas Rogers
Your dad is correct, capeshit is trash. Go clean your room and sort yourself out.
Tyler Diaz
Nah, good capeshit like Wonder Woman is actually deeply intellectual, it explores basic human themes that alien to you as a neckbearded isolate from society.
Parker White
Just make Sup Forums, /film/ and /cel/ The word "film" already makes people insecure enough so it'll sort itself out with the pleb shit like star wars and superheroes
Jayden Campbell
>this surface-level exploration of incredibly basic themes that's made to be understood by literal children is intellectually stimulating to me
Jack Morgan
I learned a lot about black history from black panther. I'm really proud of what my people have been able to accomplish
Connor Flores
Your dad is an asshole and a bad parent.
Jaxon Hernandez
>never participated in a Sup Forums dadcore thread some tips if you want to regain his respect (dads just love western movies for some reason): >Dances with Wolves >Little Big Man >Unforgiven Also Alien and Terminator, I have watched both of those with my dad in my early teens, and he seemed to be awfully fond of them (and, of course, the quality father-son time spent together).
Sebastian Carter
wow, Sup Forums contrarians are not circumscribed to movies. Otherwise, please don't be a parent.
Colton Morgan
Absolutely pathetic
Chase Cruz
>Is it okay for an adult to like superhero movies? No. You're pathetic. Your Dad's right to mock you.
Anthony Cox
Adding
The Gauntlet Gran Torino Mad Max 2 Die Hard Predator
Possibly, if your dad is really cool
Robocop Conan The Barbarian Starship Troopers
Owen Phillips
Your dad is trying to help guide you into being a productive member of society. Sometimes that means you will feel dumb. That's adulthood.
Adam Rodriguez
>letting other people control your life There’s nothing wrong with capeshit as long as it isn’t the pinnacle of your movie experience. You’d be hard pressed to find people able to talk about any non major studio movie in day to day life.
Blake Cooper
Roughly similar story OP but the movie was Deja Vu which I thought was a bit of Denzel/Tony Scott kino. My Dad just said he lost interest halfway through and left. Felt like shit.
Nolan Collins
>not picking an old classic western to watch with him
Logan Morris
Fat angry jobless or menial job no gf slobs
Ryan James
What's wrong?
Joseph Edwards
Nope. Nice projecting.
Matthew Davis
My dad left a movie we saw at the theater halfway through once but that's because we were watching Hardcore Henry and the perspective made him physically ill
Thomas Flores
He actually watched that but it was obvious he hated it. I'm not sure if I liked it desu.
Parker Butler
It's not okay for an adult man to watch superhero movies. You should call your dad and thank him
Justin Butler
Half of Sup Forums is fucking retarded.
Michael Turner
>dads just love western movies for some reason the equivalent to capeshit from when THEY were young and impressionable
