Can hollywood adapt any works of Junji Ito into a decent horror flick...

Junji Ito is literally all about shock value. His work has no depth other than that
Not entirely. some of his stuff is more psychological
A rebooted Twlight Zone could lift some of his material.
...
I always thought the one about crawling into a hole made for you was pretty deep
what am I looking at here?
Some Junji Kito
Long Dream
...
Some of his works are adaptable, but some wouldn't fly for Western audiences. Like some of his stories has no resolution and the ghosts or monsters just won. Ok for Japan audience but not for Hollywood

...
They could be adaptable if he could fucking write endings.
...
This as much as I love his work off it would be adapted into a live action show ( I think a 30 or 1 hour adaption would be best.) A lot of people would complain about the endings.

KEK
Story doesnt finsih here though
Here's the full story since the guy stopped dumping
It's not, it's about atmosphere. Post a link to some of your own stuff hotshot
thanks
no
At this point I think his problem is a little worse than psychological
Probably not. An underrated part of what make his work so good is that he's just a really great artist. Once it's no longer coming directly out of his pen it's going to lose most of his value. Even the animated adaptations lose something.
However I'd love to see them try and fail. Give me a big budget live action Hollywood adaptation of the story where everybody's giant balloon head tries to kill them.
Most of his shit wouldn't work for movies, you can't really make a 130 minute movie out of 20 pages in a comic, unless you do like Jamanji the short story and just use it as starting off point.
It could be done as a series though. Like the Twilight Zone or Tales from the Crypt.
ito's stuff works because they are short stories
horror mostly works as short stories and when you try to turn them into full length hollywood movies you have to explain everything and add filler which sucks all of the mystery and horror from the work (eg: mama)
>cartoons
>depth
They could do it like a Twilight Zone type thing.
He's done a few decent length ones.
Uzumaki, Hellstar Remina, and Gyo could all be made into something movie-length
I think the idea is mind over body. Like how the guy in split got super strength
10/10 post
Uzumaki is a lot of story tied together, except the final part.
Hellstar Remina, would look stupid or shit in a movie format, just imagine the part where they jump whole ocean.
Gyo would make a pretty good movie tho.
Tomie, Uzumaki (Spirals), and Gyo have been adapted as movies in Japan. All were commercial flops and only Gyo got good reviews and that was due to it being animated, as a means to even get it made.
In particular, the Tomie and Uzumaki were INO film adaptations that barely resembled the mangas and in the case of Tomie, did so poorly they upped the lesbian factor and pretty much reduced the character/franchise to softcore lesbian horror direct to video gabrage.
There have already been Japanese films made based on them and even they were pretty lackluster. Hollywood would absolutely butcher it. In the end this stuff is already on the perfect medium. It doesn't need to be made into a film, nor should it be.
>being this dumb
